That was my gut instinct when I first heard about this. I haven't seen anything to change my mind really. It occurred to me that an altercation happened at work and continued to James's home. That's because I feel this was rage and not premeditation.

and LE not discovering it yet doesn't rule it out imo. i mentioned yesterday or whenever the case of Dan Wozniak - killed two people and set it up to make it look like one had killed the other so LE did go on that theory initially. But good old fashioned police work eventually led back to him. With all the legal hoops they have to go through, catching the bad guys sometimes does just take time, unfortunately.

Plus, maybe the altercation/argument occurred with no other witnesses around so it was just James and perp. That would of course make it harder for anyone to immediately come forward if no one else saw it and the two of them had no previously known beef.

but i do kind of feel like a crime of this magnitude was probably not the perp's first rodeo, at least in terms of violence not necessarily murder. so i'd be really interested to know who at the plant has some sort of violent background (not necessarily directly against another person's body, but even burglary), or is known to have a temper.

just want to make a kind of nitpicky correction - Spooner is only about 30ish milesfrom Barron, not 3 hours
my family was one of those people mentioned in the article as having cabins in Spooner so i spent all of my childhood/adolescence going up there.

With regard to the pics at a house, my instinct says it is theirs. If one arrows through the photographs there is one with Denise with her as a baby and more. Earlier years. I have thought with some of the photographs that once the family was allowed access to the home, the sister(s) have access now to Denise's photographs to share more.... As I am guessing Denise took the photo of Jim and Jayme...

You cannot get out of the US without a passport. How would they get a passport for Jayme? You need a passport photo. Passport are swiped at points of exit and entry.

I suppose someone could figure out how to make a fake passport but they have holograms and whatever else nowadays. Why would anyone bother?

People keep trying to say it was a certain group at the plant. LE would know that. I doubt if people are rolling in money at that plant.

As far as the picture of Jayme with the veil, every house of that era that I have been in has stairs to the basement via the kitchen.

When we first started going up, we only needed to show birth certificates and also ID for me. I have commented to friends how scarily easy it is for me to get into Canada with other people’s kids. We are not asked for letters from their parents when traveling without them, they barely look our direction.
In the four years I’ve been doing this-hundreds of crossings, I’ve been asked for letters MAYBE 10 times and my car has been randomly selected for search twice.

That is supposedly what Denise told the family, but it has not been confirmed by any published source whether or not Jim actually worked that Sunday.

There's been a great deal of discussion about James working that day and I'm wondering why...is there any theory that maybe this is not true? If he wasn't working where was he? If he wasn't at work, what could that have to do with the crimes. I'm just asking because I'm trying to figure it out myself..does this post even make any sense?

Someone in Spooner knows what happened to Sara, someone in Mason City ia knows what happened to Jodi Huisentruit (adult, but it'sbeen a cold case basically since it happened in 1995)
And someone in Barron knows what happened to Jayme. The sad thing is we may never know. It could be that people are scared. In a small town, you know everyone, if you know the perp and you're not sure they're going to be convicted, you might never speak up out of fear of retaliation.

Entry into Canada: Canadian law requires that all persons entering Canada carry both proof of citizenship and proof of identity. A valid U.S. passport, passport card, or NEXUS card satisfies these requirements for U.S. citizens. Children under 16 need only present proof of U.S. citizenship.

Proof of citizenship would be a birth certificate. We now travel with nexus through the border but when we have people join us that don’t have passports, they just bring a birth certificate and their state ID and never have been denied entry-there or back.

Let’s hope that LE knows more than we’re led to believe. Waiting for someone to ‘snitch’, as it were, could take a very long time indeed. I still remember the Brown’s Chicken Massacre (I lived nearby at the time). It was 9 years later that an ex GF ratted them out.

Sometimes it is interesting to go and look back. I just did at this article. The pic of the chair is in there. While I was never sold on one way or the other the ties, I thought they looked more like chair ties, I saw the chair not expecting it and the front of the seat looks like blood staining. Now we are months past and are led to believe this was quick and planned yet this chair looks like someone sat in it and bled. Not saying it is a fact but it struck me as the first thought that seems like a dark stain like blood...

I felt the same way looking at it again. Could be totally just seeing things, but this is a case where the truth may turn out to be stranger than fiction. How terrifying that night most have been.
