I’ve mentioned this before and honestly don’t remember where I read it, but that they heard “ you don’t have to do this” and “help” over the phone call. I have no way to confirm this however.
Maybe I’m getting forgetful, nowhere near 55 y/o but still.

This is a question for the seasoned sleuthers on this site as this is only the 3rd case I have followed- first one Sydney Loofe as that happened within an hour or so of where I live, then Mollie Tibbets because by then I was hooked , and now Jayme. Is this case crazier than most, more bizarre twists, and lack of motive or evidence than most or is it like most of the rest?

There are bizarre twists such as Gypsy Rose Blanchard or the Turpin family on WS if you want to see bizarre.

Jayme has so little info . Maybe it will turn out to be bizarre

Yep, that was a fake 911 call that someone posted on youtube titled "Jayme Closs 911 call" or something similar. It was from an unrelated case.

Many times LE knows who did a crime like this but without forensic evidence, witnesses accounts or a confession cannot make a case that will stand up in court. Perhaps that is why they are saying they need to find the gun and why the community is being so quiet about it.

Agreed... plus I think law enforcement just had s 35 yr old perp walk on child rape charges 6 months ago... don’t think They want more not guilty verdicts.

No, LE doesn’t have to reveal anything to the public. So probably more accurate would be that LE has neither specifically confirmed nor denied the witness account. And there has been nothing in the media about the witnesses backing off or expressing doubt. (Of course, LE may have since told the witnesses to not talk about the crime.) My point still is that time frame may not be accurate so we have no way of knowing and our speculations can be based on the witness account. Or not.

Right. I do think it would be accurate to say LE has given some indications that the shots heard by the neighbors were either reported at the incorrect time or were unrelated shots. The sheriff has stated in two separate interviews now that they believe the crime took place in something like 4 minutes.

Four minutes? I set the alarm for four minutes. How could all that happen in four minutes. The sheriff did say 'they' so maybe one killed the parents and the other subdued Jayme.

This had to be a well planned attack on a family. It just makes no sense at all.

A time ago, I saw a person go through my backyard and shortly thereafter realized they he had set a fire outside my garage. I called LE and they were upfront with me and said they knew who had done it because I was not the first. He was a troubled teen who lived a couple of streets over. There was no evidence they could take to court and he knew it. So it may be with this crime. LE usually knows who the bad apples are if they are local but may not have enough yet to do more than just interview.

If I'm not mistaken a lot of times they arrest any they think might be involved on a lesser charge just to keep them close.

I saw a picture of Jayme and James that looked like it was taken in their house in front of the sliding doors. It appears to be a kitchen counter to the right if you are facing the doors. That would put the kitchen area in front of Jayme's room and living area possibly in front of the parents room.

Huh? If the person didn't leave a trail, how can you tell whether he came 5, 10 or 20 feet in to the house?

im disturbed by the 5 feet into the house statement... how was james shot..Denise shot in the bathroom...the cell phone kicked away from Denise and Jayme grabbed only within 5 feet of the door?(especially if she was in bed when it happened why would Jayme run towards the door for the perp to grab her? this brings a whole new series of scenereos to mind....

Well, we've been told (truthfully or not?) that the phone didn't seem to be in the same room as where the commotion was happening that they caught on tape. We're told the phone was closer to Denise, on the floor, and may have been kicked. I would now like to know, the yelling they heard on the call, did it get louder or quieter at any point (someone coming towards or going away from the device?).

LE says nothing on the 911tape is helpful but im really starting to doubt that statement... i think several things could possibly be answered from the tape

It was found on the floor and may have been kicked. Leaves us with:
-> victim drops it as she falls after being shot and it falls further away maybe sliding across the floor appearing as though it was kicked
-> perp actually kicks it away from victim
-> Jayme drops or kicks it away (but why?!)
-> Maybe the dog was running around the scene in a panic and knocked the phone away from where it might have originally been giving it a kicked appearance?

just my mind racing but could whoever made the call have slid it axross the floor because someone was coming in the room in hopes of the perp not seeing it and it staying connected long enough for 911 to trace the call to its location or record any info

4 minutes is a much longer time than we may think.

If we sit still watching our watch until 4 minutes has elapsed it is more than ample time for all of this to happen.

I had said previously based on what Fitzgerald had said earlier both parents were shot dead in close proximity to one another. The new article seems to support that as well.

It wouldnt even take a half of a minute or less for him to kill Denise and James both.

That would leave him more time than necessary to force Jayme out of her home with time to spare.

She would be scared to death and would comply to his every demand.

Imo she knew if she did not he would kill her too just like he did her parents. Imo he would make sure she knew that if she tried to run. She knew she was under his total control and I think he forced her out of her home at gunpoint.

Just for thought... could Jayme have left the house with the perp...maybe a "crush" or boyfriend sneaking out to see him....so Jayme is allready sitting in his car unaware of the plan about to unfold then James and Denise hear her leave and wake up go to the door to stop her and then all hell breaks loose...Jayme is allready in the car possibly in shock so quick get away with her....again just a random scenero to throw out... trying to thinknof every angle

It just occurred to me that maybe the perp(s) did actually think that someone might get a call into 911 and that is why they were so fast in and out. I've been kinda thinking that they were surprised by the 911 call and had to book it but now it seems like, if there was any planning involved, they'd likely consider everyone having a phone and possibly calling 911 as part of the planning.

Also, as somewhat an aside, I've noticed that I always type "perps" and then go back and change it to perp(s) when I catch it. I must subconsciously think it is more than one?

That could mean with large Gun she’s not stupid?

Could mean she knows perp.. and felt no choice..??

I think your right... timeline is amazingly low... I think 10 seconds kick on door ... 10 seconds 2 shots.... perp likely finds out 911 call 45/60 seconds later .. perp likely gone from house 15/30 seconds after he finds out 911 call.. that seems quick... to be honest seems too quick... like Closs family was already up or there was conversations prior to
