I tend to agree with Ausgirl.I do think they were in contact with someone pretending to be Slenderman since they had so much specific information.Where he supposedly lived,that they had to kill in order to become proxys.All these details.

From what I've read, that information is not a secret. It's easily found.

A triad of friends is usually a recipe for disaster. Especially with females and especially teen or preteen girls.

No supportive link. Simply 30 years of parenting life experience.

ETA by recipe for disaster I do not refer to murder or attempted murder. I simply mean that three female friends almost always experience a power play over who is the top of the triad and jealousy comes to the forefront more times than not. Again just IME.

Oh that is the truth. Three is a crowd in the preteen/ teen years!!!

This article in The New York Times sheds some light on the dynamic of these three girls, stating things that I have not read in other articles. Just like we speculated three may have been a bad number once again. One (the birthday girl) which is MG was very close to the victim. It is stated that AW and the victim were not close. As we know, MG did the actual stabbing and and although AW introduced MG to Slenderman, MG was the one that had the idea to kill so that they could become proxies.

Very interesting.

AW came into MG's life and she realized she had way more in common than she ever did with PL. same interests in the paranormal... they look alike (PL was much smaller)...live in the same apt complex (as revealed in the original unaltered Police Report.)...etc
MG decides to make PL go away. Because PL is actually the third girl, Not AWl. They agree. Two new friends bonded forever in a blood oath. Teenage angst and narcissism taken to an extreme.

It reminds me SO much of the Skylar Neese case dynamic wise. MG = SE. AW=RM.

I really appreciate Pat Brown's (criminal profiler) stance on this. She refuses to say the name of the shooter, be interviewed by anyone doing so- and absolutely believes news organizations should not say the name or show pictures of shooters! They should not become famous for their atrocities. It might actually deter others from doing this.
ETA I think we have officially gone off the rails where this is concerned.

This was very interesting. Thanks for posting this. The pic denotes the victim's first name. Not sure why ABC used that pic, but the video showed a residential street and a side road that were marked off. This young girl was so lucky to have a cyclist find her and that she was able to crawl to the street.

The family is raising money for medical bills and legal fees. Why would they need money for legal fees? That part of the piece confused me. TIA.

The media do not care about victims, they are only interested in ratings and the advertising dollars that follow, any contact with media will not be helpful to the child, the best thing for them to do would be simply to say 'no' .. I think the way this is going with fundraisers and attention will only make her recovery more problematic.

I see what Mr.s G is saying.
There's a lot of weird dynamics going on. like...
-I've seen at least two family spokespersons so far, and I felt somewhat queasy listening to them. Their message was somewhat like a performance. Like they're in it for themselves.
- I also feel like keeping the fundraising page open is somewhat like making a deal with the devil. You reap the rewards from a supportive public, but the public gets access to the family in return.
