I wasn't asking you personally to move on. I was saying that we as a community should move on when things like this happen rather than waste the time and money putting police officers on trial for beating up a thief.

And yes, I think his friend did have it and got away without a beating because the other officers did show up. I don't think we disagree very much on what happened. I just don't think they ought to go to prison for it. Send them to some training classes, put them on desk duty for awhile, be done with it. Let's not ruin the lives of three police officers over this guy.
The law is a two edge sword and should cut both ways.
If it were turned around the other way you may be saying those punks need to go to jail.
However I have a feeling there is some blue connected with your background or you would know and feel as most of us that no one is above the law including cops who take the law into their own hands.

Bartlett - one of the defendants in the Jude trial, is being sued civilly for the shooting death of a man while on duty. This particular cop has quite a track record with investigations of excessive force, racism, etc. Of course, this didn't come into the Jude trial.

I can't imagine Bartlett's legal bills...

Bartlett gave me the creeps. I think all three of their records should have been used as evidence in the trial. Especially if they had been in trouble for excessive force or the Bartlett's shooting. I think a jury should have a full picture. So often juries don't hear things that they should hear and later they admit that their verdict would have been different if they had known everything about a person.
