What is Misty hiding, IF anything?

Well, the van would have been on Tyler, since it appears that Chelsea was at Lindsay's house. Tyler isn't that far a walk. But I have yet to see anything that proves the cousin borrowed the van at all.

No, Chelsea had borrowed the van because her vehicle was hit by a drunk driver and Chelsea lives nearer Crescent City (that's why law enforcement did that latest search along Hwy 17 south toward Crescent City.) And that's where cousin Joe stayed when he was in Fl.

Chelsea didn't bring the van back to Lindsy (on Tyler St.) until after she had received the call about Haleigh missing.

I just listened to it. He doesn't seem to be trying to hide anything. After hearing this I can't believe that RC was so eager to marry her. I think this should remove doubt as to whether Misty was doing drugs.

Forgive me and thank you txsleuth! I should've known better than to rely on news reports for accuracy Which leaves us right back at square one to your question. Except I now know (I think) that Chelsea and Timothy lived out of town correct? So it likely would have to be JO who drove it since van (owned by Lindsy, borrowed by Chelsea) would NOT have otherwise been in close proximity thus would've entailed cousin driving over and picking up Misty if Misty had any access to or was in van that nite... right? :waitasec:

TN Gives Misty Story To Tell For Timeline!!!

If we are to believe all that LE gives us .... then Misty is not a suspect, but is the key to finding Haleigh and what has happened to Haleigh. I suspect that is because they know she is not giving them HER correct timeline. I suspect that last detective flat out called her on it and she walked out. Pretty gutsy! I now suspect Misty was not in the MH at all during the earlier evening hours. With all the 'side show stories' showing up and those timeline events ... I suspect she was called upon by TN and RC to help them, simply by telling LE what they wanted her to. No wonder her story gets confused at times ... of course she couldn't do a re-enactment. Misty has been sucked in way over her head.

Teresa Neves had high public opinion ratings until she gave those nuclear "pre-wedding" interviews... TN is lying and TN is lying about a lot of things ... not the very least is the son she is trying to protect at all costs. Naturally they stand solidly behind Misty.

I've always suspected Misty's been hiding the fact she left the mh and was not there during the entire time Ron was at work. And I felt there would have to be some sort of dual complicity for Ron to simply overlook. But I'd also assumed it was Ron as well as LE from whom Misty was hiding the truth. For any dad loyalists who thought I'd been blindly against dad...the truth is eight weeks in and this is the first time anyone's actually depicted this in a plausible way or succeeded in getting me to even consider a scenario involving dad. Assuming for the moment Misty DID leave, and if while she's out dad leaves work to check on her and the kids and then after finding Haleigh into something she shouldn't be or w/e, perhaps he, and not Misy, is there when the incident occurs. It could result in the shared culpability seemingly entailed, but if dad views this as an outcome or indirect result of Misty not being where she was supposed to be, it's even harder to fathom dad would marry the one who in his mind would likely be blamed. The suggestion about TN takes the term "helicopter parent" to a whole new level--and by comparison would make CA a paragon of "tough love." JMO

Watching her and listening to her has brought me to the conclusion that she knows exactly what happened and the ONLY reason for her to cover is little baby boy RC. I'm more surprised that if witnesses saw Misti out partying, someone has not come forth to the media and gotten their 15 minutes of fame.

People may have come forward to the police. But given RC's reputation and the fact that his own child is missing and presumed dead, I'd venture to guess that most people aren't eager to publicly announce their role, albeit peripheral, in the case---it's just not wise to rile a group of people willing to circle the wagons around a man not even remotely cleared in the disappearance of his child. (If he's willing to harm his baby, what would he do to someone else? If his family is willing to protect him in the circumstances--how far will they go?)

The allure of fifteen seconds on Nancy Grace just isn't that great.

The only thing she would protect this hard is her own son. Not Misty, so Misty can just crash there to provide basic services for the Cummings family. It has to be more than just loss of Junior's custody ... it just has to contain the 2 elements of protecting Ronald and trying to keep Junior. Protecting Ronald from a serious charge would be first thing in her mind to me. moo

TN would rip Misty to shreds if she believed for one nano second that Misty hurt the child. This is all about Ronald. Can he be Teflon-Ron again? Time will tell!!! moo

I voted she was covering for Ron. I was on the fence about this til I saw mthe Today show interview and at 7:04 when Misty is asked why there were inconsistancies, watch her left arm nudge Ron ever so slightly. That nudge to me says, "hey, you answer this, you put me in this position" she even looks at Ron for an answer before she says "I don't know."

Nor can I, but I was lambasted on this site when I posted that I had called LE on two of my children. I assisted LE in the case and they saw me every visiting day thereafter. They learned that there are consequences to illegal behavior and now as adults are law abiding citizens. My middle child has often warned new foster children in our family.."watch out, my Mom doesn't play and she will call the LE at the drop of a hat." Lesson learned, I say. NO way I would cover....but then TN is definately NOT me.
