I voted 40 years or less mainly because as much as I would love to hear otherwise and wishing that the jury had heard everything that WE know and have heard for the last 3 years, I don't think the SA was ABLE to meet their complete burden with what they had.

I think they are absolutely heroes for Caylee and for the State of Florida but I think they came short of the legal burden.

That's why I think the DP will never happen and LWOP will even be a stretch.

I hope differently of course but I try to look at things objectively for the purpose of this poll.

So to be fair, I've considered both pre-meditated and an accident.

For this to be an accident, this could have been a drowning, could have been over medicated, or? So as an accident, ICA moved into coverup mode. Why? Fear of her parents? I couldn't see any indication at all that ICA was afraid of either of her parents - in fact saw many examples of when this woman ruled this family and was amazingly disrespectful to both her parents. Sp it must have been consequences vs saving her child. Accidents have emotional consequences but no legal consequences. So instead of calling 911 to see if her child could be saved, she took the time to put three pieces of duct tape over her face, apply a heart sticker on that duct tape, and almost immediately either put her in the trunk of the car, or took the time to wrap her in a blanket, two black plastic bags and another cloth bags, and put her in the trunk, to throw her off the side of the road a few days later. Lots of time to tell someone...but no.
Oh yes, and she put the duct tape on post-mortum - well no - because duct tape does not stick to anything wet.

If this was an accident, and she was just afraid of her parents, and the consequences, but was feeling grief, she must have shown it somehow - so it was in this weird way she was partying. I didn't see any change in her behavior at all except that she no longer had the problem of caring for her child. She was a wild one before Caylee "disappeared", and was one afterwards. We've seen the pre-event pictures.

The sexual abuse card? Did we see evidence? No - was we saw was a very very clever move by the defense team. There are those out there who always believe a sexual abuse claim because who would lie about that? Who indeed - maybe a woman who killed her child and doesn't want to pay the penalty?

The accident theory doesn't work for me. I can't come up with one thing that points me toward an accident. Pre-meditated? One, the presence of chloroform. Two, the time it would take to place that duct tape on a child's face. And it wasn't one piece it was three. The dump location. Never reporting the child missing. Dumping the decomp car. Lying to police about the Nanny. The list goes on.

The SA doesn't have to prove cause of death or motive. They don't. The jury is asked to examine the totality of the evidence and look for reasonable doubt as to the charges. I believe they will not find it.

As to the sentence - when push comes to shove, I'm a Canadian. It's not even about not believing in the death penalty, it's that I can't envision it - if that makes sense. So I voted LWOP and suspect it may very well be the death penalty. A cruel and heinous crime ..... IMO.

I don't think the jury needs to know HOW Caylee was killed, just that it was classified as a Homicide in order to make their choice.

I don't think it's very hard for this jury to put two and two together to come to the conclusion that Caylee was likely killed with a combination of C. Injection ( just speculating) or some sort of object with C. on it/in it and Duct tape put around her mouth and nose.

I hope HJP throws the book at Casey and makes her shed tears we have never seen before.

How long before she goes to Prison once she is found Guilty? is it the same day/night? or a couple of days after?

Oh, and the Prison she is going to should have a Big "Welcome Home Casey! Banner.

The facts in the beginning are always the truth. The facts need to be revisited by the prosecution in closing. Not the muddied waters. 31 days of party girl, searches on computer, cadaver dogs, abandoned car, smell in trunk, duct tape, plastic bags, heart on duct tape all traced back to casey anthonys house. She shows no remorse, only cries for herself, happy when jury out, sad when jury in. Who cares about affair, or mother trying to save daughter from DP, Kronk finding remains, thats all he did was find them, nothing else. Bam Gulity of premeditated murder of Caylee

OT please move to appropriate place.

RE: sleepy, tired yorkie pets
Has anyone raised the possibility that ICA was "testing" chloroform on the dogs?

Here is another reason I believe it will be LWOP:

These are the only woman on Death Row in Florida Right Now:

Tiffany Cole

WF, born 12/3/81, was sentenced from Duval County on March 6, 2008 for her role in the double murder of a Jacksonville couple who was buried alive. She is currently on death row at Lowell Correctional Institution.

Emilia L. Carr

WF, born 8/4/84 was sentenced from Marion County on February 22, 2011 for the kidnapping and murder of her co-defendant’s ex-wife, Heather Strong, 26. The co-defendants, who were dating at the time the time of the murder and have a child together, are accused of having lured Strong into a storage trailer behind Carr's mother's home, duct-taping her to a chair, putting a plastic bag over her head and suffocating her. The victim’s body was found a month later (March 2009) in a shallow grave. The jury recommended the death penalty by a 7-5 majority. Carr is currently on death row at Lowell CI Annex.

Margaret A. Allen

BF, born 1/23/66, was sentenced to death from Brevard County on May 19, 2011 for torturing and killing her housekeeper, Wenda Wright, whom she thought had stolen money from her purse. The jury unanimously voted for the death penalty for her. She also got a life sentence for kidnapping. Prosecutors said the torture went on for hours before Wright was strangled with a belt. Allen's roommate, James Martin, and nephew, Quinton Allen, were both convicted for their part in helping her try to bury the body in a shallow grave.

Ana Marie Cardona

WF, born 11/26/61, was sentenced from Miami-Dade County for the torture murder of her three-year-old son. The boy was nicknamed "Baby Lollipops" because of the tee shirt he was wearing when the police found his beaten body. The sentence was vacated on November 22, 2002. She was re-sentenced to death in June 2011 by Circuit Judge Reemberto Diaz in a Miami-Dade courtroom.

And only 2 women that were ever put to death:

Judias Goodyear Buenoano

WF, born 4/4/43, was sentenced in Orange County on 11/26/85, for the 9/16/71 death of her husband by poisoning him with arsenic. Nicknamed the "Black Widow," Goodyear was also convicted (and sentenced to life) for the May 13, 1980 drowning murder of her paralyzed son in Santa Rosa County. She had two death warrants signed and stayed. On March 30, 1998, the state of Florida executed Bueonano. She was the first woman to die in the electric chair in Florida.

Aileen C. Wuornos
WF, born 2/29/56, was sentenced from Volusia County on 1/31/92 for the December 1, 1989 shooting murder of a Clearwater businessman. She has been implicated in the deaths of several other men. She was executed on October 9, 2002.

I was uncertain as to whether the jury would recommend death, until the defense presented their side. IMO, that sealed the deal in my mind. The last day of testimony put on by the defense seemed to me to only bolster the state's case against Casey. HUGE mistake putting the whole Anthony family up there to talk about pets dying. Then all the bagging, and taping talk. That just had to keep putting thoughts of what Casey did to Calyee in the minds of the jurors. Why Baez did that is beyond me.

Did I miss something, or is this secretly a brilliant defense move?

I can see Casey getting sentenced to death now.

George's suicide letter proves he had no involvement in this case whatsoever including the alleged cover up and molestation. Furthermore, the defense's theory that Roy Kronk hid Caylee's body for months so he could cash in on the $5000.00 reward money is an insult to the jury and to the public. Where did he find her body? Where did he hide it? In his own backyard in another county? If it wasn't so sad, it would be laughable.

Also, the cops gave her an out at Universal. They gave her examples of accidents involving children. Nothing. She let them continue believing Caylee was with the nanny.

The jailhouse video where CA mentions the media saying Caylee drowned. Casey's reply. "surprise surprise". She sounded disgusted that the media would even think that. It went against her fairytale of the kidnapping story.

I think many including this jury wanted to believe it was an accident. I don't think anybody wants to believe a young mom is capable of the brutal murder of her child. The evidence presented by the State has proven that nobody but Casey Anthony is responsible for murdering her daughter and disposing her like trash. The accidental drowning will forever remain in Casey's imaginary world. In the real world, our world, this was no accident. It's murder.

Yes, and I could have said what you did word for word.

Perfect as Casey will have plenty of company. Times they are an changin.
It makes absolutely no difference to me at all that Casey is a 25 year old female, nada, zero, none. She deserves the DP.

I voted LWOP as I would like to see ICA withstand life not being protected by
anyone!!! My wish in closing arguments would be 3 blown up pictures, first
being sweet Caylee, the second ICA partying and the third poor little Caylee's
scattered mangled bones (hard to type that) displayed during the entire closing arguments. That would remove any feeling sorry for ICA if I had any, I don't. IMO, there is no punishment harsh enough on this earth for what KC
did to sweet Caylee.

The three pictures should be Caylee. The picture of the BELLA VITA TATOO and her bones.

The dancing pictures could be questionable to some jurors but there is NO denying that TATOO.

I vote Life because I think the jurors will struggle with such a decision. KC is young, there is no real smoking gun, but clearly it had to be her. (At least in my mind.) What the jurors will really go through I don't know, what they think now I don't know. I will be shocked if she gets DP. Anything less than life will shock me as I think logic leads you to chloroform, duct tape, triple bagged, tossed out in the swamp.

ETA: Wonder if KC wishes Judge Strickland were on board? I think he may have sentenced 15 to 20 years maximum, if that was within the guidelines, at best, the minimum within the guidelines. If there were a DP vote, he could have overturned to life or the lengthy sentence. Judge Perry on the other hand, not a chance.

I would personally vote LWOP but I think she will get 40 yrs or so. I think they will compromise and meet in the middle.

All bets may be off once the jurors get to see Caylee in the last video. Caylee singing her song, "You are my Sunshine" will make it easier for jurors to take this very, very seriously. Will they play it for the jurors? After that, I think, at the very least, ICA will get LWOP.

Remember the first time you saw that video and heard Caylee singing?

To this day, I haven't watched that video. I just can't do it. :(

In my magical thing way I would like to see death penalty recommended and HHBP give her LWOP to avoid it being appealed.

On appeal much of the trial would go very different.

I will be satisfied if she is incarcerated 10 years beyond her child-bearing years.

I totally agree. ICA deserves the death penalty - but if not, certainly NOTHING less than LWOP! :twocents:

I hope they truly shock us all and give Casey the Death Penalty.

What were the reasons Scott Peterson got the DP?

and did they ever say how Laci & Conner were murdered?
