Then why did it take 8 1/2 minutes from when they advised "two subjects down" until they reported "two subjects down, unresponsive" ? They must have been attempting resuscitation on one or both.

Don’t know where your getting 8.5 minutes.. if you look at the logs it’s 1: 03... possible suicide.. he’s likely cautious walking into crime scene... at 1:04 he says multiple rounds spent... at that instant.. he’s a cop and probably knows it’s not suicide... 1:05 states door kicked in.. he’s likely certain it’s not suicide..

He’s requesting backup and additional resources...

At 1:08 2nd body down. That’s 5 min..

The house is not big.... likely not hard to quick search. Why 5 min lag before Denise body found. I don’t know.. maybe after cops sees 2 bullets and door kicked in he is concerned about other things.. does anyone know if all lights on when police arrived?? You make good point.. think they should be visible quickly .. no lights Denise 15 ft further in house.. really not sure..

If the lights were out in most of the house then that explains why they wouldn't see her immediately. The time it took them to make sure no one was inside and come back around to discover the second body near the first one.

I dont know if we ever got a definitive floorplan of their home or not but could Jaymes bedroom been on the front side of the home where it could be seen from the road?

I believe Jayme's bedroom was in the back rear corner. Articles about the underwear thief say:

He said he noticed the patio door was unlocked and walked in and “immediately located a room off to the right that he believed belonged to Jayme Closs.

No sarcasm intended...I am confused and searching just like everyone...but what difference does it make how long they were in the house?? Obviously, long enough to fatally wound two people and take a child. And possibly left no DNA.!!

For me, because it is something concrete that shows the DM article lacks credibility.
If it were true though, it would reduce the number of possible scenarios.

Everyone was in bed, maybe already asleep. Door gets kicked in. Parents awakened by sound. James goes toward front door, Denise grabs phone, follows James and dials 911. James is shot and starts moaning and yelling to Denise and Jayme to hide. Denise, now trying to hide and horrified that call has connected and can hear 911 operator, disconnects. Perp, having heard 911 call, knows where she is, shoots her and then grabs Jayme and leaves out sliding door.

Fwiw, I am not taking the ‘five feet’ thing from Fitz literally.

moo.

I don't actually have complete faith in that article, but it was "new details" in MSM for a while, so assuming it was an interview with Fitzgerald I can twist the theories again. It might be useful to know when the victims die, for example.

4 minutes was what it took for the first responder to arrive on the scene, according to the dispatch log. The 911 call hung up about 2 minutes before that. LE may estimate the perps did not exit immediately after the call ended, and did not exit right before first cop arrived either. It could be an educated guess, no more than that.

In less than a few hours it will be exactly two months since Jayme went missing. This case really tears my heart up. It is so incredibly sad and frustrating not to know where Jayme is. A family member referred to Denise as "the family angel" and she would go out of her way to help anyone in need. I hope LE has checked out the people and agencies she helped along the way. A lot of people need help financially AND mentally. I hope she did not met up with a deranged person(s) who took advantage of her help. I am just grasping at anything that could be possible. I am also going back to the interview with her brother who said he had a "gut feeling" and I don't know what to make of that. I wonder if LE has the DNA back on the bullet casing. If DNA is found, and if the criminal is in the DNA database, then there may be a break in the case.

This is one of the pictures that iIwas referring to. Jayme looks older and more like 13 than 10 years old.

I was trying to find that exact kind of information, since I seemed to have a vague recollection the house may have been remodeled since it was built and her bedroom was in the former dining room, where the sliding glass doors are. Can’t find anything like that now, and that is the closest I have found to a connection between her bedroom and the sliding glass doors.

It does make me consider the possibility this house was a fishbowl with angles to see in, all the same. For example, prior to the crime, the blinds on the front of the house not being completely closed is shown in pics by members here.

With the element of surprise attack and guns, at the moment, I can’t imagine this other than a stake out and hit. It’s such a hard crime to fathom, and I agree with a poster here earlier today on the rarity of such a crime like this.

Hi there Human. Always nice to 'see' you.

Great post.

May I ask you a question since your post made me think of something?

I dont know if we ever got a definitive floorplan of their home or not but could Jaymes bedroom been on the front side of the home where it could be seen from the road?

The reason I ask is in some prior abduction cases predators have been known to cruise rural areas looking at random homes to see if there were signs a child lived there and if so they would determine which one was the child's bedroom.

They would cruise by the home during the day when the blinds may be open when the child may be in their bedroom or they look for girly frilly curtains or stickers only a child would put on their windows. Etc.

Just wondering if you or anyone knows for certain Jayme's bedroom location.

In fact I saw an ID show last week where a child had been taken and the predator knew the bedroom he went in was the child's due to stickers being on her bedroom window. After she was taken...raped and murdered everyone in the town who had young children made sure all of the childish little stickers..frilly curtains or a color and design that young boys and girls would use were removed from their children's windows from then on out.

TIA

Since Fitzgerald said the FBI profilers have made up 4 different profiles of who the suspect could be it is only logical imo that one profile includes a stranger sexual predator that randomly targeted their home because they knew a young girl lived there. Imo

Ocean

The panty thief said where her bedroom is. I forget. Somebody must know here

I seem to remember he said it was to the right of where he entered.

I have been following a different thread for a few days. This one on Jayme gets me down. Here's the post with pics of door intact:

Pic of before crime. Don't know how old it is but it is a before and after of a paint job they had
https://s3-media4.fl.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/8o3LjaitEhpA6x0UluXSdA/o.jpg

I had thought the door's hinges were on the right, but it looks like they're on the left. Maybe this has been beaten to death already, but from the previous pic of the door off the frame, I thought the hinges were on the right and the splintered remains of the door was at the hinges.

ETA: Also, looks like kitchen cabinets through the window to the right of the door and maybe a closed, white door? I can't tell. And, the square heater vent on the roof probably shows where there is a heater in the living room.

Glad you mentioned Barron LE and Barron's county sheriff. Do these two agencies work together? Are there jurisdictional separations. I know County is lead, but exactly what does that mean?
Are there any locals on this forum or verified experts?
The Barron city police handle crimes within the city limits; Barron County Sheriff's Department handle crimes within the county, but usually outside of the city limits of any town/city in the county. I believe the house is just outside the city limits so the county would be in charge of the investigation, but the city police have been working with them. MOO

With this latest news of only 5 feet into house, how did they get Jayme?

Jayme must have run into the area where shootings occurred and saw her parents down. Perp then yelled at her to come with him?

Any ideas?
The only thing that really makes sense to me that would let him grab her without going further than 5 feet from the door or staying inside for more than a few minutes would be her going out through a different door and trying to run for help.

The one thing that doesn't make any sense to me is that people keep saying that Fitzgerald said he believed the guy had kicked the phone away, causing it to end up closer to Denise. If that were the case, it would have had to be James who had the phone; for him to kick the phone from Denise, she would have to be within that 5 foot circle too, and I can't believe the first responders wouldn't have seen her immediately. It seems like the more I learn, the more I realize that I don't know. MOO

Maybe they went with the one with no make up because she likely won’t be wearing make up in captivity. So perhaps the one pic is a more natural look.

I can understand using a photo with no makeup, but I would think they could use a recent photo of her without makeup.

I really think when you spot a body, you wait for back-up. I doubt they were roaming the house for 8 minutes...but jmo.

Like the day she disappeared, since one is available...would make the most sense.
