Where Terri parked at the school

  • #201
The title of this thread is 'Where Terri parked at the school'. Could someone please tell me if we have a confirmed source now for where Terri parked? I re-listened to the raw press conference video several times, read the LE document that was published several times, and I can't find anything saying where Terri parked.

This is important to me, because since LE refers to three different parking places at the school (the two parked truck picture locations, and the southside parking lot), it indicates to me that LE may be unsure of where Terri parked, and that they may have reason to believe that the truck was moved and re-parked. With their request for information regarding a person or persons in or near the truck, this also indicates to me that the truck may have been moved and re-parked by another person or persons. Therefore I'm interested in any references in which LE indicated a spot that Terri herself parked the truck.

TIA

If somebody was along to watch the baby, it might make sense to move the truck. Drop Kyron and Terri off near the door so they can go in, then turn around and park on the street in a place where it's easier to leave with all the crowds coming in.

I also wonder whether that might mean they're trying to figure out whether there are two white trucks? One up near the school and one down by the road? Or even both parked along the street for a while?

Which direction would Terri have come from in the photo if she drove to school from home?

If she were driving directly, she would have likely come South down Cornelius Pass and then East on Skyline, so she would have come in the opposite direction that the truck is facing in the photos.

That's a good point but why would that someone watch the baby in the truck? It might make sense in the middle of a day when you've been to somewhere and are going to somewhere after and don't want to go home in the middle but this was the first thing in the morning and Terri drove the direction of her home when she left the science fair so she could easily have picked the baby up. Why wouldn't the babysitter have watched the baby at her home? If Kaine was still at home and the sitter didn't want to deal with him Terri could have left the baby at the babysitter's home, it would probably have been more comfortable than waiting in the truck. Is there a playground fit for babies close to the school or anything? Was the mysterious adult seen with the baby?

Why, indeed? That one I don't have any answers for :p The most likely person would be a family member or a friend/neighbor who she was giving a ride to, but I don't think LE would be asking the questions they're asking if the answer was that innocent and that easy to check out.

If she was giving DeDe a ride, that could be innocent or not.

So let me make sure I'm oriented correctly here -- if she came east on Skyline, she'd make a left turn into the school?

And the direction the truck is facing in the photos is west, which is the direction to go back the way she came?

"Authorities are seeking to identify the person, or persons, who may have been spotted by the truck as it was parked outside the school's front fence in the shoulder of Northwest Skyline Boulevard. Someone possibly moved the pickup and parked it up a gravel path in front of the school's playground while Terri Moulton Horman was inside the school with her stepson for his science fair."

BBM - So, it looks like Terri initially parked it further down and it was moved up by the playground.

I think she pulled into the parking lot and couldn't find a spot where she could park the big truck. Witnesses report seeing her there. Then she backs out, leaves the parking lot and parks out on the access road. From there she goes to the science fair.

300 people attended the fair. The parking lot was full, but she wouldn't know until she drove into it.

I also think that's why she parked far from the door at FM. She's not used to driving a big truck with the protruding side steps. Easier to park out of the way and easier to get baby K in and out. I see it all the time at Walmart. The back of the lot is filled with big trucks and nice new/classic cars that owners don't want dented.

If it was in deed the same Horman truck, (these are big Trucks My BFF has the exact same one , in Yellow)

These are Big Trucks Ford F250 248.4 Inches Long and 78.9 wide.

Maybe, whom ever was in the truck parked it on the road and then was told to move it because it was blocking the view of cars and making it hard to see around when people were leaving the parking lot on to Skyline.

If it was a possible 2nd White truck
LE should try to rule out a second truck being at the Skyline Science Fair that day. Why doesn’t LE have all the names of the students and the names of the parents of these students and do a cross reference to check with the DMV to see if a White , 250 ford extended cab truck is registered to any of them? There is computer software that can do that in 2.5 seconds, not only that but match each name of each parent with each vehicle they do own.

Do you have a link to the witnesses who reported seeing Terri trying to park in a parking lot?

TIA

OT I was with my friend when she was driving her husband's F250. We were going through Wendy's drive thru and she misjudged the distance and took off the truck's side mirror as she tried to maneuver around building. Those are big 🤬🤬🤬 trucks, especially if you are used to a small car.

Nope, just from what I gained listening to the presser. The photos looked to me like LE placed her in two different areas at the school. Let me go read the presser again. BRB

No LE did not say specifically where she parked, but the 2 spots out front are pretty much the same.

I don't get anything from the presser that they think the truck was moved. Only that they are not sure EXACTLY where out front she parked, and that it is really not that important whether she was on the street or the access road....they are virtually the same place. What they are MORE interested in is the person(s) 'associated' with the truck as it was parked IN FRONT of the school.

In terms of the south parking lot, they are not mentioning the truck there, they are only looking for a 'witness' that they seem to believe was there that morning. They told us nothing about this witness, so it could be anything:

-someone could have reported something suspicious, and now they are following up on it.

-more than one person could have told them something, so they are trying to track this 'person' down.

-or they may know a lot about this vehicle and they just don't know enough to ID the driver/owner.

The mention of the south parking lot was not about the horman truck. But to answer your question, you are right, it does appear that LE does not know EXACTLY where Terri parked, but 'roughly' where she parked (in front of the school).

That is correct.

What is this about?

Press conference video at approx 14:04:

Reporter: And on this photo, are you asking for anyone who was parked in this, this parking lot to call about (a bit unintelligible - every make of their car?) that was parked there?

Gates: Yes, that's what he was asking.

Detective: What I want to identify is the parents, it's more likely going to be parents who were attending the science fair. Sometimes in an investigation you look through it with a different lens than you do the very first day that it occurs. When you go back and you rethink of all the events and the information you have, you see bits and pieces of the investigation that you need clarification on. This is simply one of these events that we're looking for clarification on. The parents, the guests, the staff only in the area that I have depict (sic) in the photograph. We'd like them to call the tip line.

I think it might be as simple as she parked in the front initially with kyron took him inside told him to look around while she moved the truck a little closer to the back exit instructing him to go out the back after he was done . I always thought it played out that way, it would make her appear to be leaving him but she was only gone moving car to make their exit less visible

I think after reading the whole flier, that LE might have received an anonymous tip from someone who was parked in that south lot and wants to talk to them more...
