The irony to all of this including your post is...AL in her book PRIDES herself on enjoying the investigative part of her cases. She blabs incessantly about how she found things wrong with cases proceduraly etc. It appears a lot of her clients early on sought her out after the first few DP cases that she tried and won. Mort has been with AL for a LONG time and she talks him up as if he is GOD himself. I'm telling you guys seriously, as painful as it may be check it out at the library, do it.

When you say she enjoys the investigative part of the case, then you mention she founds things wrong procedurally. Is the investigating your talking about have to do with evidence, etc.. or just procedures, paper work, etc. The way you worded it, I can't tell.

Another words, is she out there trying to investigate, find KC some witnesses and proof that she needs. Or is she investigating the paperwork, trying to find some I not dotted, or t not crossed?

I've listened to the lawyers go on about adjudication, delayed adjudication, etc. They seem to believe that it would make it difficult to put Casey on the stand at the murder trial because it would affect her credibility.

Personally, I've always thought that the main reason that the defense doesn't want the felony conviction on her record had more to do with aggravating factors in the DP phase of the murder trial.

I don't think Casey could ever take the stand for one reason only. She is a pathalogical liar. By the time the State is done with their case, the jurors will have heard from the detectives to whom she lied about the "disappearance" of "that little girl". They will have heard from many of her "friends" concerning her lies. Even her parents will be forced to admit that she lied to them about her job, romances, and so much more.

If Casey does have a "compelling" story to tell, she won't be able to get it out on the stand. Who would believe a word that comes out of her lying mouth?

I agree with you 100% this is about the DP phase-period.

What has always made me more outraged for Amy is that I believe Casey did indeed slip Amy a drug to steal money the night "Amy sleep walks". I imagine not much can be proven there, but to me it indicates another serious crime and points further to Casey being very capable of murder. It wasn't just stealing if she actually drugged Amy. Is that not evil to do to Amy who had been such a sweet friend. Just saying.

Hope the Judge holds to his initial decision.

Respectfully snipped:
Hi Y'all!

I just gotta say that my stomach sank to my knees when I read this. I really, really, REALLY wanted to watch KC squirm in the courtroom. I also wanted to watch CA & GA squirm and then storm out!

This is exactly why this case will not go to court. Neither Casey nor her parents know how to behave. A jury sees that, and all their actions would do is produce a guilty verdict--which will happen anyway. A deaf jury would convict her on the basis of her reactions and her parents reactions in court. They can move the court to Timbuktu, and it wouldn't change a thing.

Thanks, MM! Though I feel cheated out of a trial, it warms my heart to know that Miss Casey will be officially a convicted criminal.

If she is given a plea deal and pleads guilty will the Pros be able to bring up these charges in the murder trial? I want the jury to know what kind of a person she is and how she steals from friends and family. The jury needs to know that she has a felony on her record. Will it be a felony if they let her plea out? I wonder why the Pros is going along with this or do they have a choice if she decides to plead guilty. If the deal is that she has to plead guilty before she is given a deal can't the Pros say no?

You know what will pizz me off? If the charges are plea-bargained down to a misdemeanor and that's what she pleads guilty to. To me, that's not justice for Amy or the Bank of America. Not to mention, her inexcusable behavior will be excused once again.

That concerns me too. In order to get her to plead guilty the Pros is going to have to give her something. It seems that is just the way it works. Why give her anything! Let her take her chances with a jury for stealing the checks. Amy has been paid back by Casey??? Where would Casey have gotten the money to pay Amy back??? If you aren't guilty of stealing you don't pay back the money you stole. She is also on video buying a bunch of stuff for herself. Why give her a plea when the Pros has a no lose situation? She doesn't deserve a plea deal. I want the Pros to be able to use her stealing conviction against her at the murder trial. Why would they go along with a deal? That is really disappointing if the Pros is going along with a deal.

Some folks are wondering if Amy is still mad and brave enough to make a victims statement if called upon to do so.....I say yes. Absolutely! I agree with you that it is likely Casey did drug Amy the night she stole money from her and the night Amy woke up in other clothes although she had not been drunk. In retrospect, I bet Amy and the others realize a lot of things Casey did. To imagine that she want to stand up against Casey ...I vote yes. I hope her friends and family accompany her when she does. Amy was the opposite of Casey, working two jobs, out there humbly trying to make it on her own, literally sleeping on friends couches trying to find her way and grow up. Until I listened to her interview with LE last night, I had forgotten just how much Casey took advantage of her and all the lies she told her and how she manipulated her , making her believe she was going to be able to move in to her home.Casey was downright cruel to the one girl who was there for her. Amy has suffered much embarrassment and harassment by the media and to her credit, for the sake of justice for Caylee she has remained private until after the trial. Yes, I think she is still angry and yes, I think she is brave enough to testify. She has shown more composure and ethics than all of the other characters in this circus, combined.

Will it be 13 felonies?

You know what's really funny in all this- the idea that anything done/not done regarding the fraud case could "impact Casey's credibility" - her whaaaat?
Surely Baez is the only person who could think she ever had any to begin with.

Bolded by me: Yeah I hope this isn't off topic because it speaks of AH and KC.
That part about her moving in is so interesting to me. Normally Kc would lie and have a way out. In this case she down right backed her self into a corner. I think there may be something there. Kc talked to TL about 15000.00 and Ca mentioned that Kc was talking on the phone to TL about I think she said 14000.00 . Kc went as far as having AH mail her camera to the Hopespring address. So, it looked like they were going to indeed move in together. I wonder if Kc and Ca were working on a plan to get GA out of the house. Wonder where this 15000.00 figure came about. I think it is possible that Kc thought she was going to get 15000.00 somehow. What do ya think? as always theories and moo

I think that sounds like trying to make a legitimate excuse for Casey's sick and sorry behavior. I just don't think she had any intention of being honest with AH in ANY regard about the move-in. When she told AH that she thought the camera had arrived at the house because "my mom said something about it", that was SUCH a clear and obvious lie, because a) the camera had NOT indeed arrived as it was sent back to AH and b) CA had questioned AH about the change of address form, but not at that point.

I dont really believe the SA will accept a misdemeanor plea deal. I like to believe that they will make her take responsibility and confess to what she did-her statement of guilt.

I do not see her being physically able to make that statement.

Can she take an Alford plea on these charges? If she can I am betting that is where she goes....

So who leaked the story of the deal to KB? Wouldnt it be something if it were AL/JB???

Pretty much everything KC has said has been proven to be a lie so you can't believe anything she may have said. Remember the old story of the "Boy Who Cried Wolf?" Well the wolf is at KC's door. Sometimes when you say you have money it is a lot easier to get money because people think you actually have money. If this makes sense. I think she may have used "I have some money at the bank, just need to get it out but for now can you loan me $$$$?" Just a guess but don't con artists do the same thing? JMO

Yes, many a older wealthy woman has been conned by the well dressed "gentleman" at the country club whose money is temporarily tied up. Casey was a Sante Kimes in the making.:furious:

Thanks for this. I was trying to remember if there was a video of Amy but I don't think there is. The video I was thinking of seeing was of Annie! (Morgan deposition re: ZG)

I don't remember any video of AH but there have been multiple pics of her posted. IIRC there is the audio recording and the transcript of her depo/interview. Here is a link w/her pic.
