I would love to provide my opinion, but I realize that this case was years ago. If I ask a question, I would rather not get a sarcastic response from other members. I am new to this case and am catching up.
I've actually found it to be easier to be a newcomer to true crime discussions because if anyone gets annoyed with me I can just use the excuse that I'm new here and don't know anything.

so as web sleuths, what can we do to find the real killers? is this just a chat at this point?
I do not think that the 3 teenagers accused and went to jail for YEARS were the killers. no one has been convicted of the killing of these three boys. as a new sleuth, am i ignorant asking for more information and direction on how we can solve this for the families?

I have so much more to say.

Can someone tell me if this site is just for chatting and opinions or do we affect the case in anyway with our investigation and research?

I can chat all day about cases. But, if we are not helping the case in any way, what are we doing here???

The movement seems to have died since they got released.

This case haunts and bothers me. I have watched at least 4 documentaries about this case and each one provides just a bit more information.
IMHO, the way the boys' bodies were found, including "hog tying" with their own shoe laces, tells me whoever did this took their time. Not only did they take their time, but the boys must not have screamed for help as they would have been heard by people in the neighborhood. And/or they knew their attacker as a supervisory figure.
Based on the interviews I have seen with Echols, Misskelley Jr and Baldwin, these "kids" were not skilled enough to pull off this crime.
Additionally, I believe the timeline of reported events rules out some crazy from the truck stop.
There is no evidence to support it, but I believe Terry Hobbs had something to do with this.

There is some evidence against Hobbs. His timeline, his own statements, the hairs, having Stevie's pocket knife...

Not enough to convict for me but enough to warrant a closer look at him

I think it’s someone who has combat experience who did this. Either that or someone who really has developed a penchant for expeditious torture. Among the key players it’s certainly Terry Hobbs who makes the most sense. I don’t know his specific background but he has low levels of emotion (possibly sociopathic).

He could also be protecting someone he knows. He doesn’t seem like ”a snitch”.
