So there is a 1268 US 8 address in AMERY WI which is 26 mi. away from 1268 US 8 in BARRON. Straight down the highway. Does anyone think it’s possible that it WAS actually mistaken identity and Barron address used instead of the other? Maybe this has already been talked about but I was just looking around for grain silos , etc.. and googled the first part of the address and came up with that other address. Did not realize.....I’m sure this is not news to LE ....

Also—in the very early days of the investigation LE asked for camera footage between Barron and Amery. I assumed it was because it was the opposite direction from the way the cops came to the Closs residence....

Are you possibly mixing up Almena and Amery? Amery is both west and south of Barron and at least 30 miles probably. Almena is due west and probably closer to like 9 miles from Barron. I am thinking you mean Almena...

I remember someone in an earlier thread asked why there hasn't been a filing guardianship for Jayme and sorry if this was already covered but just as an FYI: there is currently an open civil case in regards to Denise's estate. Her sister Jennifer is listed as "Special Administrator" and there is a GAL (guardian ad litem) listed as well. Just thought i'd point that out for what it's worth.

It would be nice if we knew why he was cleared, what the alibi was for the night of the murders, etc. I too think not owning a car means nothing. I won't hold my breath that we will see that information anytime soon

Whoever commit these wicked crimes has a mother, father, brother, sister, girlfriend, neighbor. JMO but THAT'S what we're waiting on -- one of THOSE people to come forward with the tip that breaks this wide open. Then cars will make sense, surveillance videos will make sense, digital and physical footprints will make sense, the weapons, the motive, all the ugly details. We need that ONE PERSON to come forward with that ONE TIP so LE can put all its resources to bear, to bring some kind of justice for Jayme. I had hoped that the appeal from Jayme's aunt would niggle the conscience of someone who knows something....
I simply cannot fathom the pain her family is feeling... waiting, worrying. Somehow may the new year bring a flurry of tips to bring this sweet girl home.

From reading about crimes on here, it seems like so many are loners that there is no one that knows. But there are things. Burglary seems to be a common thing killers have in their backgrounds.

There are so many burglars that where would one begin.

What else have people seen that are common with killers?

Probably not but at least it is something new to discuss.

ETA: Someone asked yesterday if the address of the Closs house could be confused with the meth arrest house. I don't think so. When I viewed the address on google maps and it showed the wrong house, it was the Smrekar's home.

The family and friends also encourage people to hang posters when traveling at every gas station and rest stop when they travel anywhere, which is a great idea. They do plenty. I just do not understand why the home county or main routes do not have billboards and such or an area business or two take the lead and do so and request donations if necessary. Maybe they do not want this crime pointed out and perhaps for good reason but as you said, with someone missing you have to put her face out there and not just on the internet if you want her found... I don't know, there is probably some very good reason this is not done but I sure do not fathom what that may be...

I wondered about legalities. I know like chain restaurants have some rules others do not even with regard to things like alcohol, smoking, employee rules, etc. not because they are laws but corporate rules. Sad though when it comes to a missing child that one would even have to consider that and that all would not just say of course, whatever we can do to help, front and center with the poster...

Interesting it comes to the Smrekars? Also interesting there are two such addresses on Highway 8, albeit in different towns. I have seen on rare occasion a wrong house on a google search and I thought sometimes it is perhaps the properties were subdivided. Like the Smrekars and Closses at one time were perhaps one big lot with one house and then someone requesting rezoning to sell a lot. One would think though that after not too long google would do a review and catch it--not sure how things like that work...

I am not sure about the camera request but I think one of the searches was to Almena. I saw later on the google map the residence you found was Amery, I did not realize it was considered Amery on Highway 8, the City of Amery itself is south of 8. I find it interesting, just another possibility of a wrong address/location. I had no idea Highway 8 had duplicate street addresses on it (even with different cities, I still would not expect that I guess) and I doubt most people know and I am not sure it is a good thing it does when you consider a possibility of a wrong address. Keep posting, please, this case has gone so silent, it saddens me.
