Maybe Ed Smart? He's very active in missing children cases.

I don't see it being MK as he has already blogged his impressions and they are not flattering to the family - he suspects parent deception so I don't see their new "investigative team" inviting him to join their ranks.

My :twocents: The only name that should be out in the media full force right now is LISA. Where is LISA?
....and is anyone LOOKING for Lisa? If all those news crews, self promoters, and family members would each search half of one nearby street today, maybe Lisa would be found!

he was on Dr Drew last night!! Very impressive. He said (paraphrasing) Le has to clear the parents and immediate family before no matter how hard that is. He is extremely classy never one negative word out of his mouth

Just curious - Now that we know who the benefactor is, do we consider this person "renowned"? I was hoping it was someone who actually WAS renowned. As well, do we even know if this person is in the picture since the "reward" seems vague, at best.

The "renowned" person the thread starter was referring to is Dr. Marisa Randazzo, a member of BS's team, not the benefactor. Not sure if you are referring to her or the benefactor. :)

BS mentions at around 1:50 in this video from Oct 14th that he will be announcing one "renowned" member of his team. This was early in the day on the 14th. Later that day, he announced Dr. Randazzo at this PC:

ETA: Here is some information on her. http://campusthreatassessment.org/index.php/faculty/bios/marisa_randazzo/

Yes, I thought that he was talking about the benefactor. So, since it is not the benefactor, I will ask this question, what has Dr. Randazzo done on this case? For that matter, what has BS done?

"renowned"? never heard of her :D

there are articles all over the net stating she was brought in to assist... can't find one link to anything she's actually done though ::shrug::

Dr. Marisa R. Randazzo is a national expert on threat assessment and targeted violence. Before joining the private sector, Dr. Randazzo served for ten years with the U.S. Secret Service as the agency’s Chief Research Psychologist. She directed all Secret Service research on school shootings, insider threats, stalking, and other types of targeted violence, including the landmark federal study of school shootings that was conducted jointly by the U.S. Secret Service and U.S. Department of Education.

So, I wonder just what her professional opinion was on this case. She seems not to be a part of that team anymore. :waitasec:

I was hoping we would hear what her professional opinion on the case was too.

Or they couldn't pay her bills. Sometimes it's not anything major, but simple business.

It sounds to me like she's done her job flawlessly. :twocents:

She is an expert in:
-school shootings,
-insider threats,
-stalking,
-targeted violence,
-threat assessment,
-bomb threat assessment,
-detection of deception,
-abduction prevention
-escape tactics for children of high-net worth families, their caregivers, and protective details
-violence prevention

As of today it seems like she has apparently managed to prevent all school shootings, bombings, stalking problems, further abductions and violence related to Lisa's case and also helped DB's lawyers realize that there was no detection of deception. I'm sure she is an invaluable part of the team.

Or else it was just namedropping that functioned as PR for everybody...

Based on her job description, it sounds like she has handled targeted kidnappings. If the team was pursuing the possibility of a targeted kidnapping, she would be pretty helpful. I really don't think her presence was name dropping if they were pursuing a targeted kidnapping angle, rather than a stranger wanting a baby scenario or of course, a family member abduction. Naturally, if the situation turned out to be one that wasn't in her wheelhouse, she'd drop off the case. Her function isn't prevention, it's analysis and assessment. I really don't see a reason to direct snark at her or what she does.

What's the difference between a targeted kidnapping and a stranger wanting a baby? When I think "targeted kidnapping", I think the abduction of children whose parents are wealthy and/or powerful. Kidnappings are very unusual because usually the victim is killed, so it becomes a murder.

You pretty much articulated it for me. To me, a targeted kidnapping is a kidnapping for ransom and/or revenge (like a drug debt, for snitching, etc.). You are targeting the child because of the family. A stranger wanting a baby isn't really targeting - the motive isn't based on the family, it's desire for a baby, which would generally lead to a different outcome (child alive post-event, etc.).
