I just want to throw in my opinion on Lee possibly having Asperger's. While it is not an excuse by any means I kinda understand a little more about his demeanor, especially at the deposition. My son has Aspergers and though we have NEVER used it as an excuse, my son tends to do a lot of the things that Lee does. What you need to know about Aspergers is that no two people have the same symptoms however they may have some of the same tendencies. For instance my son, whenever my son gets in trouble he laughs, he never takes ANYTHING at all serious. I use to get so mad at him because I would be so angry about something he would do and he would smile, the doctor said he is not trying to laugh at me it is how he reacts to stress. Which is what Lee was doing during the deposition, he was smiling and laughing. My son also has a very hard time making eye contact and when he does he stutters or trips over his words, sometimes it takes him 10 minutes to say a something that could have been said in to sentences. Which is something else I have seen Lee do and you walk away going HUH??? what the heck was he talking about ( I know because my son does the same thing). Also the hand thing. My son is always pulling at his hands or ringing his hands or shaking his hands or fidgeting with something he never keeps his hands still. I have seen Lee do this as well, so I can definitely believe that he passably has Aspergers. Now with that being said that does not re-leave him from any responsibility, however I can see how he was probably never treated because Casey was always so much more important and so it was probably overlooked, or CA and GA just didn't care. My son takes 3 diffrent medications and I promise you before my son was put on medications I was seriously thinking What is wrong with my child, its like he has no conscious, he is the most loving kid you could ever meet but at some times he seemed like a sociopath.
Now I just want to state that Lee is now an adult and not a child and even if CA and GA didn't get him help when he was younger as an adult he should of and could have received help by now. If it is true that he has Aspergers, which I do not know if he does or not, and on another note I have ALWAYS held my son accountable for his actions because it is never an excuse, and he knows that.
