Unless this was in the works long ago, I doubt Dr. Phil bought/paid for the Jeep. They were at Home Depot with it on July 14th. And I saw the jeep on a news video outside their home, parked in their garage before the Home Depot story broke. Unless, of course, they've gotten another one since.

I have my doubts as well.

The Jeep may have been acquired via family members in the vehicle dealership business.

IIRC George's brother-in-law owns a car dealership business and George's dad was in the car dealer business as well.

He comes off as saying he's followed the case and knows the score, yet in his interview, plenty of discrepancies ...
The biggest red flag ? He believes the Anthonys who perjured themselves at trial and have told contradictions (LIES) from the beginning !! He believes the Anthonys when they say they will not draw salaries from their new org and that this new org is legitimate ...
Bet Dr Phil won't ask them why they pleaded with people to go out and look for a live Caylee when they knew she was dead either ....

I find it ironic he won't talk to Casey because he knows she won't tell the truth, but he believes every word out of her parent's mouths. I'm sure they had fingers crossed behind them, and just said yes to every question. These are not truthful people. Like heck they didn't ask for some sort of payment. Cindy never does anything for free! Sounds to me like he wanted to cover his patooty, so he made sure to ask those questions and get answers for them. He is not very smart if he just believed every word they said. Nice try, Dr. Phil. We all know the truth here no matter how much you try to deny it. I wonder how many more people are going to do the same with the A's? And yet they'll never work but still be able to live the high life somehow? Like through magic? Yeah, right.

Thanks for the refresher ... it's hard to keep all those lies straight but I remember reading that they WOULD be drawing salaries ....

This blurb says all I need to know about Dr Phil and his lack of honesty:

Dr. Phil: "We paid no money to the Anthonys whatsoever. They didn't ask for any."

Like anyone that's followed the Anthonys and their actions would ever believe that they'd do ANY interviews without being paid ... Seriously ?? ... Of course they asked for money !! Of course they asked for a donation to their new fraudation !! Of course Dr Phil has no intentions of further checking out the org's legitimacy !!

They are not even good at lying, just arrogant and confrontational ... that's why people back off from holding them accountable, it's not worth the fight, not because they believe them ...

I'm holding out for stories about the case based on the facts ... books, movies, and TV shows that don't need the Anthonys' permission, nor need to pay them one dime ... They won't be able to sue or do anything about them either if they are based on the FACTS of the case
Then let's see how well their foundation does !!

I rarely watch Dr. Phil; I have seen his show maybe three times - max. But each time I did, he pulled no punches and called whoever it was out on the carpet.

I am curious whether he will confront Cindy. I cannot see him talking to her the way he has talked to others - I have seen him say to one woman - you are insane, you need psychiatric help.

I just don't know how he will handle this; especially after she broke down the way she did on the stand. I don't know.

Bingo !! I'm sure most people have known people like the Anthonys, master manipulators, agressive personalities that most people try to avoid like the plague ... it's very telling by the "vast group of friends" they DON'T have, that not too many people (including family) want anything to do with them ...

Sounds like Dr. Phil is waiting for the new foundation to get off the ground. OR, perhaps the A's advised him to withhold payment until the new foundation is more established.

Way back when the Anthony's were supposed to do an exclusive on Oprah. It was advertised . Then ,the morning before they were to do Oprah ,the Anthony's did the Early Show on CBS ( IIRC :crazy: ). Oprah cancelled the Anthony's interview because they reneged on their agreement with her show.

The Dr. Phil Show is probably hanging on to that money until his show airs the interview and it really is the exclusive interview they claim.

Can you point me to a source that states the Jeep was part of the payment of the Dr. Phil show? I've seen that on these boards, but I can't recall seeing it anywhere else. It's not mentioned in the TV Guide interview, but I did pull this:

TV Guide Magazine: You stress that your show didn't pay for the interview, that instead you're making a donation to their new foundation. Do you feel confident that that money will go to the right place?
Dr. Phil: They haven't gotten their authorization yet. They didn't make a demand, they made a request. And I asked when we sat down, "Let me be clear, you didn't ask to be paid for this. You asked that we make a donation to this 501c3 charitable organization. And you take no money from that, you get no salary, no fee, no reimbursement, nothing from the foundation." He said that is correct. I said, "You understand that this is federally licensed, and the IRS and the government monitors this." They said that is absolutely correct. So I moved on with that confidence in mind.
