Is this a old well, I wonder? If it is a well that works I would expect the family to know. We have trouble with our well, in freezing weather, and we all know where it is.

The Kansas City Missouri Fire Department confirmed on Tuesday morning that they were assisting in a search of a well on N. Brighton in the case of missing Lisa Irwin.

Police were disassembling a deck structure to search the well at 39th and N. Brighton, behind an empty house.

We had our deck built over our outdoor AC unit - there was a trap door on the deck to provide acess if needed.

And IIRC, many of the homes in this area have the walk out basement - the deck could be over a well no problem in that case.

I could be wrong, but it sounds to me like it's one search. The well is behind a vacant house, so they have to disassemble the deck on that house in order to get to the well.

Heycameraman posted this picture last night and it was in the back of the Irwin home his tweet said. What the heck is that thing? The well? May not be it but it looks dangerous to be in the back yard.
