I don't recall the Ramsey's going out and looking for their daughter's killer? Do you? JB's own grandparents didn't even go public...looking for the killer. Kind of reminded me of OJ, looking for Nicole's killer....geesh, all he had to do was look in the mirror.

Uhmmm, sorry,I meant they SAID they were looking for the killer, their pathetic attempts to make it sound real..the 100.000 reward,"i will hang him in public" bla,bla..........

JR just wanted to ridicule and minimalize ST's theory. But his dog example.....apples and oranges.....

Apples and handgrenades, you mean. Would YOU compare your child to a dog?

He just creeps me out,the laughter, the arrogance, the way he tells his version like it's some poem he learned by heart. 'Lou Smit's smart, calculated, cold blooded intruder is right under our nose.(IMO)'

Madeleine, I've often compared John in that little performance to the Emperor in "Star Wars."

And the "I don't remember......"
I know that lawyers tell you to answer that when you feel you're being trapped. What I don't understand is their permanent excuse"well,we WANTED to cooperate but all they cared about was to point fingers at us".That's bs.They keep saying, well,we gave samples, hair, blood, bla, bla, yeah you gave samples because you thought you out-smarted everybody,as soon as you noticed LE doesn't buy the bs you became defensive, wayyyyy too defensive.

The permanent "we want the killer found" talk.....they had one priority and it wasn't catching the "killer".

That sums it up rather well.

J "Palpatine" R.

J "Palpatine" R.

Absolutely. Like the Emperor, he sits there snickering while Patsy tries to seduce (rather clumsily) ST the way Vader tried to seduce Luke. Had pretty much the same reaction when his efforts were rebuffed, as well.

Some of you newer folks may not know this, but I used to be IDI. This little face-off on LKL was the first step towards my conversion.

LOL..no, I know what you meant. I was just asking you if you remember them actually going out to look for JB's killer...I was being sarcastic...because we all know that they never did.

LOL and I agree re apples and handgrenades :D

It was out of line and out of context. It was BAITING.

I wouldn't compare a child to a dog,but imo that was the point in the first place>>>hey detective what do you know about kids anyway you don't have any.

It's exactly how sometimes parents tell you "you're young, you don't know what I know because I am older therefor wiser".

JR acted superior.

I am certainly not taking up for John here, but I believe that when he said "would you kill your dog for wetting on the floor?", he wasn't really comparing JB to a dog, he was just saying...a person wouldn't even kill their DOG much less their own daughter for such a thing. That is the way that I took it.

I know what you mean, but in general the Rs have a VERY defensive attitude anyway. The kind of defensiveness that screams "guilt".

I am sorry, not only is he a bad liar but also very arrogant when twisting people's words and changing the subject.Disgusting!

J. RAMSEY: Steve, you don't have children. Do you have a pet?

THOMAS: Yes, John, and let me tell you I'm glad you -- I'm glad you brought it up.

J. RAMSEY: Do you have a pet?

THOMAS: I do, and if I could respond...

J. RAMSEY: If that pet ever -- and pets do this -- wet on the floor, would you kill it?

THOMAS: I know how much I love my pet, my dad, my wife.

J. RAMSEY: Would you kill it, Steve?

THOMAS: And if somebody killed my dog, I would be at the sheriff's department, the police department, every day. J. RAMSEY: But would you kill your dog...

THOMAS: ... until I found out who came in my house, wrote a phony ransom note and killed my dog.

J. RAMSEY: (UNINTELLIGIBLE) on the floor? Would you kill it, because that's what you're accusing us of?

THOMAS: I just answered your question.

J. RAMSEY: No, you didn't.

THOMAS: Yes, I did.

P. RAMSEY: Would you kill your dog?

John dodging S.Thomas' "phony ransom note" comment is pretty revealing. :D

Again, new on here and really anxious not to offend anyone. However, one thing that really boiled my wee was the appalling editor the Ramseys had if 'Death of Innocence' was supposed to demonstrate their truthfulness. There are inconsistencies in successive pages of the book, let alone between the book and their interviews. This is a really trivial example but it does demonstrate how poor their editor was. Early on in DOI, Patsy complains that she had thought that the pageant videos were only issued to families and were private items and that it was nothing short of staggering when the pageant tapes showed up on TV. About five pages later, she comments that her first action when JB didn't do so well in her first pageant was to buy videos of previous pageants...

Maybe the editor wanted readers to see the inconsistencies in the Ramseys' story?

Huh? When was this? As far as lies, I think everyone in this case is guilty of lying about one thing or another; including the PD and DA's offices.

However, they didn't have a dead child in their basement, did they? That was the Ramseys, so you'd think it might mean more to them to tell the truth IF they wanted to find the intruder.

After all, if there had been an intruder, the Ramseys were still not safe with him not caught, were they?

Though that never seemed to bother them much....

haha Good eye, Sophie. Yes, it's so hard to keep up with all those lies.... The Ramseys were terrible at it. Had there been a DA who WANTED to prosecute this case, he could have made quite a show of all the Ramseys lies during the grand jury, from the two LE interviews in 1997 and 1998 alone.

Hunter would have disappeared into the night before he'd have prosecuted the Ramseys, even if they'd confessed to him on video.

Brilliant post, KoldKase: wanted to say this days ago but I have a new WiFi provider which is supposed to be faster than the speed of light but actually makes me nostalgic for the dial up services of about 15 years ago.

Anyway, I love how people on here actually acknowledge the DA's role in the whole JBR story. Just this week, I was reading a book by Ann Rule in which she commented that the police in a particular investigation were anxious to avoid the monumental errors made by the BPD. Add this to the fact that on her website, while not giving the Ramseys a pass, she does say that she thinks Santa should have been investigated more thoroughly. The inference of all this is that someone who is obviously well-attuned to law enforcement goes no further than the BPD in terms of blame for the failure to prosecute the culprit. It is amazing that so many people do see this solely in terms of the BPD...
