I have such mixed feelings on this. I understand why they protect victims of sexual assault, but in doing so, I worry that they further stigmatize those victims. Brush it under the rug. Make it a seem like a dirty secret. Whatever she endured with this sicko is NOT Jayme's fault and she should not feel ashamed of any of it (understanding that is easier said than done). God Bless Elizabeth Smart and Jaycee Dugard for turning this thinking around.

Yes, that is all true. But Elizabeth and Jaycee came home to their parents, who were home, alive and well, waiting for them. I think that Jayme has a harder road, in that she has to deal with the brutal slaying of her parents, as part of this horrid nightmare.

So for her to have to also discuss long term sexual assaults during this high profile trial might just be too much for her. She was barely 13 when she was abducted.

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet... but I have the most emotional picture I have seen in years.
Excuse the whole screen capture, I was so excited!!!
It's the picture of her and her aunt! :)
To me it looks like Mollie is looking at the Aunt, saying, "See, I told you! We got our Jayme back!"

for anyone that has worries about home invasions if you ever have monitored security once you learn to be friends with it you would wonder how you ever lived without it. it documents and calls when you cant. it can even tell you everytime a door opens even if it isn't armed. even just for the security of knowing a toddler isn't getting out a door without you knowing.
And what happens if they cut ur WiFi? Most have these days and RELY on it. Sorry, I go old school! Gimme Wild West over modern technology any day!

Was thinking one of the school-type ones, parents can choose to send kids?
Excellent question, though he was 18 or close to it at the time of the photo (his birth year is being listed now as 1997). The fact that he has literally zero record is interesting--not even any traffic forfeitures. This may actually be evidence in support of time spent overseas (away from Wisconsin law). The odds of a rural Wisconsin boy racking up no speeding tickets in three years are..shall I say..beyond rare :)

Mollie must be over-the-moon happy. Patience paid off. This makes me smile, seeing them together again. Her aunt as well.

Yes, motive for sure. And when people do that crime to children...they should not get shielded from it. Society should know. What if he escapes from prison? Or gets some crazy pardon down the line?

Exactly. I couldn't agree more!

I wouldn't be surprised if he's on the autistic spectrum.
No need to blame this on mental illness. That's the first thing everyone does. IMO he's an incel aka 'involuntary celibate'. They feel entitled to a woman, and they are sick sick people. They have dozens of forums online, and often post about raping, kidnapping and murdering young girls. I am not exaggerating.

From Hennipen County’s Twitter account
In recognition of Jayme Closs's homecoming, the Lowry Bridge is lit blue and green tonight — the same colors that the community of #Barron, Wisconsin, used to decorate a Christmas tree for Jayme while she was missing.

AWESOME!!!

Could well be, in which case: Did he meet Jayme on Discord (for example?)

Was she having problems with her parents, maybe grousing a little?

<modsnip: unnecessary and irrelevant> according to police there was no indication she left her house involuntarily. Did Jake think he was "rescuing" her, and then when she understandably balked, kidnap her for lack of knowing what else to do?

"Wisconsin teen was taken against her will," Sheriff Fitzgerald.

Wisconsin Teen Jayme Closs Was Taken ‘Against Her Will’ by 21-Year-Old Man Who Killed Her Parents: Sheriff

"It also is still unclear what ties Patterson and Closs together, as police haven't uncovered any social media connections between them."

Suspect in Jayme Closs abduction has no criminal record

Maybe the Army does it differently, or times have changed since I went through Marine boot camp several years ago.

Regardless, we still don’t know if he ever enlisted, or what branch if he did.

Quitting while in boot camp isn’t unheard of. Once you are out though, there are implications and it’s not as easy. (At least, for Army)

He has already said they have found no connection between any of the three victims and the suspect. So why would they be upset just because this guy wasnt known by anyone in the family? It is what it is. This was done by a stranger so there wont be a connection to make.

I dont see why the community would be upset though.

I'm sure they have heard of other cases where the suspect had no link to the victims.

They know this suspect could have stalked Jayme anywhere without her even noticing it when she was out and became obsessed with her.

I think the community is extremely happy and relieved Jayme is alive and they finally know it wasnt one of their own local residents but someone who lived 70 miles away.

I think that knowledge itself brings the community much peace of mind.

I am totally freaked. My children and grandchildren live in an area like this in MN.

I emailed my son and told him to fence the front yard and have the kids pkay in the back.

I don’t know what my teen ones , one of whom is the sane age as Jayme, can do about living in the woods.

I hope we get as much info as possible since we know it is not social media

Tonight, the I-35W St. Anthony Falls bridge in Minneapolis is lit green to honor all the child recovery efforts made by community members, law enforcement, the media and Jayme Closs herself.

I am sooo glad to see Jayme has the country, her community, and family rallying around her. Most of all there are fellow girls and women who can empathize and can help support her through her process back to mental wholeness.

Brendt Christensen comes to mind.

My reference point is the Marines, and that’s a minimum of 4 years.

He just wreaks of “failure to adapt.” I just can’t believe he made it any length of time, let alone an entire enlistment (if he served).

ETA: I just googled it, and 2 years is apparently a possibility.

Yep. Would depend on rank/assignment/MOS usually. He could have failed at boot camp though. He doesn’t strike me as....an over achiever.

The house is still in his fathers name, however it there are back taxes owed, I know some are saying that the house was signed over but as of today it still list the father as the owner. I am still in shock and have never been happier to be wrong in my life. I did not think this would have a " happy ending". Long road ahead I am sure. Driving me crazy to know exactly how he knew her.

Also the photo of him and his mom and sister it says on the post where it is posted orginated from that he was leaving that August 17 , I assumed boot camp did he fail at that too ?

I am sure he is going to have some sort of psychological issue in the future to be discussed, some sort of social disorder. Now we wait.

Sorry for the rambling my head is still spinning
Hi there, can you post a link for for the pic you're referring to? TIA
