I will be there today too for closing arguments.
Thank you so much for reporting ...it is priceless as we can only imagine. Your description of the jury is interesting...would not doubt he will say no his peers. Juries and their decisions scare me but in this case I just can't imagine any other verdict than 100% guilty intentional. Look forward to your reports today.

I don’t understand how he was allowed to represent himself. Even during initial hearings, he was constantly saying he didn’t understand and was being difficult. So you can represent yourself and just use it as an opportunity to yell at the judge and be disruptive?? It makes no sense to me.

His craziness reminds me of Colin Ferguson representing himself in ‘94. I had to look up the case….forgot his name.
I couldn't remember that name either, so Thank You. But I could sure remember watching that demented guy defending himself. Now I can look it up to refresh my memory.

I spent the day in the courtroom yesterday and went downtown to see the street for which on this unfathomable tragedy occurred. Being in the same room as DB is like being in a room with a human-sized wolf spider—sharp fangs and venom but you can't squash it because it has its rights. One thing that I will never forget was when DB was screaming louder than he ever has when he was muted and in the other courtroom. He was screaming at the top of his lungs. Two different branches of the courthouse could hear him. It was so loud and the way the sound vibrated through the courthouse, it literally sounded like a demon shrieking from the gates of hell. I looked over at the victim's and saw Jackson Spark's dad wiping sweat off his forehead, shaking his head and other victim's putting their heads in their laps. You could feel their anguish—the victims' pain felt so real and it was emanating through out the courtroom. The jury is composed of older, intelligent-looking men and women. No African-Americans but there were a couple Latino jurors. Everyone else on the jury is Caucasian.

How wonderful it will be when this monster is convicted. He knows it is coming and is just trying to delay the inevitable. I did see DB's reflection in his computer monitor, his eyes and face. Something about him makes me think of ISIS, I think it's just because he's a ruthless psychopath that would probably join them if they let him drive over people on camera but at one point I think he made eye contact with my reflection and I remember looking up and seeing him looking at me and other's in the gallery through the reflection on his monitor and I just remember thinking, if looks could kill and the horrifying glares he loves to make. I don't think we've ever seen someone so evil in a Wisconsin courtroom.

Thank you SO much for this. ❤️ It's the only thing we miss when trials are streamed and it is so important. I feel so sorry for everyone who has to be in the presence of this demon.

Because it it his right to represent himself and because he was cleared by 4 doctors. He is not incompetent, he has personality disorders.

Good Morning to everyone....count down until the end of this disaster. It will be a long morning...I suppose the thing that will keep it lively is watching DB. I assume he will have to watch from courtroom next door..so looking forward to DA Opper's closing.

I feel so bad for EP having to put up with this monster. He is so controlling, abusive, and manipulative. I can’t imagine how he spoke to EP after seeing how he speaks to the judge. He is an awful human.

Moo.

The most draining man EVER!

So....a break already. Soon to be followed by another break, when he is removed from the court room for spouting off in front of the jury. I expect him to be shackled at the wrists as well as ankles soon.

He wants to put off sentencing at a later date if a conviction. Judge said she will talk to victims the following Monday to decide.

This dude just doesn’t want to go to prison imo.

Also sounds like he wants to talk at sentencing.

He learned a new word: Stopple, which he doesn't agree to. :)

Here we go.

Stall.
I don’t know.
It’s not my fault.
I don’t understand.
I couldn’t do …..
Why couldn’t I….
How did I forfeit?

How does he not understand that the judge can’t tell him anything? She can’t explain how to present his case.

From Google: Estoppel is an equitable doctrine, a bar that prevents one from asserting a claim or right that contradicts what one has said or done before, or what has been legally established as true. Estoppel may be used as a bar to the re-litigation of issues or as an affirmative defense

it appears that someone feeds him this info at night...could by mother not sure and he comes in seemingly calm...shuffles his fort around and then pounces. I love the fact that he actually said that many will want to speak at sentencing...don't think he means victims. Apart from his mother would they drag some extended family in there? Has there been anyone there during trial for this guy?

judge cannot remove him with jury there so should have asked three times if he can behave during closing. He would have not answered thus forfeiting right to be in courtroom with jury and they could move him during this break....I think after a couple of table slamming he should have been shackled at wrists too.

Right? He made it sound like he had multiple people ready to speak on his behalf. What a joke. No one besides his poor Mom is ever going to call or talk to him again. I can’t wait for the victim impact statements and this monster’s indifference will become abundantly clear. His only emotion is anger.

He’s stalling every possible way.

That was quick.

I’m so done with this judge! At this point I’m more frustrated with her than him. He’s like a broken record, we know what he’s up to. She still won’t acknowledge the futility of giving multiple chances after saying this is the last chance! Gah! JMO
