I think that Nina intentionally left some important details out because she was focused on telling that 1) she had touched Rebecca's phone, 2) she was at Spreckels the night of 7/12, 3) Max was not a dare devil, and 4) Rebecca didn't perform CPR.

I agree. Nina was telling a specific story, emphasizing certain info that she wanted the public to hear and intentionally omitting info that would be detrimental to her or Dina.

So we know that she had touched Rebecca's phone and it was important to her that she slipped that into her story. One wonders why?

Do you know the audio time for when Nina mentioned Howard was with them? I do not recall this. TIA

Below is the info you requested:

Nina's interview at about 00:04:47

Nina stated, "Rebecca then, ah, had Howard Luber with her, but, she, she had to go back to the airport and pick him up and she dropped off my luggage for me."

This is a strange statement containing a complete reversal. So which was it? Did Rebecca have Howard with her or did she go straight back to the hospital to pick him up after dropping Nina and her son off at the hospital?

Did Rebecca have XZ with her? If not then where was XZ? Was she at the mansion with Ocean and helping the Niles family pack so the could be out by the next day?

In her interview Nina stated that Rebecca picked her and her son up at the airport after 9 PM. When Nina arrived at the hospital it was too late to see Max but she did speak with Dina. She said that Jonah was there but she was not able to see him. Nina said that a friend of Dina's who was at the hospital drove Nina and her son to Dina's house.

This was immediately after news broke that DS had a twin sister and that NR had texted Rebecca late that evening. A reporter called NR and she answered his question about the nature of her text message. Her comments were reported, resulting in increased blogosphere attention to NR and her potential involvement. She then gave a lengthy interview.

One additional thing she emphasized was the "bear hug" Rebecca gave her upon picking her up at the airport. Initially, this made me so sad for Rebecca as it sounded like Rebecca was seeking emotional support and NR reacted strangely to this. But after NR shared the story about using Rebecca's phone, I grew concerned that perhaps the very detailed description of the bear hug was another way of explaining potential DNA found at the scene. For instance, if NR's hair was found in the mansion, that could be explained by a transfer of DNA via bear hug. This is strictly a hunch on my part and should be interpreted as such.

There was also significant emphasis on the desire to have the public remember Max. My interpretation was that NR felt the public's sympathy for Rebecca somehow diminished their ability to care about Max and his tragic death.

All of the above is just my opinion.

Also, Nina said she didn't/never touched the gate. WTH was that all about?

Oh yes. The bear hug. couple that with Nina saying she handled Rebecca's phone...hmmmm.

But what about the her saying she never touched the gate? Why would she say that?

I thought that was sad also when I read it... and seemingly no emotional reaction or sympathy about the whole thing. Maybe that is because it didn't happen. :waitasec:

I wonder what is in the LE interview with Nina. But the attorneys must have that. I hope they do.

* excuses for fingerprints and DNA to be at crime scene
* changing cars
* changing phones
* late night text
* late night visit (including going around to the back of the house)
* witness description doesn't match what Nina said she was wearing
* after midnight deletion of voice message
* conflicting stories (Luger, whereabouts of Dina on Tues, etc.)
* not mentioning her son, being vague
* leading people to believe her son was much younger
* lie detector test refused

Not sitting well on the 'truth telling' side of things .... and all of this clashes against immediate grilling an animosity toward Rebecca

But what about the her saying she never touched the gate? Why would she say that?

I think the statement about not touching the gate that night was just in case they did find her prints on it, she could always say, well, I have been there several times and have touched the gate, BUT NOT THAT NIGHT!

But what about the her saying she never touched the gate? Why would she say that?

Part of it is to imply she never went through the gate because that would mean even closer proximity to a soon to be dead woman. The proximity is astounding anyway.

I'm not sure what valid reason there is for even walking back there, but she may have been afraid someone saw her (or Dina) go to the back. Otherwise, why bring up the gate at all.

I wonder if DNA or fingerprints were attempted?

Didn't Nina say she also tried the front door or something like that?

Nina also said that Rebecca dropped she and her son off at RCH.

Okay, I heard the part where Nina said in her phone interview to CBS8 that Rebecca picked up Howard (Dr. Luber) and Nina's suitcases from the airport and then dropped off Nina's suitcases at Dina's summer home.

I still do not hear where Nina mentioned her son being picked up from airport or dropped off at RCH or anywhere. Where do you hear this in the audio? TIA Nina also does not mention that her adult son ever accompanied her to RCH to see Max.

Does anyone have the transcript of this audio?

I haven't found any full transcripts only very short segments, but this partially answers my question above - except I don't see where she went back to the gate here:

"I went up to the front door and rang the bell, nothing; rang the bell a second time, nothing. I knocked on the door. I looked through the glass, nothing," Romano remembered. "It didn't look like anybody was home. The whole bottom part of the house was dark.

That overhead light was on. So that was the only light that I saw in the house. The kitchen was dark, everything was dark. So I thought, that's kind of strange because her car's here; that light's on, that's weird. So then I just thought, ‘Maybe she just doesn't want to talk to me .."

"So, I turned around and I left right away and I walked back to my sister's house, got ready for bed and went to sleep."

Isn't the kitchen in the back?

It has always bugged me that the media referred to 1124 G Ave as Dina's "summer home". She doesn't own it, Jonah purchased it in 2000, and as part of her breaking her pre-nup, she had use of it until MS turned 18. If you check the county records, it is owned by the Jonah Shacknai Trust, and the property taxes are paid by the trust (with the mailing address of Medicis headquarters). Dina doesn't even own the house she currently resides in at 6135 East Caballo Drive in PV.........it belongs to Jonah.

Per current home in PV.... was that some kind of alimony, divorce arrangement. Asking because I wondered how all that changed with Max's passing. It could be pertinent her to someone being more enraged at Rebecca for ruining things?

Yes, right by the driveway.

Then why did Nina say, "The whole bottom part of the house was dark." Could she see into the kitchen? I guess, she could be talking about as seen from the front door?

Since the divorce records of Dina and Jonah are sealed, we may never know the details. If it had been me, I would have insisted that a Quit Claim be executed. It is clear that Dina no longer has access to the G ave property: while in town for the Coronado City Council Meeting a few weeks ago, she stayed at a hotel in downtown San Diego.

The mystery of why Paul Pfingst was at the mansion is solved if this article is accurate. Paul Pfingst stated that he was at the mansion to help the family communicate with the police. The only family reported at the mansion that I know of would have been Adam. It is probable the Pfingst was present when Adam took the LTD.

I would think that PR would have scrubbed this if not true since it is reported as Pfingst's statement. The statement is on page two of the article in the link shown below.

"Former San Diego County District Attorney Paul Pfingst visited the Coronado home Wednesday night. He said that the family had been cooperating fully with investigators and that he was asked to help them in that effort."

I would imagine many things changed as a result of there being no Max. May he Rest in Peace. Alimony- maybe not, but child support and expenses- definitely. If you think about that and the % of $ ( whatever that is) in light of JS' company going public- that week and what it would have meant if they were still married- or if MS was still a recipient of $ and lifestyle, I think the stakes, anger and motives- were very high for certain family members.JMOO

This thought makes me a little nauseous.
Sometimes I wish Gloria Alred would come help RZ.

God Bless RZ and MAxi and their families. All of them.
