It seems they all run in the same circle ! Circle of drugs and all that goes with it. We have a boll weevil irradication program in this county, wish we could get a BD/SA irradication program going LOL

I think the problem is that some journalists at least have decided that Billie is innocent of anything and because of that are totally unable to be objective and write about the case as they should do.

That's exactly what I was going to write, but you did it for me.

Instead of being objective, the few "journalists" around these people chose sides and spun things BD's way without looking any deeper than that. I believe some of them drank the kool-aid about Clint being the bad seed in the family. Then, in order to stay close to BD and their "big story," they leaked stuff about CD's past that is basically irrelevant to this case, and kept on talking about BD as a victim.

Meanwhile they overlooked the stuff about SA until it began to leak out on the internet in places like this and elsewhere, and they couldn't ignore it anymore. But journalists didn't discover that stuff, people here did.

tv stations in that area (including Abilene and Midland) do not pay for reporters, just newscasters...also logistics problems... one would have to fly to Dallas, change planes and fly to Abilene and then rent car to get to Ccity...

BBM No matter that people are good or bad, there is a young lady missing. Hailey is the innocent here, she can't help what her 'mother' is; there should be maximum effort for her. CP is more prevalent than people want to believe and, for the size of the big country outlet there are a lot of CP stories.

Something is keeping story from going mainstream.

It could be as simple as the national media (or even just the media in other Texas cities) just isn't interested in this case. There are many sensational details in this case, but due to some of the players coming across as "hillbilly", the media might view their behavior as "normal" for them, therefore it's not newsworthy.

Very few cases get national coverage, and even fewer have longevity in the national media. So IMO, there isn't a big conspiracy stopping the national media from covering Hailey's case. Unfortunately, her case was dropped from the national media after about a week of coverage, like so many other cases.

After all, how many cases have we seen on WS that have gotten little to none national attention, but seem like they have the elements the national media would like?

Hardly any of the cases we follow here manage to keep national attention, even if they do capture it at some point, i.e. Kyron Horman. Caylee Anthony is about the only one with truly national attention, meaning not just NG, which while national is also sensational TV, not a news show.

If there isn't anyone local to dig out facts and dirt, it is not going to happen. MSM will report on stuff that turns up, but won't bother going looking for it.

What I don't understand is why Billie has stopped going to the media to keep Hailey's name on the front page instead we get info on Billie or Shawn. It shouldn't matter if she has lawyered up, her daughter is still missing and she remains silent now after she was incarcerated for lying and obstruction. Come on media ask Billie Jean Dunn some tougher questions...Like Why isn't she pleading or demanding to the person(s) that disappeared her daughter!!?? Ask her why hasn't she taken another poly? Ask her Why is she still in contact with the only named suspect Shawn Adkins after she filed for a NTO? Put some pressure on her and Shawn! I am sure their attorney's are waiting for those phones to start ringing.

JonBenet is another case that we follow that had longevity in the national media. However, her case is not the norm. Many cases on WS have received some national coverage. But for most of them, this coverage lasted a week at most, or it's "here" and "there" instead of being consistently in the news for a long period of time.

It's interesting that the national media has expanded a lot in the past 15 years (NG, Greta, JVM, every media outlet has an expansive website), yet OJ and JonBenet remain the most publicized murder cases. Why? The media mentions MORE cases now than they did in the 90s, so the cases have to divide up all the attention. How many cases can you name from the 90s that received national coverage? Now how about from 2000-2011? Big difference, right?

Although the national media is ignoring Hailey's case now, I believe that they will all have stories about her when she is found. I've noticed that they like to ignore missing people, but "love" to report about them when they're dead. But then after the one article about their body being found, it's on to the next murder victim. -_-

I agree that the same kind of players are involved in both of those cases. However, Hailey is 13 and Haleigh was 5 (when she went missing), and that could have played a role in the difference in media attention. It seems like there are higher "standards" that teenagers must meet over children to get national media attention. Also, from what I've gathered, Haleigh's national media attention has been mostly NG, with a few mentions "here" and "there" on other shows, like GMA.

It seems that for most of our cases that receive national coverage, it comes from NG, and they can never seem to expand beyond her show. Why is that? And when I say, "Expand beyond NG", I don't mean one mention on Geraldo, but actually being covered on multiple TV shows, featured in magazines, newspapers across the country, etc for more than just a "flash in the pan" story.

From what I understand she had been working on this story for awhile. I had thought LE would shut the media out....especially after Kampher's last debacle almost a month ago. The good interviews are unobtainable ie: SA's family....how does the GMa and mother feel and their views about the discovery, etc. There's nothing to really gain from talking to BD or SA at this point....it's all mixed with lies and half truths. What does surprise me is there has been no leeks on BD and SA. Very quite on their activities and whereabouts.

Where is your daughter BD?????? Remember this is about her....and not to worry about the negativity you chose to swim in. ??????

Tiffany says info is hard to get these days ... Family, LE and the DA, none of them will speak. She did interview Marc Klaas, for whatever that will be worth.

I appreciate her effort to get a case update though.
