Hi Annasmom,

Do you know what GB's political preference was, democrat or republican?

Someone has started a family tree on Ancestry called "The Mysterious George Brody" with the correct DOD for our GB. Does anyone know who owns this tree?

Probably Independent, but I doubt he actually ever voted...it would have left a paper trail.

Sorry to quote myself but I sent the person on Ancestry a msg to ask if this is the George Brody connected to the Anna Christian Waters case and this is the reply I got.

"No, well at least I don't think it is. I have been researching Brody/Waters and wanted a way keep track of all the information and documents I find. I meant to make the tree private so as to not alarm anyone".

I am about to send another msg to see if I can find out more. Will post what I find out unless it needs to be kept off forum.

False alarm. It is another member on here. I will leave it to her to explain her response to me if she wants to.

I got very excited for a minute :(

It was me. The "research" tree I was working on for running down GB clues is years old and has numerous unrelated people in it. It has always been private but when Ancestry changed their TOS I didn't "opt" out, so it was all of the sudden in the search results. I am sorry for any confusion or for creating false hopes. I work on this case daily and that is just my process. Of course I never meant to cause anyone distress.

The 1940 census will be available April 2, 2012. Anna was the first thing I thought of when I saw the headline in the paper today. Here's to hoping!

Remind me why the 1940 census has special significance for us??

Just found something else - I know the 1940 census won't be released until 2012.. but I did see something on the national archives website saying you can fill out a request form if you need information on a deceased person from the 1940 census! Wouldn't it be awesome if he was on there?? It should list birthplace, etc...

http://www.archives.gov/genealogy/census/1940/general-info.html

Whew! Had to wade through several pages of posts but I knew someone had summarized it better than I ever could! In short, there could be valuable GB background information waiting just around the corner.
