So perhaps the officer who arrived found the Dad barely alive in the doorway and he told him the door was kicked in before he died? speculation only. just trying to make sense of this one detail since I thought at the press conference the sheriff said they were both deceased when they arrived on scene
It may have been simply an assumption on the part of the officer first on scene. This is the trouble with 911 call logs. They have all kinds of things that are initial impressions/assumptions and no investigation of any kind to determine what happened has occurred at that point as that isn't a priority. Had Jayme's father been alive unit 329 would have advised as such and request EMT/Ambulance - and likely would have advised to "step it up".

Also keep in mind that this is not a transcript of radio traffic from officers to dispatch but what the 911 dispatcher handling the incident recorded in a log.

From the county website, it appears Jayme's parents always paid their property taxes in late December, like clockwork. Doesn't sound like anybody with gambling debts.
I didn’t really think they did. The casino has been on my mind though. The time I mentioned visiting one in MN, my local friends told me how tight security was and not to try any funny business (as if I would anyway). That they take their protocol very seriously. Jmo

I think LE thought the deceased man "answered the door" PRIOR TO HIS DEATH based on how his body was placed. If his body was propping the door open it may have taken a few minutes for LE to look at the door jam to see it was damaged and thus assume the door was kicked in.

Great find.
317 REQUESTED THAT 501 RESPOND TO THE SCENE FOR TWO SUBJECTS DOWN, UNRESPONSIVE.

unresponsive = deceased?

What's your point about what ethnic group runs the casinos?
Someone mentioned the arrested woman was Native American.
ETA Take it easy. I’m not pointing any ethnic fingers.

From the 911 log it appears to me they thought it was a suicide entirely BEFORE anyone made it out to the house. Based on the initial 911 call, what they heard. JMO
Yeah that's what I got. Does anyone know the exact time the call started vs when dispatch mentions possible suicide?

Someone mentioned the arrested woman was Native American.

In a completely unrelated crime down the road per the LEO

Given that this is a 911 dispatch log, could some of the entries be related to another / different call?

No, they give the CFS number at the top. It is all related to that one call for service.

This person thought they’d be able to gain entrance by simply knocking? Had this been someone after just Jayme, they could have went through a window or something. Not knock at the front door & make their presance known. Maybe they were trying to draw one of the parents outside? And when they realized that parent wasn’t coming out, they forced their way in? MOO

One photo shows police taking the storm door away as evidence. No obvious damage. From photos, it appears they've also taken the main door, but we haven't seen a photo of it that I know of. We do have the description that it was "shot in." So, did the person open the storm door and then shoot the main door? Were they shooting the lock to make it open? Or shooting through it at somebody looking through the peep hole and asking who was knocking?

My ex is a firefighter/EMT and from what I know typically first responders provide medical attention- many fire fighters are also trained EMT's so instead of paging just firefighters or just EMT's (that are in an ambulance) you page 1st responders (the first medically trained person that can respond to the call)

And yes interesting they considered suicide first if they found him at the front door which had been kicked in- wouldn't ones first thought be murder?? Makes me think GSW to the head maybe?

Kinda hard to commit suicide with a shotgun without a shotgun. Unless they thought someone removed it/stole it/hid it.

This is all JMO of course, but based on 911 logs my opinion about this case has changed slightly.
I think this was someone known to Jayme and/or the family. The fact that whatever the 911 operator heard made them classify it as an apparent suicide tells me that someone alive at the time of the call was in emotional distress (duh) and someone there was full of possible regret. Maybe I'm reading too much into the suicide classification (from what they heard on the 911 call), possibly it's standard op to classify it as such?
Do we think the audio of the 911 call will ever be released? And why weren't the autopsy results released, last I remember we were anticipating that? Poor Jayme. (And poor dog! Why is there always a dog?)

What arrested woman?
There was an arrest nearby due to this investigation. Drug related I assume. Not related according to LE. A poster above mentioned it again. I think it’s where the wrong house scenario has originated.

I agree that things do get lost in translation with these fluid and obviously traumatic situations but I do think the word "attempt" shouldn't be dismissed. If I saw someone that I immediately thought was a suicide I would think initially you'd say suicide and then upon further inspection find the person to still be alive it would change to suicide attempt and not the other way around. As in, you wouldn't see someone with a GSW to the head and think "oh they're probably still alive" so I'd think it would have to be obvious that they were still alive in order for someone to use the word "attempt". Sorry if this is totally confusing...just something I will definitely be keeping in the back of my mind as this case unfolds more.

The call log is interesting. I, too, would like to know if their landline was disconnected previously (as many people no longer have a landline phone at all), or if this was something the perp(s) did.

Reading that they believe the father answered the door but also that the door was kicked in....I am wondering if this was someone known to him/the family. They are angry at him or someone in the house and arrive late at night, pounding on the door and yelling. He knows who this person is, can tell they are irate, and doesn't feel safe opening the door to them. Maybe he even walks near the door to yell at them to go the heck away or he will call police..something like that. Then at that time, the perp kicks in the door and shoots James. This is all MOO of course. I just can't stop thinking this was targeted and that the person was known by the family or at least one of the family members.

I still am unsure why they would take Jayme if they had a vendetta with one or both parents who they murdered, but I guess it could be as simple as, Jayme knows them, she is a liability for them, but they do not want to kill a child, so instead they take off with her.

Also I am curious where the dog was found. Was it in a crate or running loose? I know my dog would be going absolutely nuts, just insane if this was unfolding at my house. But the 911 dispatcher/call log did not mention dog barking on the phone, just yelling.

We're basically awaiting one of four things: a body discovery; a rescue attempt; a voluntary release; or an escape.

Which is most likely? And what's the +/- for how long?

I feel dark about this case today. Should I be, or is there redemption in this?

Great informative find......... Why all the interest in Anderson Dairy area very early on ?
Close by where perp parked?
Or disposed weapon, body, etc. Probably many outer buildings and hiding places. MOO

I am skeptical that dad might use his dying breath to say a door was kicked in. His primary concern more likely was his daughter and wife, and likely in that order -- IF he was conscious / alive, which, unfortunately, I don't think he was at the time
