I wasn't aware that we have any of that information. What is the source for that?

That was in the original airing of one of the specials that aired last month; Dateline, I think. That bit was taken out when the episode was posted online, though. I remember LW tweeting that BR never said that to the GJ (of course he has to say that).

Yes, that was it. Lucky I saved the original recording.

fact is no one can hear Burke on that tape or be 100% certain it is him speaking , a lot of people believe he did it and therefore they hear what they want to hear.

That is not a fact ?? "no one can hear burke on the tape." as many experts hear it as don't so wrong there. just depends which side you sit as to who one believes but true point there isn't 100% certainty about it yet. but it is getting closer :-)

To accommodate all the new people coming to Websleuths because of the docuseries we are moving to a much bigger and faster server.

This is just a reminder that the Websleuths forum will be down starting Wednesday (tomorrow) at 6 PM Eastern. We hope to be back up by Thursday morning.

Members can check for updates on Twitter and Facebook.

can you show me this report?

I meant to quote another poster here... obviously.

"I choose to defer to the experts from Aerospace Corp, who said there were three voices heard on the 911 call tape: one adult female, one adult male, and one child. There was only one living child in the house that morning, ergo, logic says it must have been BR. They were also able to determine what words were spoken after PR stopped talking to the 911 operator.
This is what was reported: "After further analysis, they heard three distinct voices, then gave the enhanced recording to Det. Hickman. "Hickman heard John Ramsey say, "We're not speaking to you," in what sounded like a very angry voice," the source said. "Patsy then says, "Help me Jesus, help me Jesus," and finally Burke is clearly heard to say "Well what did you find?" with an emphasis on the word "did.""

Is there a report from Aerospace Corp?

Springrain (lovely username, BTW), I’m not sure which recording you’ve listened to. There are two versions that have been made public. One has the first part of the recording completely erased. The other one includes all of the beginning (which is usually transcribed as “inaudible”) and part of the end which has a portion that has had an obvious attempt at erasure. But the attempt at erasure was not complete, and the beginning portion of the conversation between Burke and John can be heard. The portion that can be heard is enough that if you are able to discern the words you’ll recognize it as the sound of words spoken by a young child.

If you care to look into this further, try the following:

First listen to the version that was received by Tricia (our fearless leader) and posted on Acandyrose.com.
http://www.acandyrose.com/patsy911-FFJ.mp3

I copied it to here (in case it ever disappears from there):
http://www.mediafire.com/listen/7b1w6sajt516nbm/patsy911-FFJ.mp3

I used audio editing software to clean up some of the background noise (ambient sound, machine buzz, and the 911 operator’s keyboard clicking at the end). Here is the result:
http://mfi.re/listen/uoudcwjx9w3c2op/patsy911-FFJ_(2013_Cleanup).mp3

I also have a Word document that shows what is commonly transcribed next to what I feel is a more accurate transcription, and next to that are explanations and comments. But by all means don’t read this document until you’ve had a chance to listen for yourself first. After you’ve listened, then listen again and read along with the transcription to see if you can hear any of the background conversation at the beginning and at the end. Here is the transcription document:

Any version that has the first and/or the last portions completely cut off is not worth fooling with (IMO). There is a version floating around that begins with Patsy saying, “Police!” There are others that have both the beginning and the end cut off. Years ago, NBC did a segment on this and played the 911 call. Both the beginning and the end were cut off and replaced with Katie Couric’s voiceover. Here is that recording:
http://mfi.re/listen/li6toa3419blg7k/patsy911_(Today_show).mp3

Thanks for your post and the links and the work you have done looking at the transcripts. I wanted to let you know my thought on the very beginning of the call where you suggest

"PR: Hon’, we need (mumbled syllable)...

(short pause, change in tone) POLICE!
(At first Patsy was answering Burke in a calm but exacerbated voice explaining why they were calling police. Then, realizing the call had been answered, she yells the word “police” to alert others in the room (John and Burke) to shut up because the call had been answered.)"

What I hear is Patsy INITIALLY starts to say Hi we need an AM.. POLICE! It seems to me like she initially means to ask for an ambulance and then corrects herself.
Her tone is still panicked a.s she starts talking, but she says Police in a way that seems like she realized she just about asked for an ambulance... POLICE she seems to insists to herself

I am sure there is a report but we do not have access to it. :(

I believe there is. In "Foreign Faction," Kolar got into contact with them to see if they could do another analysis with new technology.

Something to keep in mind: they say that in a few years, technology might have advanced to where they can restore the erased sections of the Watergate tapes. Forget the Watergate tapes! THIS case should have priority!

I’m still here. I try to read as often as I can, but just don’t have the time to respond as often as I’d like. Yes, as Heymom speculated, I do have a life outside of WS -- and it isn’t going well right now, but I’m struggling through. No, M_S, I’m not so “sensitive” that I would get my feelings hurt over something posted here  (but I know some who are more “delicate” than I am, might).

Thank you all for your concern (I still can’t believe anyone even noticed my absence). Now if I can just find the time to correct some of the misconceptions I’ve read while not responding :giggle: :

otg - Me. I'm the guilty party who pointed out your absence. And it was due, at least in part, because of the meme you just posted. The misconceptions. :giggle:
