What he did still makes me sick. Oh gee no signs of mental illness....

From the article:Andrew Steele, 41, can no longer move in a way that would pose a risk to himself or others, Dane County Circuit Court Judge Nicholas McNamara wrote. McNamara added that symptoms of a mental disorder haven’t manifested since his trial, showing Steele likely didn’t suffer from a mental disease when Ashlee Steele and Kacee Tollefsboll were killed.

Old news now, but since it hasn't been posted:

Andrew Steele died last March 7, 2017--the birthday of one of his victims, sister-in-law Kacee Tollefsbol

I have been waiting to read that Steele was dead. And now he is. I thought it would be more satisfying. This crime was so outrageous and the information available seemed quite incomplete. According to the article, even the family didn't get satisfactory answers from him. They didn't even get an apology.

What a horrifically tragic case all around.

My cousins were murdered by a close family friend in the 70's.
Everyone was stunned (my family included) and insisted something wasn't right.

An MRI revealed a frontal lobe tumor, he was dead within a year.
I wonder if any medical tests were done along with his ALS diagnosis that would explain it?
You'd think he would have been prepared with a more efficient way to kill himself.

ALS didn't do this. So sad the family will have no answers. Above someone mentioned a note was found, anyone have a link or know what the note said? I agree with others that said he killed them while he still physically could.
