Why Have George and Cindy Requested a Video Visitation With Casey?

Wow totally not suspicious at all lol. Good lord do the Anthonys not understand they are not special, this is not a unique case, and they are not entitled to anything out of the ordinary? SO weary of the game playing and the nonsense. If they want to visit her, let them visit her, but not under any special circumstances.

Boy, no kidding, eh? And they are witnesses in a capital case. So let's just let all witnesses in murder trials in Florida meet secretly with the defendant away from the sunshine laws. Guess the sun doesn't shine on the Anthony's just everyone else in Florida. Good grief.

Their beef is really with the Sunshine Law and with the jail itself, I do not understand why on earth they keep bothering the Judge with this entitlement crap.

I believe the request is only for NOT releasing the video visitation..
Also, It is not the first time they have filed a motion asking that their video visitation with Casey NOT be released under the Sunshine Law

The A's can schedule a visit anytime they want but the final decision to allow or deny the visit remains with ICA.

I think this has not only been addressed with Judge Perry, but also with Judge Strickland. I know it has been addressed more than once. :banghead: They can simply not take "no." They think they are above everyone else and that they are unique when in all reality they are no different than any other parents whose children have murdered their own children.

There was a report yesterday that Lippman, the Anthony's attorney, stated that he would move to have any video visitation sealed.

MOTION FOR INJUNCTIVE RELIEF FROM THE ORANGE COUNTY JAIL AND/OR THE STATE OF FLORIDA FROM RELEASING INFORMATION TO THE MEDIA AS IT RELATES TO INMATE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE DEFENDANT CASEY ANTHONY AND HER PARENTS GEORGE AND CINDY ANTHONY

15 pages
filed by Lippman May 4, 2011

Here's the motion ANJ posted. Sounds like they don't want just one visit! Says they want to have contact with her before, DURING, and after the trial. GMAB.

:waitasec:

Hmmm... Before, During (unless the sequestration rule applies) and After the Trial ! And the Anthony's are witnesses !

Nope ... I think the Judge will DENY this ...

:cow::cow::cow:

This sounds to me like a "desparate attempt" for visitation so they can keep the :liar: stories straight ...

Pls bear with me but I think JB and CM are going to outsmart all of us and eventually the "princess" is going to walk, one of my greatest fears.............................they aren't as dumb as we thought they were.....I need a drink, NOW!!! My nerves are shot!!! :(
Well, if that's the case, they can wait and be the ones to take Casey home. :)

Well, I do think they are concerned they may very well be sequestered for the entire trial, especially if they are also testifying in the penalty phase. Remember they now have a lawyer who is very calm and not emotionally connected to the case like their previous lawyers.

I know :frown:

It is so terribly sad that anyone would have to wishful think in a situation such as this one.

6 Navy Seals buried Bin Laden at sea out of respect for his religion...and we can't even get a set of grandparents to stand up for a precious little girl who would be enjoying her last weeks of Kindergarten if her mother wouldn't have killed her. It's truly sad.

Very well put................I wish the media could remember this.:tyou:

Leila, I don't think your idea is way out, I think it is exactly the plan.

They have filed this motion (to have the video visit not video taped, knowing full well, it will be denied). Then, lo and behold, they meet with her anyway, because they just can't stand not seeing her before trial and after all this time. The "truth" comes out between them, I imagine it as "I should have believed you when you told me your father was molesting you" (CA) and "I didn't realize what I was doing was going to affect you like it did, I thought I was 'loving' you" (GA), or something along those lines... and then voila- it's submitted into evidence and on the record and CA and GA have finally done their part to help save poor ICA- better late than never in the inmates eyes.

I guess we will know soon enough, we just have to wait and see...:banghead:

BBM - Casey never told Cindy about George molesting her. Casey says she told Cindy about Lee molesting her. According to Casey's letters to Robyn, she had just started to have dreams of her father molesting her... vivid dreams of him coming into her room as a child. The same feeling she had when Lee would come into her room... were coming back to her in these dreams. She was sick in her stomach and I believe she said she was feeling some kind of pain.

So if Cindy is going to admit that she should have believed Casey... she is going to have to sacrifice Lee's life for Casey's life... is she really that sick... that vile... that twisted... to do something like that to her own son? Destroy Lee's life in order to save Casey's life? Is she willing to give up any future relationship with Lee... Mallory... her own future grandchildren in order to save Casey's life?

I would hope NOT!

I don't think CJBP will be happy to see another frivolous repeated motion. He's already denied them secrecy once. I don't think Lippmann, the man of many pages, will get either of his motions through. I see a big ole :denied: coming on both.

From what I understand (maybe it was from CM in the IS bssessions, Mr. Lippman, i.e., the A's don't have any standing to file ANYTHING in the criminal case at bar. They aren't a party in any way. Only STATE vs. CASEY ANTHONY.

ETA: They would have to file a suit in intervention and I don't think that is even allowed in criminal cases. I have a civil legal experience background, not criminal.

ETA2: I know where I heard the "standing" issue...from Judge Eaton. I read it. He said that the A's don't have any standing at all in this case. But that JB or CM could file the motion for the A's, or that the State could bring the issue before the Court. But the A's CANNOT do it directly though their attorney. I will try to find the article.

ETA3: Found it!
An interesting aspect of this issue is whether a witness has “standing” to bring a motion to be allowed to sit in the courtroom in the first place. The only “parties” to a criminal case are the State of Florida and the defendant. There is no provision to allow a non-party to intervene in a criminal case. That is not so in a civil case if the intervening party has a substantial interest in the outcome. I have had attorneys who represent victims file motions to intervene in a criminal prosecution and I have denied them on the basis of lack of “standing” to bring the motion. Of course, the State Attorney or defense counsel could properly bring the motion before the court for a ruling.

In any other case, I would feel sorry for the parents of the Defendant and understand that that would want to speak to their daughter before the trial starts, but.... in this case, if it smells like a rat....

Maybe this is a desperate defense ploy, and they are waiting to see what the reaction would be.

According to Hal Boedeker of Orlando Sentinel: (snipped) Cheney claims he doesn’t care but still reads the blogs and gets all bent out of shape. Appears Cheney is quite intimidated by bloggers.

bbm
Really?

CM reads the blogs? What the hay for?
I know some of you will have spectacular responses for that. But I ask the question in earnest

With, iirc, 4 high profile cases that Mason is working on what the hay is he doing spending time reading the Blogs? Casey may not be paying him to defend her but his other clients are.

What does reading blogs have to do with defending his client in court?

They can have contact with her right now, why does it have to be secret?

I would think they would want people to be reminded of what a wonderful relationship they have with their daughter and how supportive and close knit this family is together. They mouth "I love you's" in court, and "thank you's"- why would they not want us to see their amazing relationship first hand?

I would think this would be exactly what they would want the world to see... oh yes... but there is someone in this mix that wouldn't want this 'image' portrayed... the defense team (Hmmmm).

Judge Perry will deny the order, no doubt. JMHO

It makes me wonder if this was set up, however, why would Baez put himself in that position now that they are so close? Every single video visitation out there has caused him more problems defending Casey, as did her letters. He does not want this to happen IMHO because it gives him more work to do.

I figure that Baez will not respond to the Anthony's attorney on Casey's behalf because when the judge denies it, least he will not have to tell the Anthony's the truth himself about how they are fixing to throw each of them under the bus and blame them all for Casey's actions.
And if he does leave it up to Casey, she will say no as well. If she wanted any kind of interaction with her parents, she would at least smile or wave to them coming into court. BS her concern is her Papa bear who she thinks will save her life and have her out looking for the hottest Irish guy on the planet in the next few months.

Just like with Caylee- Cindy and George WHO?

Well, well, well..........isn't this interesting! My gut tells me it has to do with GA testifying he will do anything to save his daughter. So if he went to jail and he and CA apologized to ICA for any and all 'transgressions' perpetrated against her they open the door for their PTSD doctors and their guilt phase evidence in and for the DT to plant the seed that ICA caught GA and or CA doing the same 'transgressions' to Caylee.

Sorry, just don't trust these people at all. I also have to wonder if there is somehow a GMA or other media interview/exclusive associated with this new found desire to see their daughter, despite knowing with Sunshine laws it will be released.

Something smells
skunkgif.gif
almost as bad as the trunk of the car. IMHO, etc.....
It would make for good theater that's for sure. If it were to be sealed, could they then ask for it to be unsealed after the verdict for 48 hours (CBS)?

They probably don't want us "idiot bloggers" to see it...but then again, they said they didn't care what we thought anyway, right?

I have to agree with others that think this is an attempt to "backdoor" some kind of testimony from Casey to reach the jurors before the trial begins. There is always a reason for everything with this group. Nothing is done without being well thought out. Casey can claim it was an accident, that George did molest her, that Lee did molest her, or whatever and that video can then be made public for some "sympathy" for Casey. I just don't trust anyone involved with the DT or anyone that supports Casey.

MOO

Does anyone remember about how long it took from the actual visitation until the release of the videos? I know they did not come out right away... weeks, maybe??

Well, CA did show up to Morgan's office with a video cam in hand...............I am just a-sayin' !!!!!!!!!!!! (Does it show, I would not put anything past them?)
