What Is the Defense Strategy #2

Has the defense clued George and Cindy in on what is going to happen? I am confident the defense is going with the 'it was an accident and she was terrified of George because of..........whatever. Does anyone think the defense has warned George and Cindy of what is coming? I am curious as to whether or not this is why the Anthonys have been so quiet for a while now. They can't give interviews saying KC is innocent if they know this is coming. Will this change their testimony because once the Defense says, yes, KC did it, there is no reason to lie about the smell, the dryer sheets, when they last saw KC, etc. etc. Will the defense ask that they be considered hostile witnesses? Does anyone think the defense might not call them at all, but just cross examine them when the state calls them?

Every single thing they have said to anyone, media, state, protesters outside their home, etc. is going to be shown to be a lie by the defense strategy, at least in my opinion. How are they going to deal with it? Will the defense go after them hard, or will they questions them with sympathy? It is going to be very ugly, either way, isn't it?

My theory now after today's denials will be:

How did she get pictures of the skull? Those pictures were suppose to be sealed by the judge. Does anyone feel defense would be so bold as to release pictures and then blame SA for letting them leak? jmo

Maya Derkovic is not going to be called by State. They said this at the hearings. Just fyi.

Also, opening statements are expected to be 1 and 1/2 hours long each.

That 7 minute thing must have been for a potential meeting the judge said he was available for regarding opening statements because that is what he was talking about at the time. An hour sounds more like it. jmo

I just re -watched the video (Part 1) of C and GA's visit to see KC at the jail on July 25, 2008. (Thanks, Patty G)Just that one video alone makes you wonder how ANY of the possible defense strategies mentioned so far would fly. It makes me wonder who I can trust anytime, anywhere. She is the smoothest liar I have ever been made aware of! Sorry if I'm not supposed to call her a liar but we have seen it and heard it and read it over and over since day 31.

See, I don't think she is a smooth liar at all. I think she is as transparent as glass. Especially when Cindy says is that Zanny's apartment, and repeats it because it is obvious KC is lying - she answers something completely different but starts with a yes and then says she had such and such. An answer she thinks she can get away with because she says yes in the beginning but at the end is adding something different so she can always say, I never said that.

But Cindy knows she is lying and wants her to tell the truth so she says I know whos apartment it is, is it Zannie's or maybe she is saying is it Ricardo's . I forget but you get the gist. And after Cindy tells KC that, she admits it because she knows Cindy knows.

Defense strategy: Get trial delayed to after May 21, 2011. Then do nothing because the world is going to end on May 21, 2011.

Saturday: Throw a big bash because we did it! The trial doesn't start until May 24th!

Sunday morning: Oops. We're still here. We need a strategy! PANIC!

ETA: In all seriousness, I have no idea what their strategy is at this point. Probably desperately point the finger at how messed up Casey is, and that makes it not her fauth somehow. I don't know. It'll be interesting to see what happens at trial.

Cheney Mason will never let her take the stand.

He can't stop her if she decides to take the stand. She can decide to fire any and all of her attorneys if she so chooses at any point during the trial.

Now it would be absolutely stupid for her to do that, but if she doesn't think things are going her way or think that they are arguing her case to her satisfaction, she can take the stand in her own defense or fire them. I don't think she would go so far as to fire them, but ya never know.

I believe Beaz opening statements will say that Casey has multiple personality disorder.

Would that be similar to Sybil? Kinda like, ICA is really Z-T-N and whomever other people she made up (Juliette Lewis, etc)?

They will then claim that they are going to show that their client had nothing to do with Caylee's death, and that while she was partying she had no idea of Caylee's whereabouts.

They will say that Cindy had no idea what happened to Caylee either, and she mistakenly believed that Casey did, and that is why she called 911, and kept calling Casey to inquire about Caylee. It will come out that Casey was afraid of George Anthony, and at some point figured out he was responsible for Caylee's death. Because she feared for her own life, she protected her father by keeping silent.

They will claim the whole ZFG story was made out of duress because Casey so feared for her own life.
In other words, George was the reason that story came out.

I kinda think you are on to something here. Just wonder how they will work Casey's car in to the story.

The more I think about it, the more this makes sense. The defense doesn't have to outright SAY that George did it, they just cause doubt that Casey did it. Taking this defense explains almost everything (the truth explains it better, of course, but this will fly, I think.) It would explain the 31 days (for the majority of it, Casey thought Caylee was with her parents). It would explain her behavior for 31 days (again, she thought Caylee was fine). It explains the duct tape and the other Anthony house items found with the body. The defense is going to spin it like the sixth sense movie, where they find an alternate explanation that we never thought of for each piece of evidence, and when viewed from the angle of their story, makes sense to their defense.

I don't see how JB can use dysfunctional family as a defense. Those jail house tapes with ICA yelling at her parents and telling them to let her talk shows that she had absolutely no fear of them at all and that she ran the whole household. The parents were afraid of her!!! Not the other way around. Its like we have to placate Casey and keep her calm at all costs. I am sure the SA is going to blow that theory right out of the water with all the tapes of her telling at her parents etc and how they walk on egg shells around her! If her father was molesting her and she was afraid of him she would definitely not talk to him the way she does.

I hope somewhere along the way the DT is able to explain how the hell Casey was able to wear a tshirt that had her "missing child" on it, and ride around in vehicles that were painted up for Caylee..knowing she was in the woods on the side of the road like trash.

Along with many other things, this will also show what kind of monster she is.

I agree, she is the worst I've ever seen. Just because she doesn't blink as she's doing it means nothing to me. She simply doesn't care or have a conscience imo. How about her telling CA that she told her Zanny had a key to the house to explain other things? My mouth dropped opened at the sheer audacity and stupidity. The bank holdup story? Really gives you a lot of insight into how much she must have gotten away with for so long from friends, family, etc. She didn't even have to put any effort into telling good lies. No doubt about it she has some sort of mental issues. I won't disagree with the defense if any part of that is presented at trial. I don't think the DT will even need to spell it out for the jury. They'll see it themselves. ICA was said to lie about little things she didn't need to and go on and on about nothing. Diarrhea of the mouth so to speak. If the defense were to try and have any kind of defense saying she is an uncontrollable liar (plenty of proof of that) it doesn't explain sufficiently the string she told regarding Caylee to me as anything but evidence of guilt. Although she lies to lie and talks to talk she has one heck of a history of lying about anything she ever needed to cover up for like the money she stole from many, Caylee's father, job and school, etc. A certain amount has to be arrogance. Many dismissed Scott Peterson as being too stupid to live, dumb as a box of rocks, etc. to name a few but I sincerely see ICA has him beat by leaps and bounds. IMO there is quite a combo of issues going on and diabolical does stick in my mind for both.
