Could this be a case of hide in plain sight? The perpetrator could have walked away or rode a quad like the Holly bobo abduction.
Yeah, makes me think LE should re-interview ALL the sex offenders AND meth heads in the area. Those two types of criminals go hand in hand. They are very creepy people that do creepy things and yet they walk among us....free to roam.

Whatever was heard during the call gave the dispatcher the impression it was a suicide attempt, rather than a family being in imminent danger of being murdered. Any thoughts on what would have given that impression?

Ithink the dispatcher only sent out cars because of hang up. The officers on the scene thought suicide.

Strange as to the fact he was in the doorway and they noted multiple spent ——- ( casings? )

I've been periodically monitoring the Barron County active warrant list. There is an ARREST WARRANT not bench warrant for a convicted child sexual offender ( even though there are no new charges on Wi court website: (Wisconsin Circuit Court Access)
He was apprehended in Colorado few weeks ago.
Colorado inmate list website: http://www.garcosheriff.com/current_inmates.html)
says he is wanted in another state for being noncompliant on sex registry. He was previously convicted in Barron for 2nd degree sexual assault of child with non family member female under age 16. Records state he's high risk to reoffend.
Hopefully that means he's being extradited to Wi.
COINCIDENCE?!***My question is why would an ARREST WARRANT be issued ( vs. Bench warrant) AND actively pursued yet there are other Barron county sex offenders with 5+ year old BENCH warrants who have not been pursued?( I say they haven't been pursued because they seem to be easily located thanks to Google.)
Please note that due to forum rules, I am not posting persons name or specific wesite links since they have not been implicated in this case.
Coincidence??!
He was convicted of the sexual assault when he was 17 years old, in 2004. The crime as it's listed on the CO website is considered a misdemeanor and they are going to extradite him. You are definitely on to something.
Most of his crimes since then are for traffic violations.
There's a reason why they put out a nationwide BOLO on him and it's not for something minor.

Hello everyone, just joined, first post.

I came to this forum looking for info, because there isn’t much in the news these days. I’ve read a lot of these threads, but nowhere near all. Came too late and couldn’t keep up. Hopefully it’s not all a repeat, but here’s my take on it:
I tend to think about these types of cases differently than most people, I go into it like I’m the one that did it (hope that’s not TOO weird). I know my crime from the headlines, why did I do it that way? Then, how did I do it? I’m not buying random drifter\drug user home invasion and Jayme was a target of opportunity. Those types of people are *usually* career criminals, and career criminals are usually turnips. Or that there was more than one person. Loose lips sink ships and all that. No, Jayme was the target of one guy. So, why did I do it this way? It’s been stated many times there are easier, less risky (or even willing) targets out there. So, that means I wanted a particular girl. Why the violent home invasion in the middle of the night? Well, that’s easy to me, I live in the same small town I grew up in. I could not abduct a kid walking home, waiting at the bus stop, hanging out at the gas station or anywhere else because everybody knows me. And my car, and can give you turn by turn directions to my house. There’s no way I don’t get caught. If I want this kid, I have to do it this way.

Now, how did I do it? Here’s the big assumption in my theory: I have to assume that since I got her and left no evidence or even any suspects, that my plan and execution was nearly flawless. I don’t believe the average root vegetable pulls this off with that much “luck”. I also believe the sheriff’s timeline is off. If I’m only in the house a few feet for a few minutes, then my plan has to include a way to get every member of the household within a few feet of the front door. In the middle of the night. As the victim, my wife might get up to see who is at the door with me, but I doubt it VERY much. And there’s no chance my daughter, that is about Jayme’s age, does. Zero. I also can’t believe they run into the room after I’m shot at the door. They would give me up for dead if there was a spider in the same room as me. Most people do not run towards unexpected gun fire, they run away, hide and call 911. Back to being the perp. I cannot come up with a single scenario that I can get them all to the door with enough frequency for me to plan for it. I can only come up with a couple, and neither fit with the facts of the case and present their own set of problems for me. The best one is, let’s say I come to your door in the middle of the night, kick it open and start yelling your name and to get everyone out because the house is on fire. Since you know me, you all come rushing out and as soon as everyone is in sight, I start shooting. That’s pretty risky, inducing panic in the victims makes them unpredictable. But, for the sheriff to be right on the timeline, they all had to be in the front room at 1:00 am for some reason. I highly doubt that I can shoot the parents, then locate a scared girl hiding somewhere in a house I’m probably not familiar with more than the “public” areas of (a lot of people know me and have been in my living room. None of them ((hopefully)) are familiar with my teenage daughter’s bedroom). WHILE leaving no evidence I went more than a couple steps into the house? Doing all that and being gone in a few minutes…? Very unlikely. Also, knowing small town cops on the night shift are probably the newest out of the academy and bored, just waiting for a call… The response time will be super fast. A S.E.A.L. Team probably doesn’t pull all of that off. Not the first time anyway.

I think the neighbor’s timeline is closer to being accurate. For that, I only have to get the parents into the front room. There’s a lot more possibilities for that to happen. Then, I have what, 25 minuets to search the house, locate and subdue Jayme, while being careful not to disturb anything. The only hiccup to my plan is, on the way out of the house Jayme gets free long enough to grab a phone and press three buttons, but I get her back under control and we are out the door before the operator calls back. That’s the only way this makes sense to me.

Now, here’s a few things I’d like to know that as far as I’ve read have not been released, but would help fill in some gaps:

1) What were James and Denise wearing?

2) Did James bring a weapon to the door?

These would let us know if they were expecting someone. Knock on my door after midnight, and I will have a bat\golf club\Glock 19 in one hand unless I know you AND am expecting you.

3) Exact location of the bodies. To me, “in the doorway” means within the swing radius of the door. That would mean the door was kicked in and then James moved into it (house fire scenario?).

4) How many shots were fired? There’s a big difference in the person that murders two people with two rounds, and the person that uses 52. However, I have to believe “multiple” means more than two. Anybody that shoots and reloads will tell you even a big, bright red 12 gauge hull can be impossible to find. An officer going up the steps probably isn’t going to see all the empties when he is focused on a potential armed assailant.

They may release something that changes my mind, but for now I believe she was targeted by someone that knew her and is known in town. I also believe they still have her close by. Why go through all that trouble just to kill her? I don’t see any danger of being caught as of right now, either. Plus, it’d be pretty risky dumping a body right now. Never know who will stop you to chat or see you where you shouldn’t be, based on being very familiar with small towns.
Sorry for the wall of text.

Fabulous analysis.

I feel if the LE saw spent shells, it had to be in the house. I don’t think the perp shot James from outside on the porch.

The perp has to be agile. Getting a kick in on that tiny doorstep has to be tricky. It implies a younger person to me.

I’d like to hear more thoughts/reasoning on the following:

1) who made 911 call
2) who hung up 911 call
3) who is heard on 911 call

On 1), I tend to think that Denise made the call, since it was her phone. Next most likely is Jayme, because Denise gave her the phone and told her to make it. I think it is least likely that the perp or James made the call.

On 2), I tend to think that the person who made the call was the one who hung up the call. Next most likely is the perp. Stated another way, I don’t think Jayme made the call but then Denise hung it up. I think if Jayme made the call, then either she or the perp hung it up.

On 3), this is where it gets tricky. I think based on the statements made by Fitz (call made it sound like phone was in one area but sounds on call were coming from another), it is unlikely that whomever made the call is the background noise heard on the call.

So the way this logically strings up for me is that Jayme makes and hangs up the call, and either her parents and/or the perp are the ones heard on it.

I think you are correct ... arrive where most do ...child had phone .. made call..
parents likely died doing what is instinctual....protect your house and offspring... jayme makes call frozen in fear/ pain... can’t speak cause she doesn’t wanna get caught. Either hiding or under blanket...
Hanging up call ... makes no sense.. battery dying does ... unless reason child hangs up phone is perp getting closer or pointing gun at them... dunno maybe she was turning off then try’s to bolt out back ... dunno...

Below is another audio enhancement.. hope to goodness they have something..

They didn’t find vehicles of interest till 7 days in... didn’t locate them till days later..

I’m thinking poi own/drive cars...

That’s 10 days or more to dispose body or clean evidence...

Can police easily obtain cell movements for 7/10 days of two cell phones?? Of POI??

Police Using Suspected Serial Killer’s Cell Phone Records To Track Movements

Apparently they can track movements of cell phone. The POI phone in Sydney Loofes case was used to track within a few feet of where they found her body Investigators recognized for significant break in Sydney Loofe case

Was there any light on in the house when they got there is a good question. If it was completely dark in there she could have been laying in the middle of the room and still not be seen. I am guessing the deputy had a flashlight though and probably shined it around. Depending on the amount of furniture in the house she could have been unseen until entering farther in the house.

(respectfully snipped by me)

If there were lights on when LE arrived, then why wasn’t Denise visible from the door? Either behind furniture or body in a different area of home. If lights were NOT on, how did perp do this in the dark?

Logic suggests there had to be at least one light on and Denise was behind something or in another area.

I doubt any sort of night vision stuff was used, or that perp took the time to turn off any lights.

Not sure if this is important or not, other than it might give more information as to where Denise was.

Thoughts?

May I ask why we don't know if the door was kicked in or shot up, when the dispatch logs states it was kicked in? Wouldn't police have noticed if it had been shot up and that would have also appeared in their notes?
"317 REQUESTED ERT BE PAGED OUT. ADVISED THE DOOR HAS BEEN KICKED IN.

Do we know if the door was kicked in by the perp or that the door was kicked in by the cops to gain access to the house? The way I read the dispatch logs this can be taken either way. Was there ever a statement by LE that the perp and not the responding officers kicked in the door?

Did we ever hear from the Sheriff that they searched the neighbor's property and inside their house? I haven't read that but I think if they haven't that they need to, especially since their story doesn't all ring true. It certainly doesn't ring true on their timeline that has changed.

So So agreeing with you, Rubiconbob.
Thanks for yet another excellent audio enhancement. Fascinating contrast. All your posts leave us better informed.

Was wondering (based on your very logical sequence of events), if maybe
a) perp finds Jayme hiding, and grabs Jayme wrapped in her blanket, using the blanket wrapped around her to keep her arms or legs from movement, like punching or kicking him
b) perp begins to run out of the hallway,
c) cellphone falls out of the blanket, gets turned off, and is left on floor where LE found it (??)

But it makes me think, ....wouldn't the perp's DNA be somewhere, ....exactly at the spot where he scooped her up?
a) against a wall
b) from her bed
c) from the floor in the hallway near the phone?

But, ..... How then could the perp go only "5 feet into the house"?

Alternative Scenario ~

Did the perp demand that Jayme come over to him ? And Jayme (still wrapped in a blanket) had the cellphone in the waistband of her pajamas, or in a pocket, ...and it fell out? Does LE hear the perp yelling his demands on the 911 call? and then, understandably, Jayme obeys, because the perp makes it clear that there are only two options for her: Go with him, or death? Is this why LE won't let the family hear the enhanced 911 call?

So many questions.

Jayme is a very brave young lady. She tried to get help to her parents.
I pray she is alive and comes back to her extended family.

maybe the person here who formerly worked at Jennie-O could answer a question

What protective clothing does Jennie-O employees wear? Is it disposable? What happens to it at the end of a shift?

Strange as to the fact he was in the doorway and they noted multiple spent ——- ( casings? )

1) most depts have to respond to hangups
2) this was more of a "can't talk but bad things are happening" call -- not a typical hangup
3) midnight rural WI, not much going on, dispatcher would have sent everyone most likely. even those not specifically dispatched probably would have rolled
4) small area, cars were likely all very close

Not sure why there is much discussion about the response to the hangup as it's about the only "normal" piece of this case.

Hi all, I'm new here and have tried to catch up on this story but please bear with me if my question has already been discussed.

I read that Jayme changed schools from Cameron Middle School to Barron Riverview Middle School because her family caretaker had moved.

What is a "family caretaker" and why does she need one? Was the family caretaker at her school? I'm from Australia and we don't use that expression, so just wondering.

Also the schools are only about 7 miles apart so why would you go to the trouble of moving schools, it can be quite stressful at that age with friendships etc.

There are interesting discussions and theories on this case but we (the public) have very little to go on so it's a baffling mystery.

My heart goes out to her family and I hope she is found alive soon.

Off Topic....a little....wanted to share....I just watched the movie "Eighth Grade" and thought is was well done. Story of a 13 year old girl who is ending the 8th grade. The actress (who was actually 13 at the time) was great and really showed what, I think, is a typical teen. One scene showed a mother talking to her daughter asking her daughter to invite the girl to a party on Facebook and the girl rolled her eyes and said no one uses Facebook anymore! Anyway, the movie shows all the kids using their cell phones for their connection to others. I never really understood what "snap chat" was until I looked it up today. The girl in the movie just reminded me of sweet Jayme.

My grandson is 13. He doesn't have a fb acct. Him and his friends, both girls and boys, are using Discord for chatting. They also have snap-chat and Instagram, but don't use it much. I gave him the stranger danger lecture so many times,I can't count. He tells me their Discord group is invite only.

I imagine LE has tools for entering. Kicking could cause an injury so I doubt they do that

Ive seen 9mm speedloaders filled straight from a box, but the most I could ever do at a time is 2. Lol. Theres also mag loaders that go right over one or two rows and lifts it right off the tray. There are also long tweezer type tools (no clue what they are called) intended to pick up a row. Theres probably more but those are ones I know of.

No doubt there are products I'm not familiar with on the market. I have two speed loaders for 9mm, and one for a .45 but you still have to handle the ammo. I've never seen anything that takes them out of the box :).
