I'm not sure it was ever said that he was destitute. There's plenty of slackers out there who manage to leech of their parents for their entire lives. We'll have to wait and see about all that. What is an issue is if it was turned over to the credit union, he had the clock ticking on how long he could stay there undetected.
The grantor is listed as the credit union, the grantee is listed as the father. Which would mean the bank transferred over the title to the father because the mortgage must have been paid in full and now the grantee(father) owns the deed.

Repost of my press conference notes:

Jayme reunited with family.

Not releasing information that will upset Jayme.

Gun consistent with murders has been recovered. Awaiting ballistics testing.

Shotgun.

Used to shoot open door at Closs home. Door not kicked in.

Shaved his head to not leave evidence at crime scene.

Nothing shows that the suspect knew anyone in Closs family.

Specifically targeted Jayme. This was planned.

Suspect not at home when Jayme escaped.

Suspect tried to find her after she escaped.

Why?: police trying to figure that out.

No social media connection. Don’t know how he became aware of Jayme.

Jayme is talking.

Search warrants being served.

Looking to see if he had help.

911 call wasn’t helpful (bad audio).

Jayme was kept in a home.

More than one gun was recovered, but the shotgun recovered is key.

We will learn a lot during his court appearance on Monday.
Thank you for reposting the recap of today's press conference!! Easy to read this list!

The officer at the press conference said they don't plan to have another one this weekend. Court happenings on Monday will reveal more info. So...for now, this is the list of info we have (plus any TOS-okay sleuthing we do).

Handy list! (nudge, nudge: repost again over the weekend)

Two adults were killed, the door was shot. Those are the facts. Not sure what you're debating - help me understand your point.

Two shots were heard by neighbors. One to do in the door. Dad could have been a victim there if jp got lucky, two birds one stone kinda thing. The other shot heard was mom. Buck shot can penetrate a solid wood door, especially at close range, go watch utube. U need to read the post prior to my comment as to why I said what I did.

Haaa. I saw your comment so I figured I’d post it again.

Monday will be a big day, as we will see the charging document.

I imagine that it will be quite extensive, and we’ll learn some things that will clear this up a bit.

Quite a change from a few days ago, when this case looked hopeless.

Maybe they now see things differently! I'm anxious to hear the story of what really led this murderer and kidnapper to the Closs door!

Wonder why they are not giving out that info ??

If that's the case, then this makes sense. I had thought it was stated earlier that it was the other way around.

That has not been said for definite..IIRC Fitzgerald said with no trace of another person being in that house or no evidence left behind he didnt think the perp could have went more than 5 feet in the house ( not exact words but my interpretation ) of his statement. However today he stated JP went to extensive lengths to hide his identi and plan this ( shaving ect) They may be rethinking that since he went to great lengths.
I would think he had to go get Jayme.

I think as a light comment I will add that I read Grandpa is buying her a steak tonight and I hope he has water and stale bread at best. Just a little teeny bit of justice....

Just getting in to read, I’m so very behind but just wanted to say IF Jayme has been severely malnourished, iirc from the Turpin’s case food has to be reintroduced slowly. @LaborDayRN

It also gives a little hope to the parents of other missing children when a long-term missing child is found. I believe there are others out there.

Oh man I didn't know they had no heat...why not? And no cable either?
Not sure if this has been addressed but I know some rural areas near me don't have access to gas and use propane or oil. If there were still some left in the tank could they have used that for heat and hot water.

Welp. This is the opposite of what has been posted previously. So where did we get our info from initially? MSM or just a poster who viewed documents online? I can’t remember now.

They likely don’t have a clear picture yet.

Obviously they didn’t have a connection, as it took Jayme escaping for this guy to be captured.

It’ll take some time to learn how he came to target her.

I would imagine psychologists will have a say as to whether she can or should testify. And a trial may be some years away, if he refuses to confess. She will be older and may choose to.

Personally, I want him charged with everything he has done. Since LE says Jayme was the motive, if there were assaults that could become a vital part of a trial. Maybe she could testify via video for the jury alone. I am sure it will done as best as possible for her. He doe not deserve any protection from any of his crimes...they should all be exposed. Jmo

It's a whole new world we are living in today. The stigma that so many girls and boys that were sexually assaulted had is now lifted thanks to the brave survivors who tell their stories and March in the Me Too!

Telling doesn't make the victim feel dirty and ashamed anymore! It makes them brave and responsible and allows them to open the door for the next victim of sexual assult!

She is only 13. She saw her parents brutally slaughtered. She doesn't need to be burdened by the social responsibility to open the door for the next victims. She should be allowed some privacy because of her age, if she asks for some. JMO

No, you can go to Douglas County website and see it all. Not sure if I can post screen shots so it's best to just go look.
