I really think when you spot a body, you wait for back-up. I doubt they were roaming the house for 8 minutes...but jmo.

Ok so pretty much every time I don't repeat every detail, already available in the dispatch log, all in one post, someone finds something to argue with.

Three sheriff officers arrived at 1:00:29 and 1:00:30.
At 1:05:19 they advised one male down, multiple rounds spent. So at that point they were at lease close enough to see the shells or casings or whatever they were. At that time they didn't see a 2nd body or they would have said it. I'm sure they were proceeding with extreme caution at that point.
A Barron PD officer arrived at 1:06:45
At 1:08:10 they said they would be clearing the house.
At 1:11:02 they advised 2 subjects down. So it took them 3 minutes after advising with now FOUR officers (backup) that they would be clearing the house, until they reported a 2nd victim. I'm sure they were being extremely careful, but this suggests to me that Denise was not immediately visible from the doorway.
At 1:19:27 they requested ME saying 2 subjects unresponsive. So it took 8 1/2 minutes from the time they saw 2 bodies to calling them unresponsive. This suggests to me, that they were attempting resuscitation on one of them, if not both. I didn't say they were "roaming the house." I expect they were doing a careful search for bad guys and victims. But I believe one officer may have been trying resuscitation, on one of the victims, as soon as that area was cleared.

It is so nice of you to repeat every detail though --thanks. Very helpful. There could also have been minutes when they were conferring with one another after reporting they were going to clear the house. Could have taken 2 or more minutes to strategize for best safety and understand layout/roles before proceeding. And then, yes, rescue attempt time possible too.
Edited to remove emoji that turned into a different unintended symbol.

I also think it's possible that she may have been seen as soon as they entered the house, but they'd probably want to be careful not to disturb any possible evidence since she looked like she was likely dead. After that they likely did a quick search of the house and possibly the yard close to the house in case there were other victims. It would be a bit pointless to report each one as they were found if there was nothing that could be done to help them, so they waited to see if there were others before saying that everyone was beyond help (unresponsive). MOO

I've been periodically monitoring the Barron County active warrant list. There is an ARREST WARRANT not bench warrant for a convicted child sexual offender ( even though there are no new charges on Wi court website: (Wisconsin Circuit Court Access)
He was apprehended in Colorado few weeks ago.
Colorado inmate list website: http://www.garcosheriff.com/current_inmates.html)
says he is wanted in another state for being noncompliant on sex registry. He was previously convicted in Barron for 2nd degree sexual assault of child with non family member female under age 16. Records state he's high risk to reoffend.
Hopefully that means he's being extradited to Wi.
COINCIDENCE?!***My question is why would an ARREST WARRANT be issued ( vs. Bench warrant) AND actively pursued yet there are other Barron county sex offenders with 5+ year old BENCH warrants who have not been pursued?( I say they haven't been pursued because they seem to be easily located thanks to Google.)
Please note that due to forum rules, I am not posting persons name or specific wesite links since they have not been implicated in this case.
Coincidence??!

Hello,
This is my first post, as I have been following this case since it happened...school was out, according to the school calendar on Oct. 13, which gave Jayme a long weekend and someone time to plot against her and the parents..I'm just thinking also..it was around 30 degrees the night of the crime, and what role if any did the religious classes play that Jayme took on Wednesdays...these are just my thoughts,as I try to make sense of a senseless crime

Found your trail. Very interesting indeed. Will be sitting on my hands while we wait to see what happens.

Sheriff: No fingerprints, no shoe prints, no DNA in Wisconsin double homicide, missing teen case

Minnesota Public Radio—wish I knew if they are saying they know they recovered no dna, prints BEFORE or AFTER getting back test results other article said expected back this week. Pretty stark. Answers a bit about where phone was, and maybe Denise.

Phone found in bathroom door away from bodies ...

Fitzgerald said authorities are still taking tips about the vehicles but are not keen on locating those vehicles anymore...

911 operator hears yelling... he says under blanket ??

What in the hell more info I get ... more confused...

Great great post...
I have no idea...if your not keen on locating vehicles but still taking tips on them... does that say it all ?? POI driving one of those cars anywhere you’ve seen then tell us ...we located vehicles. But want their movement history ??? Or am I reading it wrong ??

If Denise's body was not visible if LE would have stepped 5 feet into the house (which I assume they would have to in order to check on James), how could the perp have shot Denise? If she was not in his line of sight, he couldn't shoot her. If she was and he hit her but she managed to make it into the bathroom, did he not check if she was dead?

Does anyone know if the DNA of (ex)military and/or (ex)LE personnel is kept in some sort of database?

In case the perp should belong to one of the above, but is not in a criminal database.

Thought same thing. It’s too clean... or perp knew house from being there... maybe painting or bug guy... comes back and leaves nothing.... that is stunning.

I don’t think Fitzgerald team.. he called FBI 3 hours in ... but another cop or ex military..or gamer.. or sex offender...that put some planning in..

Never heard on Police DNA. Although with none at scene ..dunno

If she was standing when shot and fell to the floor behind a piece of furniture then she might not be seen immediately. Was there any light on in the house when they got there is a good question. If it was completely dark in there she could have been laying in the middle of the room and still not be seen. I am guessing the deputy had a flashlight though and probably shined it around. Depending on the amount of furniture in the house she could have been unseen until entering farther in the house.

Fitz talking to another media outlet, and adding a few more details.

Is that intentional, slowly leaking more to keep up the interest, as long as he now knows it won't affect the case?
"There's like a distance to it or something's covering up the phone like a blanket," Fitzgerald said.

Police found the phone in the doorway of a bathroom hallway, away from where the two bodies were discovered, he said in an interview with MPR News.
No blanket in the bathroom hallway, I guess. Kicked all the way from blanket to hallway...
Asked whether he thinks Jayme may be in the Barron area, Fitzgerald said it's not clear yet but "there isn't something to say she's not local."

"[The Closs couple] didn't do a lot of things outside of this area," he said. "So local seems to make more sense than it does with a national abduction or something like that."
Hmm.. That can't be too hard to find??

He also confirms there is no DNA evidence
"We had four different crime labs go over the scene and we didn't recover anything," said Fitzgerald.

So discussion of DNA for criminals or police is not getting anywhere.

I didn't think of furniture. But same if she would have fallen behind furniture. How would the perp have know if she was dead? Or would it have been so obvious the moment he hit her?

I don't think LE either. But (ex) military would make sense. This seems like some sort of well executed mission, by someone who was prepared to and was able to kill to people. And apparently was not greatly affected by it, because he had to be calm enough to get away really quickly with an abductee.

Hi, Dutch Treat. Your mind -- very interesting -- captivating.

Welcome Queencitylaydee with your first post.:):):)
Perhaps any outings that Jayme had, would probably be investigated.
MOO.

The reason I came on to this was I hadn't seen this one before. Maybe it's already been discussed.

Jayme's father had hunting guns in the house. All of those guns were found there. The Closs's were killed with somebody else's gun.

Family of missing Wisconsin teen Jayme Closs shares story weeks after disappearance
Could you locate the part of the linked article where it talks about the guns in the house? I was unable to find anything? Thx

ETA: Nvrmd, I see you were referring to the video. The sheriff reported told media that JC had guns and that they were accounted for. In WI, is it mandatory to register all of your guns? Is that how the sheriff would know they were all accounted for? Is there a possibility JC could have had any guns that were not registered?

Are we absolutely certain that James was inside the door, not outside? TIA

Hi, and welcome.

Do you know anything more about those religious classes?
Is it something where she would go by herself, or is it at school?
