"I'm scared, still scared because there hasn't been much information," said Amy Stone, a lifelong Barron resident.

"In this town, they know everything. You can't change your clothes without someone saying something," Stone said. "Someone knows something."

He said evidence — or a lack of evidence — seems to suggest that the killer or killers didn't get that far in the home sometime after midnight on October 15. Investigators have not recovered any DNA evidence, or fingerprints, nor did they find shoe prints inside the home, he said. He declined to discuss where in the house the bodies were found, how many shots were fired or what kind of guns were used.

Minnesota Public Radio—wish I knew if they are saying they know they recovered no dna, prints BEFORE or AFTER getting back test results other article said expected back this week. Pretty stark. Answers a bit about where phone was, and maybe Denise.

Interesting the article states Fitzgerald said "He declined to discuss where in the house the bodies were found, how many shots were fired or what kind of guns were used."

Have wondered if two guns since reading about the neighbors hearing two different sounding shots. Also considered the sound difference due to location of firing and/or direction of shots.

I have no idea...if your not keen on locating vehicles but still taking tips on them... does that say it all ?? POI driving one of those cars anywhere you’ve seen then tell us ...we located vehicles. But want their movement history ??? Or am I reading it wrong ??

No. It said it was found in hallway by the bathroom door, but he also said the call itself was muffled as if it was under something like a blanket.

Yes imo. LE has stated Jim answered his door and was shot inside that same area and his body was found inside of his home close to the entry door.

I think all 3 victims were inside of their home and were already in bed when they heard the disturbance at their front door.

That is my understanding. And I’ll bet someone heard this early on, assumed Denise was in the bathroom because of this, then started the false rumor that she had barricaded herself in the bathroom.

It was mapped out like a military hostage rescue...

2/3/ or 4 perps

1 or 2 people at front door gain entry and eliminate parents

1 or 2 in second car primary task get the girl and gone..

2-4 perps would fit with 2 cars.. and probably expedite the execution of the plan... could be perps yelling at each other or jayme on 911 call..

Feels like multiple perps .. either all on same team / plan... or jaymes abductor farmed out the killings....

Could be wrong.. hoping 3/4 perps..increases chances one of them slips up or boast to wrong person

IMO this new article supports two early pieces of information. Paraphrasing -- LE believes Jayme was home at the time of the murders based 'on the 911 call and evidence at the scene.' If both parents were killed beyond doubt and the phone is located elsewhere, that would leave a pretty clear assumption/ initial impression that the third member of the family made the call. 'Evidence at the scene' could be as simple as no evidence she was elsewhere and a teenager's bed, looking slept in.

I have more questions now than ever. Who made that call????? Did Denise start it, then run to James? Was it under bed covers originally? Did Jayme call, hiding under her covers? How did it come to be in the hallway? Who had it last? How many people touched it? How did it disconnect???? And where, oh, where is that precious child?

JMO, thinking horses, not zebras, if Denise started the 911 call, drops the phone in the hallway as James is shot, then is shot before the phone call connects, if the phone fell face down, what would they sound like to an operator?

Does anyone know -- is there a way for a phone carrier to know WHY/HOW a call ended? Dropped call vs intentional hang up.

LE has been reticent to reveal much about that call, and slow to reveal details. I hope this means they know more still.... but now I wonder if they have the same questions we do. Who called, and who disconnected it....

Moreover, one suspect or two? One gun or two? One door or two?

Did Jayme try to run? The terror in the home, unthinkable....

Please bring her home.

Think this asked earlier ... we had 911 dispatcher answer... said they couldn’t tell...
But I would think apple or Samsung would show someway. Call disconnected or hang up ... I still think jayme made 911 call... likely has under blanket or in pocket trying to hide...somebody said power may be done.. which at 100 am usually at 0 percent myself...

I've been periodically monitoring the Barron County active warrant list. There is an ARREST WARRANT not bench warrant for a convicted child sexual offender ( even though there are no new charges on Wi court website: (Wisconsin Circuit Court Access)
He was apprehended in Colorado few weeks ago.

says he is wanted in another state for being noncompliant on sex registry. He was previously convicted in Barron for 2nd degree sexual assault of child with non family member female under age 16. Records state he's high risk to reoffend.
Hopefully that means he's being extradited to Wi.
COINCIDENCE?!***My question is why would an ARREST WARRANT be issued ( vs. Bench warrant) AND actively pursued yet there are other Barron county sex offenders with 5+ year old BENCH warrants who have not been pursued?( I say they haven't been pursued because they seem to be easily located thanks to Google.)

Random thoughts:
Does the property back (1.24 acres)up to any body of water, if so, could a boat have been used?

Are there any backroads/trails from the back of the property, could an ATV been used?

Unlocked doors in a small town, gave anyone access to the Closs home, that is if they kept their doors unlocked..?? The perp could have come in while no one was home to get a feel for the layout as he/she plotted.

I thought about the same thing. That has to be how the rumor started Denise was barricaded in the bathroom when that evidently is not the case.
