I was able to listen to the testimony here and there. I was greatly comforted by the prosecutor's style. He is firm, but a complete gentleman. Plus he is not harsh on the yes, just saying :blushing:

Well, I can't buy catathymic homicide. Paternal filicide is a real rarity in the U.S. I can't buy that we have this very rare crime, and on top of that, or within that very small category of homicides, we happen to have this extremely rare kind of homicide.

I have to look within the very small number of paternal filicides that occur for what the common motives are, and there I see revenge (I just happened to have researched paternal filicides fairly recently because of another case I'm following.). And if ever a case had evidence of revenge motive screaming all over it, this one does. AS told everybody he wanted revenge against Jessica, with specifically saying he wanted to do it by murdering one or more of the girls.

But, that's not the question here. The question is whether he was insane when he murdered these precious little girls, and I think ample evidence was presented that he was not. Surprisingly, it was primarily the defense witnesses and their questioning by the defense lawyer that led me to that opinion. I don't fault the defense attorney. You can only work with what you have.

I'll be surprised if the jury finds AS was insane.

I wish all cases were as clearcut to me as this one is.

After Aaron and Jessica Schaffhausen separated, neighbor got calls from him asking if Jessica was dating anyone.
