I am so glad I am not the only one that feels that way! I said this in another thread and was shot down.

DOn't worry, I feel that way too. It's too bad too b/c its not like there is a handbook that tells you how to deal with the press when tragedy hits your family. There is no "right way" to react to this. I can't even imagine how I would react in that situation!

Isn't that the truth. The Anthony's wanted to much so clear things up, but all they did was muddy the water by leaving their words open for scrutiny. They couldn't clear up what they weren't clear on anyway.
I continue to feel really bad for them because I do not think they are involved in any way in what has happened to Caylee.

glad I'm not the only one feeling this way

I don't think they had anything do with reason Caylee is missing either.
I am confused about their defense of Casey but if they are a small tight family without a lot of outside support, perhaps that has something to do with their behavior.

This whole ugly episode has probably ruined them financially too.
I am not confused as to why they support her at this point. If you think about it there are people right on this board that have doubts that Caylee is dead and that perhaps there is something to her story. So if perfect strangers can think that Casey wouldn't kill her daughter it only stand to reason that people that love and care about Casey and Caylee would feel the same. They know Casey personally and I think what Cindy was saying was just because she lied doesn't mean she murdered. I can understand what she is saying.
We are distant observers with no bond or caring for Casey, so it is easy for us to sit back and say guilty! It's obvious! She did it! But they have known her for 22 years and they do not believe that she is capable of murder. capable of being a liar and a thief, but not capable of murder.

I think when the evidence is clear, which it is not at this point, they will face an important juncture as to what kind of support they will continue to offer her. If the evidence shows that she murdered her daughter then they will have to face some harsh realities and I do not envy their position one single bit. Can you imagine having to say my daughter murdered my grandchild? They are not ready to say it and frankly I don't blame them.

the time will come for them to make a decision, but that time isn't now. IMO they have cooperated fully to get to the truth.

I agree with the poster who said that LE has asked some of the significant players to lay low for interviews so as not to be tainted for trial. The other friends are hiding from media. Cindy did request that no one but her give interviews.

I bet the neighbors are speaking to the media. They are saying things like "Pick your candy wrappers and chip bags up" And "stop parking on my lawn".

Just thinking out loud

I have thought that Casey's friends were relatively new . . . and her old friends have not seen her since she dropped out of high school (per the dude her visited her in jail way back when). She is only 22 yrs old so how dedicated would her friends be? And I do remember George's family speaking out earlier on but had been out of contact with the family for quite some time . . . they did indicate they were stunned.

In any case, I would keep my mouth closed until the grand jury called me. I am certain OCPD/FBI is doing their job (I trust LE in most cases) and those who can be tied to Casey (which are many according to her cyber-life) have most likely been contacted by LE/FBI.

IMHO -- no harm meant!

ITA I think that they should be allowed to have hope that their granddaughter is alive. Caylee has not been found yet.
FWIW, not one person who knew them has come forward and said that Casey ever mistreated her.

Well there you go and that is what I mean. If murder is not true to her nature and she showed love for that child all this time, why WOULD her parents assume the worst? I don't think any parent here would.
Cindy has already called her out on her lies, we heard that in a taped jail visit. She placed the blame squarely on Casey's shoulders for being behind bars.I think Cindy will hold Casey's feet to the fire and support her until there is nothing left to support.
Cindy loves casey, she is her daughter. Of course she is going to give her everything she has got until such time there is enough evidence to show her that her daughter is a murderer, if in fact that is the case.

ETA: Sharon Rocha and Ron Grantski went on LKL and said that Scott Peterson would never harm Laci, they loved him and he was part of theri family. they also said there was nothing wrong with going fishing on Christmas Eve. They gave him every benefit because he was not a murderer by nature nor were they suspicious of a murderous tendency.
But when the evidence came in they saw the light. but not without supporting him first.

I haven't seen Cindy or George speaking to anyone since last Thursday. I've missed every statement from the new spokesman too.

Wow they finally got a clue

I think the little girl died in that car ,left in there to long by a partying mother, & she died in the heat.
She hid the body ,left her dead to long in the car ,it started to smell ,so she dumped her ,

If you read FOR LACI, Sharon specifically states that LE told them little or nothing so as to NOT taint their testimony.

There is something amiss with the family and friends. Even the lying about who the baby's father is, why? She probably gets welfare or something so she said the baby's father was dead because A. She didn't know who is the father or B. So he didn't have to pay child support and she didn't have to have a custody arrangement with him. I don't know seems like they have something on these people or like someone else said LE told them not to talk.
You can't get welfare unless you list the father on the birth certificate. And that can be investigated - if the person on the birth certificate denies it.

Whatever lies they might have been caught in originated from Casey. I do not believe the grandparents are lying to the media just for the sake of lying.
OH, the smell of the dead body by Cindy originated from Casey? I don't think so Cindy made up the pizza/dead body lie on her own. And George's method of clean up also

I thought about this as well. I do remember Jesse in a brief interview he was asked if Cayse had anything to do with the disappearance of Caylee and he said "no comment". That struck me.

There's no question at all that the Anthony's have made some pretty outlandish excuses. I'll bet they're truths within the facts. Pizza was probably in the vehicle along with cadaver smell. They have to know what they're doing and could care less if people they don't know believe them or not unless they're future jurors. I imagine LE has checked the whole story and whole family out. Caylee deserves every opportunity to be found and to have justice. About friends talking, I'd like to know what fellow cheerleaders and classmates have to say about Casey. Maybe we'll hear if she's ever charged with more.

And that's fine. I would probably be in denial myself. Granted I would have done things differently than the Anthony's have but I can't fault them for the path they chose to take.

They are victims!

In my opinion, I don't believe for one second that the grandparents/brother are victims. Rather, they are willing accomplices! Total scum.

They could be holding back until a possible trial as character witnesses. It will all come out eventually. I admire them for staying back for now. It's about Caylee right now, I thinks that is where their minds are at.

  • #57
I would like to see LE offer some sort of deal/immunity/anonymity to whoever comes forward with information about where Caylee is. They need to do SOMETHING. The fact that things are taking so long with them and granted, they are not sharing everything with us, it has been over 60 DAYS!!!!!!!! IMO LE needs to step it up a notch! A CHILD IS MISSING AND YET IT SEEMS LIKE NOTHING IS HAPPENING AND WHENEVER LE TALKS, THEY BLAME EVERYTHING ON CASEY (it is true)- THE ONLY THING WE NEED IS FOR CASEY TO TALK! Come on! She ain't talking and ain't gonna! LE needs people to talk. They are letting to much time go by!

(OK, I'm done now:)

Great question!! My guess is the prosecution has already interviewed most of Casey's friends and neighbors and asked them not to speak to the media so as not to hinder the investigation and/or compromise their credibility should they be called to testify in court.

when I read this I thought "so true" because someone in this mess has to know when to shut up so their word atleast SEEMS good later on!! :-)
