Found Safe WI - David Stenzel, 72, Lisbon, Waukesha County, 5 August 2019 *May be hitchhiking

A missing person alert has been issued for David Stenzel. Stenzel is a white male, 72 years old, five feet six inches tall, 172 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He may be wearing a black t-shirt and black jogging pants.

He was last seen at his residence in Lisbon, WI at 11 pm on Monday, August 5. He may be hitchhiking. Also, he has ties to the Wisconsin Rapids and Wood County area, and may be attempting to go there.

The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office does not believe there is a danger to the public or that this is a result of foul play. If you locate or have recently seen Mr. Stenzel, please contact the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office via 911 or (262) 446-5070 and an officer will respond to your location. Anyone having information about the disappearance of Mr. Stenzel should contact the Waukesha Sheriff at (262) 548-7122.

Does anyone remember the member that has connections to get info out to the truckers in the U.S.? I cannot remember her/his WS name.... I know it reminds me of a chiuahua for some reason..

This is my neck of the woods. There’s been a statewide Silver Alert and they’ve been really good about getting his face and name out there. Unfortunately there was another MP case from Lisbon a couple weeks ago that didn’t end well, so I know they’re definitely taking this one a lot more seriously. I would bet money he took I-94 or I-41 and is going that way.

That is exactly what I was thinking... get the truckers on 94 to keep any eye out.

I saw silver alert notifications on Highway 18 today when I was going home from work, and I’ve NEVER seen one there. I definitely think they are working all possible angles and routes.

The Silver Alert was expanded to the entire state. The main search area was near Townline Road and Main Street, where there are two large quarries in the area.

A command post was established at a nearby church but was moved to Sussex High School.

Stenzel was believed to be wearing a black T-shirt and black jogging pants.

Crews were using Flight For Life and ATVs to try to find him.

Saw police presence at one of the quarries in the area this morning but it was only one car and wasn’t technically in Lisbon - but was off an I-94 exit. Police are on 94 and 41 in droves today though. I don’t think I’ve seen mobilization like this on a highway since Jayme Closs.

This may not mean anything significant, but I was driving through Lisbon/Sussex area today on 94 and the road signs no longer have the Silver Alert on them, they’ve been changed back to “tailgate at Miller Park, not on the roads”.
