Newbie member here. Just wrapped up "Killing Season". There are some "great" suspects, and there are plenty of "possible" suspects I've seen mentioned...

Watch the segment where the directors interview the Scalise son and father who live in that private community as they ask them about their thoughts on Dr Hackett and etc...Their faces and their body language does not correlate with the conversation at all. I'll go into much more specific detail if someone tells me they were never investigated, or cleared.

As suspects though. They're perfect. Son living with his father. Outcasts of the community as they mentioned. Son sees good looking girls having orgies and partying with all these rich a-holes...While he sits at home with his dad.

In addition, the son mentions he constantly monitors the case and as the directors pointed out even comments on these posts all the time. Not telling, but suspect.

I don't know anything about them and couldnt find a single mention of them as suspects anywhere.

Additionally I always liked the multiple related killers theory.

Interesting theory @SSG92. I'm now curious also as to their POI status.

Yes I seen them in that interview, something was off for sure.

I am sure they talked to LE. No idea if they were ever considered POI's , but going on what public information is available about them, I don't see anything that would lead me to believe they ever were POI's. Living in Oak Beach isn't a crime. Having interest in a possible murder that happened in your community isn't a crime. Not liking your neighbors isn't a crime. Being a little weird isn't a crime.

LOL! That made me guffaw (in a good way). Yes I guess its not a crime to be a little weird :-)

I wrote a post about this same topic in another thread:

2 articles made me wonder about a few other residents at Oak Beach that nite: Tom Canning " a large retired landscaper" called to Barbara Brennan's home shortly after Shannon banged on her door..... whose own house boarders the marsh; and Joe Scalise "septuagenarian state park employee " and his odd son " he and his family have lived in Oak Beach for over four decades" (who both appear in the series The Killing Season and clearly have an interest in associating Hackett with Shannon's death).

Burlap , State Park employee, landscaping, long time residents of area, access to marsh dumping grounds

What business was Beachscapes conducting? I have not been able to learn much...someone posted they had a lot of customers at Davis Park, though....seemed to be a hint at more.
I read that JS jr had been working for Beachscapes and they used to be listed to an Oak Beach address. Then they were listed in FL about half hour from Daytona. With only one name attached, a former Islip resident, according to his social media and basic internet searches.

I have also read that after JS jr's arrest in PA he stopped blaming CPH. And JS was on a list of guests that MD alleges was at Brewer's that night. All new info to me, and I have been reading up since the beginning.

Another interesting aspect is the alleged "mail order Russian brides" of JS jr. Just something to look into because there are definitely Russian prostitutes working on Long Island.

Anyone have any input?
