I saw this case when I had just been looking up the peculiar phenomenon of young men murdering their parents and sometimes a sibling as well. I looked up EM's age, and sure enough, he's 25.
Within just an hour before seeing this Metzig thread, I had been researching why young men are committing parricide.
This is from the local Green Bay paper. It has some videos.

Winnebago Co. DA’s Office: Son in custody after parents found dead in Wolf River home
WOLF RIVER, Wis. (WFRV) – A husband and wife were found dead inside their home in Winnebago County on Saturday morning, and officials say they have the couple’s son in custody. As of Mo…www.wearegreenbay.com
These are the two other cases I've followed recently:
#1 Convicted Florida, no parole, Grant Amato
#2 Convicted Wisconsin, no parole, Chandler Halderson
Yep, Wisconsin. And the Halderson case was not only spellbinding, but exemplary for a court case. Wisconsin has every which kind of forensic specialist, and they are all really good at their jobs! The whole trial is worth watching for all the forensics, but also the thoughtfulness of the judge and the preparation of the prosecution. Brilliant all around. We also have recorded interviews of Chandler and his girlfriend. We even have tapes of their rides in (separate) patrol cars to "downtown". His girlfriend was in no way responsible for the murder, just so it's clear.
Here is the Halderson case; definitely worth a watch while waiting for the Metzig case to evolve. All you need is the prosecutor's opening to get a clue, but the whole trial is on the Law and Crime network on YouTube:
Do you have any new insights into why young men are killing parents and families?
