Where did the money go?

lets say a bunch of tvs, or laptops were bought. she could sell them for money, or if she owed someone money they may take the items instead of cash. especially if items can be sold for more than she owes.

I can't say I follow you on that one..if she returned items that were charged the store 99% of the time WOULD NOT give her cash back. The returned items are credited back to the credit card in which they were purchased. No doubt she spent money..probably cash advances taken out on the card or she outright charged what she needed.

Maybe the there was a ransom and she was trying to get the money together.

If purchases are made with a debit card, returns would be paid in cash. A debit card is viewed as a cash payment. In all honesty, each of my kids have used my debit card for different things over the years, with my permission. I worked crazy hours at times, so it was easier for me to give them my card and generally cost me less than if I handed them cash!

I remember being short on cash a few times and my girlfriend would give me cash and I'd put gas in her car or pay her cell bill with my card. The bad thing about this thought is I cannot find where Casey actually had any true good long term friends.

Yeah, in the movie Reality Bites, Winona Ryder's character has a credit card to a gas station that she got for graduation from her father. She needs money for something, so she heads down to the gas station and pumps gas into people's cars. They give her all this cash and then the card racks up all these charges. I don't think most people would do that unless they received some sort of incentive though. Maybe give them $5 free gas for every $10? That might rope me in..

Of course, at this time, we do not know if she used a credit or debit card. We do not know how much was spent, or where she spent it. We do not know if she received cash back, large items, or cash advances.... We just do not know. It seems to me that with the phone records, computer forensics, money tracking, and other technology, that LE could figure out what happened; that is, unless Casey did not cover her tracks the entire time. I don't think she did though.

In the 911 tapes and on MySpace Cindy said she stole money from her, lots of money. That was the reason she called the police the first time. The second or third call was to report Caylee missing. If she was using Cindy's debit card and Cindy did not know it, that may be why they are 3 months behind on her mortgage. She may have done identity theft on her with a credit card as well...She seems pretty crafty what with all the lies she tells.
