As an employee of a large company where staffing/productivity is always a concern, I have to point out - if their profit margin is large enough they can increase staffing based on demand. So IMO the fact that some for-profit company can deliver in 5 weeks isn't necessarily comparable to the organizations LE are relying on.
Agreed, but if the FBI wants results ASAP, they aren't waiting 6+ weeks this day and age.
Moo

It’s the timing of these girls riding by that’s so odd, not really the fact that they passed by a few times to see what was happening. If it were late on a Friday or Sat night, early into the next morning, I can sort of see it making sense as they might be coming home from wherever 17/18 year old kids go to party. But on a Sunday night/early Monday, where could they have been that would have them still on the road at 2am? Everything closes early on Sundays, and they should have school in a few hours — so why out “joy riding” at that time unless they knew something was going on and where to go looking for it. Just moo.

Probably for the same reason I'd go out with my friends and get home in time to get cleaned up and catch the bus to school, or sometimes wait down the street until the bus went by so we didn't have to go to school. The way I see it, several cars just happened to go by there while LE and friends were there, and I'm sure many people just happen to drive by when the fire department is trying to save a burning house, or someone is being loaded into an ambulance after falling down a flight of stairs. There is always the possibility that one of those people who drove by had caused whatever the problem was (murder, arson, injury, etc.), but in most cases, all of the others just happened to be passing by. I would hope that LE got a reasonable explanation for them being there and checked it out. MOO

BBM. Sorry but I disagree. Any adult who is interested in a just barely 13 year old is by definition a pedophile. Period.

Yes I certainly agree with you Gardener! And also, her family has said she was not involved with an unknown male and being she only just turned 13 and from the little we know about her, I would have to agree IMO. Not all recently turned 13 year olds are into internet socializing with strange males either, and the cops it appears haven't found anything in that regard. Moving forward.

If a 15 or 16 year old is responsible for murdering Jayme's parents and abducting her, I will eat my hat. This isn't the work of an "in love" teen. MOO.
I would have to agree with you, again. I just don't see a young teen boy being able to carry this crime off so 'spotlessly' with nothing in his wake.

Maybe they worked at the turkey factory and got off from a late shift? According to an advertisement for seasonal employees posted here 2nd shift goes until 1 AM:
