i asssume we are looking a no option for parole ever?
No, don’t think so.

He faces 76 charges, including six counts of first-degree intentional homicide and 61 counts of reckless endangerment. Each homicide count carries a mandatory life sentence. Each reckless endangerment count carries a maximum sentence of 17 1/2 years in prison.

Did the jury hear that DB had to stick his head out the window because he had a victim on the windshield? If so, which witness testified to this? I must have missed this. I heard it in the pre trial only.

Thanks!

I think it would be stupid for him to call her to the stand if he asked her to send him those pictures.

Unless I missed something, the photos were not admitted into evidence because he refuses to go to his cell and get the letter to prove where they came from. If they aren’t in evidence, he can’t bring them up. Also, they are pretty much irrelevant. He is writing to prove ex is scared of him, but she never said that on record and the state dropped the charges related to the DV so the jury would not get confused.

I have a lot of respect for the state attorneys and how they have tried this case. If he said she sent them I believe him and they have phone tapes that confirm this.

I think the DV incident from the day prior was dropped due to lack of visible injuries. The DV incident that occurred the day of the parade is being charged.

DB wants to introduce the photos and letter to impeach the lead detective’s testimony that EP is/was afraid of DB. DB said she must not be that scared because she is sending me pics and letters. IMO, he is obsessing with such a “minor” charge compared to six international homicides and dozens of attempted homicide charges.

All moo

Some WI attorneys quoted in this article

Lawyer has a way with words...

“I’m unaware of any issues that Dorow has created or anything like that,” said Thomas Grieve, a former prosecutor who now works as a criminal defense attorney in Madison. “I think the judge has done a fantastic job of patiently addressing all of Mr. Brooks’ issues, which seem to have no end. He has gotten what he wanted. He has made his bed and tucked himself into it throughout this entire process. Now he’s facing the consequences of it.”

Thank you! I think you are right and they didn’t want to confuse the day before with the day of. It’s hard to follow sometimes with him interrupting every 10 seconds!

The photos are irrelevant. He said he had a letter that came with the photos, questioned what signed means and can not produce any such letter. Momma admitted she sent the photos and it would not be odd for EP to send grandmother photos of the children. He was surprised that the DA knew of his conversation with momma. For whatever reason, he was trying to prove EP lied when she said she had no contact with him since 11/21/21. To what end, I do not know.

EP has no role in this carnage and even if she did send a letter and photos, the trial is not about whether she lied about fearing him or not. The facts do not change even if ALL of her testimony were to be deemed incredible.

He's tangled up in the weeds.

Yup it would require him opening the door and he is dumb enough to do that for the prosecution.

I believe the witness talking about DB sticking his head out the window was an Officer Lierhman (sp?) - unsure of which day or time. Also, I'm thinking the witness named Bonesteele (fabulous name going in my memory-bank) was the witness testifying about seeing a lady on the hood - Jane or Ginny/Virginia, not sure of name exactly. I could be wrong on these names as well as the following; I don't think the connection between DB sticking his head out and victim on hood was actually alluded to during either testimony. Again, I could be wrong. If all of that was the case, it likely wasn't alluded to in court due to graphic severity of that moment.

Apologies in advance for being graphic and possibly wrong about names and situation.

The hat and coat hood that we saw trapped by the windshield wipers on the SUV belonged to one of the Dancing Grannies. They showed a video shot of her holding the banner. It hurts my heart to think of how they got there.

What an evil person he is.

Momma admitted she sent the photos and it would not be odd for Erika to send grandmother photos of the children. He was surprised that the DA knew of his conversation with momma. For whatever reason, he was trying to prove Erika lied when she said she had no contact with him since 11/21/21. To what end, I do not know.

it's eminently possible Brooks belongs to the jailhouse lawyer model of 'if you can't dazzle them with brilliance, then baffle them with <modsnip: language>'.
