Since many seem to think that the Daily Beast article is a PR piece for Jonah, it seems to me since it was addressed it there that you'd take that as "Jonah's word".

BBM. I would take it as Jonah's word if, instead of "According to reports pieced together from several sources...", the reporter said "According to Jonah Shacknai....". That would be a definitive account from Jonah - not the way it was reported.
According to reports pieced together from several sources, between 6 and 7 a.m. on Monday, July 11, the twice-divorced Shacknai and his 6-year-old son, Max, drove his other children—Ethan, 13, and Gabby, 14—to the San Diego airport for a flight to Phoenix, where they were meeting their mother.

The Daily Beast article is not evidence. It is obviously a PR piece written by Jonah's dream team who spun the fabulous fable of Jonah's dream alibi.
There was nothing in that article to substantiate the claims that the older children were not at home when Max had the accident. If there were any actual proof to substantiate that it would have been released by now if for no other reason than to quell the speculation.
Imo, the older children were probably there and that is why the issue has not been put to rest as of yet.
Here is another article written by Joan Kron - the author of The Daily Beast article above.
It is an article on the merits of Restylane - manufactured by MEDICIS, Jonah Shacknai's company. And we are to trust Joan Kron's accounting of Max's and Rebecca's deaths? This author is ANYTHING but impartial IMO.

I'm not speaking for other posters, but "Jonah's word" means nothing to me. Much as "Dina and Nina Romano's words" mean nothing to me. Too many inconsistencies. Same goes for "Gore's word".
I want hard evidence.
Dina: Rebecca what happened? I said I got different pieces I dont understand this.
I dont understand I heard Maxie was walking up the stairs and he had a cardiac arrest?
Rebecca: I KNOW.
Dina: well, where did he fall from?
Rebecca: he fell from the bedroom he fell from the bedroom.
Thanks, CuriousGeorgia. Your post backs up my post that Rebecca did indeed answer Nina's questions.
Hopefully it will put to rest the posts stating Rebecca would not answer questions.
And I want hard evidence that ANYONE other than Rebecca Zahau killed Rebecca Zahau. So far there is NONE.
There is a tugboat full of circumstantial evidence, imho.
**Adam had knowlegde of knot tying by profession.
**Adam confessed to watchingbefore he found Rebecca.
**Bondagewas found on the house computer.
**Adam had unimpeded access to the main house where Rebecca was.
**Adam's DNA was not found on the rope though he claimed to cut her down.
**Women's clothing and underwear were found in the guest house where Adam stayed.
**Adam did not pass the LDT and did not retest as was recommended.
**Adam was the last to see her alive and the first to find her dear.
**Dina and Dina were reported on the property.
**Neighbors heard a scream and loud music coming from the property before Rebecca's death.
You call THAT answering an Aunt's inquiry into what happened? I certainly DO NOT. And "he fell from the bedroom?" What the heck did THAT mean? The BEDROOM? I thought he fell from the stair landing! Which story that RZ told is correct???
Any of that could be explained in other ways. Again, I state there is NO HARD EVIDENCE:
**You have no clue what type of knots Adam Shacknai knows.
**That does not mean he killed her. 98% of men wake up with a morning chubby, in my experience and in my opinion. And that also kinda PROVES AS had NOTHING to do with it...else WHY would he voluntarily tell SDSO that?
**At a time that Adam wasn't there, only RZ and XZ were. Adam had not even arrived in town.
**That does not mean he killed her and NO fingerprints or DNA of Adams was found in the Guest room.
**It was from GS's party and not RZs.
**Adam took the poly voluntarily a few hours after he found RZ, with no lawyer present, and did not fail the test. It was inconclusive, which is understandable considering the morning he had.
**That does not mean he killed her, dear.
**That was Nina and what does that have to do with Adam?
**What does that have to do with Adam?
i think that because Rebecca last saw Max in the bedroom before she went to the restroom she was saying that is where he was before he fell. When Rebecca said that Nina should have asked if that is were she thought he was when she was in the bathroom. If Rebecca already stated that she did not see the fall then how could she really answer that question?
If Rebecca was told by Jonah that the doctors thought Max had a cardiac arrest and fell (Dr. Peterson) then maybe she was just repeating back what she was told. I don't think Rebecca knew exactly what happened. I think maybe Jonah told what the doctors thought about the cardiac arrest before the fall.
But there's even more possible circumstantial evidence in my opinion. What about the following additional circumstantial possibilities:
**Rebecca had head wounds that could have rendered her unconscious and unexplained tape residue on both legs.
**There were three unexplained used gloves at the scene.
**There was no suicide note.
**There was a doctor's report that Max was suffocated before her fell.
**There were conflicting reports about who was present when Max was injured.
**Rebecca stated that Dina was going to kill her.
**Dina believed Rebecca harmed Max.
**Dina had issues with Rebecca before her death.
**Rebecca had no other known enemies per family and media reports.
**Dina had a past history of violence.
**Rebecca did not have a history of violence, depression, mental illness or drug and alcohol abuse.
I would think, IMO, that RZ would be more helpful, given the situation.
Maybe she didn't know what happened. If Max and the older kids started planking when she went to the bathroom then maybe they helped Max get up on the scooter while they balanced it on the rail for a picture. Maybe Ocean was curious and jumped up on the rail to see what they were doing and he accidentally knocked them over. Maybe that is why Max said "Ocean".
If the last place she knew that Max was, was the bedroom, before she went to the bathroom then that was the only other answer she could give especially if Nina kept pursuing if Rebecca stated that she didn't know because she did not see what happened. Imo, Nina could not accept that Rebecca did not know what happened but continued to dog her anyway.
Also, if Ocean knocked Max and the scooter off the railing and Max loudly exclaimed "Ocean" as he fell and crashed maybe that was the last thing Rebecca remembered. Rebecca was also traumatized, shocked and confused, imo.
IMO, almost any woman in that situation would tell what happened a thousand times if that is what it took. Nina was Max's Aunt and it is obvious that they had a special relationship, IMO.
Nina wanted to know how her little, adorable, just turned six-years-old nephew's accident happened. IMO, that is not "dogging" someone. That is an Aunt that is heart sick over what has happened and wants answers from the mouth of the grown woman that was there watching him. That RZ was quiet the way she was is very telling to me.
I find Max's accident very odd, and I find RZ's suicide odd, in light of Max's accident. But I have no doubts that she killed herself. The way she was acting that Tuesday is very strange, IMO.
You call THAT answering an Aunt's inquiry into what happened? I certainly DO NOT. And "he fell from the bedroom?" What the heck did THAT mean? The BEDROOM? I thought he fell from the stair landing! Which story that RZ told is correct???
Yes, I do.
Nina asked those two questions, Rebecca answered them. YOU backed up my post with yoursAfter repeatedly posting a falsehood.
Rebecca also answered LE and paramedics questions, I'm willing to bet.
NR is fortunate Rebecca was as sympathetic and willing to help Maxie's extended family as she did.
Perhaps if Jonah had chosen another to be his partner (who didn't possess Rebecca's admirable character) and that partner had taxi duty and had to listen to Nina's rude and accusatory questioning, Nina would find herself hitching or hiking.
