What if Casey USED Caylee as a bargaining chip with her parents?

  • #21
I also think if she just "gave" her to them, she would not feel that she was the one in control and calling all the shots, and she would have no bargaining power. They should have just let her put her up for adoption if that is what she wanted to do...I know that would be hard for a grandparent, but in the end, Casey was not cut out to be a mother and here we all are...

I doubt she was receiving public assistance since she had to convince everyone she had a job...but where WAS she getting money? Her parents HAD to think she had at least SOME money from her job, so what did they think she did with it and how much did they provide her with? Maybe she was selling drugs for money...hell, maybe she was working in a meth lab...???

We really don't know her spending habits apart from that last month.

Her family probably paid almost all Caylee's expenses & Casey would be expected to have cash to pay for a trip to McDonalds or an afternoon out.

Knowing Casey, she told them she was putting her money in the bank to save for Caylee's future AND maybe also so they could get their own place soon. So if she asked for $20 here or $50 there, they wouldn't be too concerned.

Her clubbing probably didn't cost much.... she looks like she wouldn't have much trouble getting guys to buy her drinks.

I think Casey probably let other people pay for her whenever she could & if she had to pay them back... she'd get it from her family.... asking or stealing it.

In hindsight we ALL see that's true.

Millions of young mothers are like Casey.... too young to be parents & their parents step up to the plate financially & emotionally & hope the daughter will grow up & become a responsible adult.

I don't blame Cindy one bit for telling Casey not to give the baby away.... that they'd find a way to get through this.

If Cindy made one mistake, it was not taking an active interest in Caylee's daycare arrangements herself... if she believed Casey was working, she should have made sure to have all the info... who the babysitter was, phone number, address, references.

It's hard to fault the grandparents for thinking Casey wasn't a TOTAL f.u. & could handle some things on her own.

They said she was a mooch and she was stealing from everyone she could steal from, it appears!

I know that has been mentioned numerous times on this board but I just don't think it is true. JMO

I do find it curious that LE would not want to find out who Caylee's father was, in order to rule out non-custodial abduction. Just for investigative purposes. (Not that CA has been forthcoming with relevant info anyway!)

I'm sure LE would do everything they can to determine paternity on the off chance Caylee was taking in some custody type battle.

I won't be surprised if they've done a whole lot of DNA tests on potential fathers..... from the beginning Cindy seemed to be hiding whether she knew the father or she didn't.... she said she forgot his name.

Anything is possible!! Whatever kind of "job" CA had,if any besides stealing, she wanted it kept secret! So perhaps it was illegal or she was ashamed:confused:

Another unbelievable little tidbit that was forgotten:rolleyes:

I think with the fighting that was going on over the large amount of money that Casey had stolen from her grandparents, and the discovery of the parents credit cards likely being maxed out, the gravy train was drying up for Casey and she knew it, and she knew she could make her OWN way easily with her looks and cunning, but could not include a child that she considered "baggage" in her scenarios of survival...so she did something to her...

Yeah right, she forgot her only grand daghter's father's name? Come on Cindy-you have got to stop with the circles and walk the straight line of truth...

That's what's SO aggravating about Cindy.... she doesn't know HOW to speak.

If she had said, she doesn't want to make the name public, people would totally understand. Coming up with such an unbelievable response.... well that's in the same category as Casey's whole ZG fantasy....

as Judge Judy says, 'If it doesn't SOUND true, it probably isn't.' lol

Wouldn't it be something if her Grandparents pressed charges next against CA?

It would have been far better to say nothing at all...and if they want to save any diginity that they can muster up, they should show up and join in the search for their beloved baby girl...she deserves that from them...

I think part of the insanity we see in Cindy is somewhere along the way Casey did indeed make a threat about Caylee, either veiled or direct, and we are seeing major denial and guilt... and a desperate need to say Casey is mother of the year and protecting her child.

I'm tend to agree with you. I'm absolutely sure that Casey used Caylee when it came to the Anthony's - and for that matter anyone else she thought it might work with. (just think back to the sob story about the father being killed on the way to Caylee's b-day party). I'm sure the Anthony's are being eaten alive with guilt and doing the I coulda/shoulda haves and if onlys because they genuinely loved Caylee. And Casey knew it. IMO she used their love - with some threats mixed in if they were being 'stubborn' - to get her way at every turn.

To take it a step further, I firmly believe that if Cindy, George or even Lee had anything to do with or even know what really happened to Caylee, Casey would have turned on them in a heartbeat - probably within the first 24hours. She sure wouldn't protect them or cover for them! She'd paint herself innocent and put all the blame on them.

The only person she's loyal to is herself. She's the sun and the world revolves around her. Caylee's 'purpose' was to make her shine more brightly and help her get her way more easily.

There is no doubt in my mind that she used Caylee in her relationship with her parents.

And, you heard Cindy's threat to take custody in one of the phone calls.

Those two were using Caylee as a weapon to control eachother.

BTW-- This may sound trivial. But, it thought it was creepy that all three were named "Marie."

Yep, I would think that as Caylee was beginning to talk more and more clearly and understand things much better that was BAD for Casey...how could she leave her in the car and drug her to get her to sleep when she might TELL the money train on her...

and I would almost BET that she threatened Cindy that she would leave and they would NEVER see Caylee again, and unfortunately, she meant it in a way that Cindy likely could never have imagined...

Poor Cindy-
Poor Caylee-

Not poor Cindy. Cindy has been enabling KC. Cindy should have taken custody as soon as Caylee was born. She knew KC was irresponsible, immature, a liar and a thief.

No "what if" about it.

IMO, Casey didn't mind being a mother when Caylee was little & slept most of the time & she was something all her friends gushed over... when Caylee got older it became too time consuming & worst of all... Caylee was old enough to start telling her grandparents what Casey & she did when they were together. THAT must have been a BIG problem for Casey.

But having Caylee was an easy way to get money out of her parents, so I also have to wonder if they were starting to give her trouble for NEVER having money to take care of her daughter.... they might have thought she was wasting her whole 'paycheck' on drinking & whatnot & threatened to stop paying for EVERY LITTLE THING. They'd pay for Caylee's medical & the food she ate THERE but no more cash for incidentals.

IF Casey has to start spending her own money on Caylee... THAT'S another big problem... she doesn't have money AND any she 'found' she surely would rather spend it all on CASEY, not Caylee.

A kid who can tattle on you AND who costs more & more as she gets older.... is a LIABILITY.

And, who might grow up to be more attractive. More likeable.

Does anyone know if CA ever received any Public Assistance check, being that she was a single, NON-working single parent??

She always lived off the folks or the friends, and what she could steal. She never had her own address.

She would never have taken a job at Wal-Mart.

Cindy also said that KC refused to tell her who the father was. But, even of KC had told Cindy... who's to say she was telling the truth? She lied about Jesse G being the father, until after the DNA test.

KCs Uncle Rick, if that's who he was, said he thinks KC got pregnant at a Christmas party on 12-4. He thinks she really doesn't know who the father is.

Look how she used Caylee with LP to get him to do her bail-she said if she was out she would help find her daughter...and so he got her out and she would not even speak to him, on the advice of her attorney of course...I think her free ride was over with her parents and that there was no reason, in her sociopathic mind, to keep Caylee around any longer since she would be of no "benefit" to her, so she found a way to do away with her and thought that she could make it look like a kidnapping scenario...

To me, this is the real tragedy, that Cindy insisted that Casey keep a baby that she didn't want. Caylee could have been adopted by some loving couple and could have grown up to be a "normal" person. She would not have grown up around this dysfunctional family. IMO, neither Cindy or Casey is capable of being a good mother.
