so, would you say that 15+ years on death row aided or hurt Damien's mental health? Assuming it's the latter, it's odd to me that he's been out and free for over a decade now and hasn't lashed out, hurt anyone nor committed any crimes at all that we know of. That's a remarkable psychological turnaround from a severely troubled teenager that allegedly culminated in committing a triple homicide child murder and sat on death row for that long, isn't it?

Not to mention the other two convicted.

None of these three have gotten into any trouble since their release except for a DUI by Jessie I think. I would personally expect a deranged, psychotic teenage killer of young kids in a Satanic Blood Orgy would only get worse during max security incarceration in Arkansas. Yet here we are.

I think they're innocent. All of the evidence is circumstantial. They have some questionable qualities, but what teenagers don't. I think that the community had a beeline focus on Damien because of his hobbies and interests. To say these killings were rituals I feel is speculation. And that speculation didn't even occur to many until after they had their sights on Damien. IMO they didn't put in effort to find any other suspect because they already had their minds made up. Yes, they went to the fast food restaurant, but that was basically the end of looking into that strange man.

I agree—the case against the West Memphis Three always seemed shaky. The focus on Damien's interests feels like moral panic rather than real evidence. A lot of the case relied on stereotypes and circumstantial connections. The lack of deeper investigation into other leads, like the man at the restaurant, is frustrating. It’s hard not to feel they were unfairly targeted.

i know he had ties to FL, but not sure why he'd be in WM

I believe at the start of his book, he says he believes the killer is alive. Erskine died a while ago.....

He also thinks it was the murder site but I'm of the belief that the victims were transported and dumped there from a short distance away and that the bindings were used to ease transport.

I agree with you. I definitely think they were killed elsewhere.

I believe there were two trips made from a crime scene very nearby, which helps explain the slightly different knots used and also the difference in proximity of the bodies (one being a bit further away from the other two). Likely, the perp wanted to shift attention away from the kill site since there was probably incriminating evidence there, so he improvised and cut the shoelaces (pocket knife maybe?) in order to make them easier to carry (similar to what butchers do with animals). Perp may have had some experience working in a butcher shop or was maybe a hunter.

There are wounds on the victims that are "industrial" in nature to me. Meaning some of them weren't inflicted by animals or sticks and whatnot. One "road rash" type injury suggests to me that the victim was dragged across rough concrete or something. There's a "manhole theory" out there that makes some sense to me. The cement finishing on these could produce the type of wound I'm referencing and one of them was rather close by.

Strangely, when the supporter who came up with the theory was actively posting about it and providing on site photos, SOMEONE refinished the cement on one of those very manholes. That's a hell of a coincidence.
