BBM~ Yes, that is a brain twister. It kinda bothers me actually.
I am guilty! My boyfriend brought his laundry for me to do in college... I had an apartment and we hung out while "we" did his laundry.

Heck if their mothers lived close by they still may have taken laundry "home"

~just a thought...

Lol, the good ole closure line. Hours upon hours of comforting heartbroken girlfriends has taught me that "I just want closure"="I DO NOT WANT CLOSURE"

I preach the scorched earth policy when ending relationships. Helps you move on without regrets or excessive mourning.

A few exes wanted to "remain friends" ... yeah. NO. Maybe years later it's possible but I say cauterize so you heal quickly.

My friends know this and that always made it easier to avoid news of his continued existence. :D

Remaining friends works for a lot of people, especially if there are kids involved.

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Well she sure was interviewing a psycho so I guess the first part is right.:floorlaugh:

I'm not picking on you.
Are we really supposed to believe she stood there at the door of the office and Napoleon never even barked at her?
By her own words she "let herself in" and "watched Travis" before he or his dog knew she was there?
Something is hinky there!
For sure. By her own words, she's a creepy stalker and who knows what really happened!

Thank You Plumeria5 for this very interesting read. It took me awhile to get through but I feel it was a very well worth the read. I found the reading of 'A PSYCHOSOCIAL ANALYSIS OF WHAT JODI ARIAS MAY HAVE BEEN LIKE AS A YOUTH' and through to the end the most telling portions of the read. When I finally reached the last section '
FOR THOSE WHO DISAGREE THE IMPORTANCE OF JODI”S GUN-TOTING CAMPING TRIP', it made my blood run cold. I only wish all of the jurists weighing Arias's guilt/life/death could read this (all of this) before deciding.

Again I Thank You for sharing this VERY informative read. I'm so glad I read it and I am finally comfortable in my choice of punishment for Jodi Arias.

Pretty interesting reading. Especially interesting is the "JODI”S GUN-TOTING CAMPING TRIP" at the very bottom of the article. Do we know who the guys were she was planning to go with? I bet they are counting their lucky stars about now!!

I don't I really believe that is what happened. I think the resistance is because Jodi testified this.

The long phone call @ 3am (Travis-Jodi) on Jun2-3 was most def a phone sex call. moo

 Great post!

Honestly, when I first heard about it I was sure she would be leading him on, telling him to think of fantasies, etc. But it's not like that at all. He is VERY much an active participant, perhaps the main one. He starts out suggesting he take time to 'get in a happy place, get normalized, and see where it takes us.' She responds with a giggle.

He's the one who brags they've gone 2 and 3 hours many times, that their longest was 3 1/2 hours. She praises his stamina and he says he paces himself. He's the one who calls her baby and hot, never takes a bad picture and has never seen her not look good. Even when she demurs and says there are times when she has no makeup on, he insists, no, "there have been times [when she was without makeup] that I've, like, raped you." Not meaning rape but just meaning he was still hot for her then.

What she does do that is reprehensible, and proves she didn't have good motives in recording it, is she gets him to repeat things she already knows the answer to, JUST so she can get him on tape.

TA called JA at 3 am on June 2--returning her earlier calls--and talked on his nickel twice, for a total of 59 minutes. I'd bet they were having phone sex again. That's also why I feel pretty sure she let him know she was coming. She said he didn't like her to come unannounced but that as long as she let him know in advance, it was cool to come visit.

The nude photos don't look sexy at all; they look clinical. And there aren't as many of them as he talked about wanting to do. Maybe he just agreed to take a few and get on with his house cleaning. But she knew he was on his computer at 3 or 4 in the morning, she told that to Detective Flores before anyone had even investigated his computer.

I'm not sure why there is so much resistance to the idea that she told him the day before she was coming, got there in the middle of the night (when both roommates would have been asleep), and had some sort of intimate encounter about 5 hours before she murdered him. He'd told her to not contact him again the day she moved back to Yreka, yet two weeks later he's sending her a flirty text and asking her to send him a naughty picture.

She was waving it in his face; why wouldn't he have one last encounter with her and let her go on her merry way?

For me its not the encounter that is in question. I totally believe somehow that day they ended up in the hay. Pretty much for me the pictures spell that out.

I just had difficulty thinking he wanted her there. She had peeped before, if she got into town at 4 am and got to his house, she parked somewhere else. No one saw a car in the driveway. She peeps where she sees lights on and sees him on the computer.

Either way, she was there. I just find that everything JA says's is so suspect its hard to believe that part would be the only true part. The part she tells of getting there, seeing them play on the computer, the dog lovingly approaches for his hug etc etc For her, yes in her mind its true. But really true? Not so sure.

Yeah, come on kiddo we're taking you down to the courthouse to see your sister, today's going to be a highlight!

WTF :banghead:

Here is what I think happened on that day. I think the killer believed that they were going to play that EDITED VERSION of the sex tape. And I think she wanted her daddy and brother to hear how vulgar and mean Travis was to her.

Remember how visibly upset she was when she came out of chambers? She realized then that the entire tape was about to be played for them, and her little game backfired once again.

The check thing still gets to me. The check found after she killed Travis, was her very first car payment to him. She never paid him a dime for destroying his car. :furious:

I thought she'd been making payments on the car for months because she was buying it from him?

I tried to listen, but by the time I realized I couldn't listen until I went to my "Default Player", I missed the part I needed to hear in the beginning. I believe they discussed why ALV was in trouble, right? Anybody got a run-down on the first part of the radio show? Greatly appreciate your feedback.....

I'm listening now. Can't you play without default? Start it again. You can do that.

Mine just started by itself, but I have been not paying great attention. I usually listen a few times. KCL and BK are great. HH not so.

I wonder... was there a window in that office?
IMO she "creeped" around until dawn.
I don't think she made her presence known until
after the roommate left.

I also don't think a "check" got her in the door.
CASH? Maybe.... a gun more likely...

So true. And more importantly to me is the fact that she was part of the pioneering group of women who had to carve the field largely out of nothing, against a very hostile, patriarchal, and almost indifferent social infrastructure. It's too easy for us today to forget how much change has really occurred in the past 50 years -- but it's really an astonishing amount, though obviously there is much more work to do. I think those decades of struggle took their toll, and left her unable to really relate to men as victims.

:cow:

Agree. While there is something very wrong with her taking this case, people need to have a little bit of perspective.

I think ALV has lived in a homogeneous uber-liberal/feminist bubble in Long Beach/LA for decades, and she's honestly unaware that her matriarchal pov isn't mainstream.

Hey now..don't be hating on Long Beach or Los Angeles. ALV does not represent women in CA! Far from it. The DV laws in CA are some of the toughest around, thanks to OJ. We are way ahead of the "game" in CA.

ALV's inability to view a male as a victim, is clearly out of touch with the general public, no matter what state you live in. ALV made a mockery of the system. Her views are outdated, harmful, and her testimony in this case and for JA, was despicable. It's outrageous!

The manner in which she treated the prosecutor, the court, and the family of the victim, shows me that SHE is the one with many issues. It has nothing to do with a town or state. She has embarrassed herself in front of an entire nation. She has nobody to blame but herself. The fact is, ALV won't see that she has done anything wrong, EVER!

I do pity the males in CA, who are court ordered to be in her groups. She has ALL the control. If they don't comply, they go to jail and/or loose their kids. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes.

I think you may be right about that!

Oh brilliant, yes, you're so right! :great:

No can do - I am in Stealth Mode right now.....

ITA. I'm done with this as far as TA's comment on this tape. Come on, is Alv living under a rock that she doesn't realize one of the most common fantasies is the school girl fantasy? Look at any adult website and see the number of school girl costumes. I'm done with people trying to turn this into pedophilia. Keep it moving ALV and actually speak to a few sex therapists before making such a judgement.

I don't even see it as evidence that Travis had a "schoolgirl fantasy" with adults. Just exaggeration to push the boundaries of their phone sex -- to make it more naughty or "dirty" as Jodi put it. It's something that Jodi admitted was part of their sexual exchanges through text. They would try to top each other with kinky messages, each text growing more kinky than the one before it.

IMO she was not upset because her family was there. I dont' think she gave a d@mn they were there. Remember her cross with Juan, she had no such inhibitions.

That tape bothered her because she is a narcissist, she couldn't stand hearing herself flattering TA and practically begging him to continue the relatonship, ie the portion where she talks about TA not finding a girl like her in the mormon community. Imo her tears were tears of anger.

One thing I'll say about the check issue, if you've ever in your life had anyone that owed you money, then you totally understand how eager one is to collect payments when they are offered, even if is at 4 in the morning and unannounced.

I have had people owe me money, and 4am is not an acceptable time to be trying to get into my house, whether you have my money or you don't. Leave it on the doorstep, slip it under the door, put it under the outside mat, and step away from the building.

Sometimes I try and condense posts in an effort to save space, but doing so doesn't always get my point across. I was guessing that after living so long in Long Beach that ALV probably had a circle of long time, like-minded friends who agreed with her views on men/relationships. Kind of a "And never is heard, a discouraging word" kind of deal. She seemed shocked to find her views weren't well-received by the general public, and the AZ jury in particular. I think it might be partly a cultural thing, because I'm sure she'd face the same reaction in my GA neck of the woods. Mileage may vary.

Right. Especially the large sum of (approximately) $200 IIRC.

IF he's desperate for $200, as if it's a large sum, then I'm guessing he would body slam her over an expensive camera. Just saying....
