What Kind Of Defense for Casey in a trial?

Yes, it was JG that took her to the hospital, but no date was ever given or approximate time frame that I recall.

In order to do this effectively, I would need to speak with Casey about what happened. Unfortunately, none of us will know her story until the trial, we only have the prosecution's case. I do think there is more to this case than has been revealed to the public at this time. I look forward to the day that this information is revealed and we can all get a better understanding of what happened and why.

If JB gets his defense info here than I REALLY feel sorry for Casey - he's the professional, why on earth would he come here??

They don't have to prove innocence (good thing,huh), they just have to raise a reasonable doubt in one jurors mind. We have a long way to go in this mess-unless KC confesses (never happen IMO). Even if they find Caylee the defense will try to raise doubt about that! Good thing we have each other here, we're like a support group that gets together for group therapy so the crazies don't get us too!!:crazy:

Every piece of evidence that is processed must be interpereted. Most of the time there are numerous ways to interperet that evidence and experts to argue each interperetation (including the death ring on the hair and human decomp test results). A good attorney would be able to give jurors plenty of reasonable doubt on the current charges. However, We are only privy to bits and pieces of the evidence that LE has collected and I would LOVE to see the AMSCOT security video as well as Annie's interview. I am hoping their is something in there that would be irrefuteable...

Jose has told us that all will be explained at trial. He will reveal to us how KC is innocent of any wrong doing and her actions and behaviors since Caylee's disappearance will all make sense.

Someone is going to be thrown under the bus.
Someone else will be blamed.
Someone else did it.
KC is willing to give up her life to protect someone else.

I can't wait to find out who that someone else is!

No amount of posturing by the defense is going to change the facts. Casey's lies are going to be viewed for exactly what they are, LIES. There is no nanny to be presented because such a person does not exist. No credible leads that anyone has seen Caylee, EVEN with a HUGE reward. And on, and on, and on, and on.....

Casey cannot take that stand, period.

LE cannot be accused of, "a rush to judgment." Well, they can be, but it won't be believable. IMO, attacking LE would be the defense's worst strategy. Baez can only hope that jurors like him, because they will not like his client. If he goes on the attack against LE, jurors will also hate him. I say this because they seem to be the ONLY ones who seem to care about Caylee's whereabouts.

If Koby takes the stand and what he says comes across the way it does on Nancy Grace, he too will be easily discredited. You can't say 50% of the automobiles tested at the Tennessee labs tested positive for chloroform when they only tested, TWO! Now, Koby's a pretty good guy and is very intelligent, but his bias shines thru loud and clear on this case. IMO, hired guns will get nowhere. The state will use the experts that did the testing.

Edit: I quit my post abruptly because I kept trying to open the thread in another window and it appeared to have been deleted. I guess the thread was merged (didn't see that till I posted to it). Well, since it's now merged, I'm going to leave it as is because I'm not interested in a discussion that's now up to page 14 when I've not participated all along.

Gosh...... I can't think of anything to say in her defense. And I really tried!

I guess it would help to know what the prosecution theory will be though. As far as the alleged theory that KC wanted to be free of Caylee, I'd have to put Cindy on the stand to testify that she would have adopted Caylee in a heartbeat (and I think she would be telling the truth). The prosecution will have to show why KC would never have allowed this.

If I were her lawyer, I'd take her out of the equation completely. She wouldn't speak at all. She'd sit and look defeated/pitiful/wiped out...maybe even shed a tear now and again. I would expend all of my energy arguing the evidence-discount the evidence and establish reasonable doubt-I don't have to prove the baby is alive-I just have to prove that KC "might not" have murdered her. I wouldn't even have to add ZFG for that, though I probably would-any confusion I cause could only help my defense. There would be no need to give KC any kind of background other than the multiple witnesses that called her a "good mother" in their written statements. Let the prosecution stomp on her credibility and say "OK"-CA is right-a liar does not a murderer make.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe Baez might try to get Casey out of trial by trying to prove that Casey might be insane - I don't see how he can because it's already been stated by professionals AND Casey that she is 100% there

Reading back on the various posts of this (now merged) thread, I think most of us are stuck on this one. There is nothing to substantiate any of KC's current "story". I think the best move the defence could make at this point, if they are genuinely concerned about protecting their client's best interests, is to plea a deal...But somehow, I doubt that KC will agree to that.

The defense will occur mostly before the trial. It will all hinge on what they can get thrown out of court evidence wise and which witnesses they can dig up dirt on. Once they are in court they won't explain Casey's behavior, they will focus on the state not proving their case and presenting an expert witness that says the opposite of what the prosecution's expert witness says. There have been many cases where the jury was so confused by the conflicting experts that they disregard or minimize the value of that evidence and focus on something else. imo

I think the defense will have to come up with some story to explain the lies and inconsistencies. And I bet it will be about as fantastic and unprovable as the Zanny story. And I really think KC should have a female lawyer-a woman representing a young mother I think is more sympathetic. Also I think the jurors will pick up on that hinkey vibe JB and KC put out when they're together.

Fairytale Defense: Casey was on a meth high for days and only vaguely recalls leaving Caylee with ZFG - a woman she met at Fusian. She also let ZFG use her car. Casey saw the car abandoned, smelled the bad smell, saw Caylee's doll still in there so did not want to drive it again. She left it. She was so shook up and scared she acted in ways that don't make sense to normal people. She has lied to cover up the embarassment of her irresponsibility.

I for one DO believe JB reads here. Why not see what people are thinking? The A's read here and are desperate for "theories" for her defense.

He is not one of the greats and seems like he will be grasping for straws, IMO.

So that being said I do fear they can get some great ideas from your very good/smart thoughts here, and I dont want to see him get her off.
