I personally do not believe they had anything to do with eachother... But we will see. Crazy regardless, especially to live in a city relatively small and have 2 guys missing 2 weeks apart.
You are probably right after I read Byron's facebook. He was struggling day to day.

According to Altoona Police Chief Jesse James, a kayaker found the body at approximately 11:24 a.m. on Friday November 24, 2017.

Our ABC affiliate WQOW in Eau Claire asked the chief if this was one of the people missing from the Eau Claire area. James said he did not feel comfortable saying anything, but added, "Hopefully we can give some family peaceful resolution, if it is one of the missing bodies."

He said he doesn't believe the public is in any danger, and hopes to have an identification with a week, but there is no firm timetable set.

Still no leads I;m starting to worry that either of them aren't in the river, somebody stated they both went missing 1.5 miles form each other, they both also went missing 1.5 miles from Dehmler Park and if they haven;t turned up in water, they may unfortunately be connected. They call animal cruelty a precursor for a reason. Btw is the above article old? That may have been one of the articles about Mares unfortunately.

The water is possibly frozen now.
If I mapped correctly(and I have terrible mapping skills) the distance was about 1.5 miles.
My thoughts are that one or both could have been approached or offered a ride by someone and something bad happened. Moo

The river has a bit of ice in spots but is still definitely flowing. I pass it everyday going to work.
And I think they're both in the river. TBH. It happens a lot in Wisconsin & Minnesota. :(

I have a bit of insider info I can't post publicly due to rules, but it definitely leans toward him being in the river.

Also: Brenden's sister and niece died in a car crash a few years ago and I feel terribly for his poor mother :'(
