Well, maybe she just felt the need to get away. The UP of Michigan is a good place for that. And with all of the bad things that have been going on with kids and their 'parents' around here, it could be far worse. This is only my opinion of course and many other things could be going on here.

What an unusual twist. She was stuck in the snow, got towed out, and also had her dog taken to the pound (and got the dog out again). Sounds like she needed a break.

Quote from article:
A recent Facebook post by one of Ringen's family members stated the family was satisfied that she was safe. But investigators say the Monona Police Department and her family still consider Ringen to be at risk.

Chief Ostrenga says the remote area where she was seen is near Pictured Rocks State Park. He says they were able to track her credit card there after a towing company pulled her out of three feet of snow. He says officials there told him she was walking around on snow shoes.

Channel 27's Tony Galli spoke with Chief Ostrenga Friday as well as Skip Rutter, the tow truck operator who pulled her out.
Rutter says "She had walked out or something. I think she had tied her dog at her car, so she didn't have to walk all the way out with the dog. Then, someone else came across the dog and brought it to the pound, because they didn't know what was going on."

Ostrenga says Ringen was reunited with her dog, but staff members from the facility didn't know she was missing and didn't stop her.

I wonder where she got the snow shoes? Is that something she always had in her car? Why leave the poor dog tied to the car in the snow? I fear she may be struggling with some mental illness or other medical issue. That article goes on to say she has a full time job and 3 kids and this is out of character for her. And police are going to try to get her picture put up on billboards in the Upper Peninsula.

It sounds as though she has been reunited with her mom. Prayers to the family as they work through whatever happened.
