WESH: Duct Tape Info in the Document Release

The duct tape went over Caylee's hair.

Casey didn't intend to EVER take it off
.
Bingo. And isn’t duct tape wide, so as to cover the nose & mouth on a little face? Definite premeditation. Caylee must have been so frightened, makes me ill to think about it. :rage:

There's a possibility that the duct tape isn't what killed Caylee. (Duh...:) )

KC could have been under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or just her own mental illness, or anger. She could have drugged Caylee first, to subdue her enough to finish off with the tape, in case Caylee "woke up". How sickening it is to type this! But that's what I think is a possibility.
Yup, that's what I think! I think she chloroformed her with a rag, then duct taped it in place to ensure Caylee would suffocate.

Maybe the duct tape was to keep Caylee quiet during what was coming next. We need the document information to get a better idea what that might be.

The prosecutors have come out swinging like they've got a strong case since way back. I think that's a good sign.

What i'm afraid of the evidence showing, is possible caylee fingerprints on the duct tape..I'll be sick if that is the case.

Yes, or Caylee lip, skin prints is what they are talking about vs finger prints. ugh.

In the hearing the SA indicated that they would not be ready for trial until at least the end of the year. I am confused with "supposed" info contained in the upcoming doc dump that they seem so positive about the damning info it contains. Wouldn't that speed up a trial date?

IDK but I guess it goes to intent. If you formed an opinion in an instant to kill then that's premeditated??? Rather than you lashed out, the victim died but there was no formed intent to kill the person? I am not an expert and I don't play one in real life.

I think the duct tape indicates that it was premeditated and that any jury would reason that an adult would be able to comprehend that putting duct tape on the mouth of a child and leaving it there could result in the death of the child. Whether you were doing it for another purpose such as to shut her up really doesn't matter. The jury will have a reasonable expectation that KC would /could /should have known that Caylee could possibly die from that by crying hysterically, vomiting and choking on her vomit. That in and of itself makes it premeditated. No, not all children would die, but the possibility was there.

That's what I was thinking. I'm afraid that, as bad and horrible things have been, we have not begun to scratch the surface of what happened and what KC is capable of. I think it's going to get really, really ugly.:behindbar

You know? I think we are are about to learn things that will even frighten GA and CA ... knowing that KC was even in their home for that short time between incarcerations. And I think it will give them nightmares about what could very likely have happened to them ... at any time before that.

were the prints on the sticky side or on the outside of the tape? if it's on the outside, she could argue it was her duct tape. But she could have only touched so much of it before it unrolled.

<respectfully snipped>

I think the evidence on the tape will tell us all if this was premed or not. IMO, it does not matter. I still think dp applies either way. She was 2 yrs old.

Every time the discussions turn to premeditation debates I have a hard time digesting the arguments against premeditation simply due to Caylee's age. She was a 2 year old helpless baby, and while I know there is more that legally figures into things, I just can't get passed that singular fact when I review the amount of evidence pointing toward such unnecessary cruelty and violence.

Like you, it matters not to me whether KC planned for a month or a mere moment - she killed her own defenseless baby. And for that, I believe KC should have to give up her own life for however long that may be.

Not necessarily. This investigation could have led to other investigations that have to be completed before going to trial. IIRC, there are more than one law agencies involved here. MOO.

You're assuming that the experts will come up with something to dispute the state's case -- I'm not. They get paid or not, as the case may be, for taking a look and more for testifying. I'm betting most are not going to testify. After this dump, I expect at least some of her experts to drop out. We likely won't know for sure until trial, when they're not called, but still, I think they will. Not everyone is for sale. That being said, I'll be snarky and suggest that HL may still testify. ;)

O/T How did you get so much in your sig line? There is more there than in your posts! I couldn't figure out how to do anything but add one pic! I want help!

It could quite possibly speed up a defense-offered plea deal with confession, if it contains what we hope it contains. :)

I think LP was a Carnie and guessed peoples weight, age, etc. in an earlier life. He is good at using reasonable deduction to determine an outcome and has the microphone (NG) to do it publicly.

What if he's not guessing? He came out with this the exact same day the A's requested the private meeting with KC. Could the two not be related? ie. The A's have the same 'informant' LP does?

Wouldn't be the first time. Lizzie Borden comes to mind. There are other indications such as telling Amy that Cindy was going to "give" the house to her. Then there was a rumor that she was going to get $15,000 from an insurance policy. Makes you go ... "Hummm."
