The woman reported the children’s father, Domoracki, and Borkert, along with the children and her all moved into the apartment last spring, but Domoracki and Borkert left the residence about two months earlier, leaving the children in her care. Borkert, she said, visited her to drop off diapers and supplies shortly after Thanksgiving.
Waukesha couple charged with child abandonment after children allegedly found in squalor

So these people moved in with an elderly female relative with mobility issues and then just left. Probably presented it as wee can pool our money and better make rent. Yikes. BOTH children, 2 and 4, are non verbal but only one is reported as having developmental issues. One has severe tooth decay and has never been immunized since the ones given directly after birth. Sigh. Poor babies. Poor grandma. I hope she gets the services and assistance she needs as well as the children. Sounds as if she could use some.

Case info: Waukesha County prosecutors said two children were found naked "in a completely wild, unkept state" at an apartment that was "a complete and total mess." Now, the parents are charged with child abandonment. In Court: Court records warrants were issued for the arrests of 31-year-old Jessica Borkert & 36-year-old James Domoracki after they failed to appear in court on Thursday, 6/5/25. Waukesha police were called to a multi-level apartment on Jan. 9. A criminal complaint states the kids, ages 2 & 4 at the time, were found screaming & crying. Both children are nonverbal & were "in a completely wild, unkept state," per the complaint. One of the children had bruises, scratches & dirt "all over him." The child also had matted hair & smelled of urine. Court filings said the grandmother told investigators that she lived with Borkert, Domoracki & the children until the parents left roughly two months earlier & did not come back. So the parents left kids w/Grandma and ran off to do drugs? But when found by LE (how?), the kids were in this terrible, unlivable condition. But was Grandma still there, living with the kids? Does Grandma have dementia or something of that sort that makes her unable to care for the kids? Sounds like she may be unable to care for herself as well, so I hope they're helping connect her with agencies to help her. If she was living there too. Or did she leave the kids on their own and go live elsewhere?

Was it the Grandma who made the complaint that brought the kids to the cops' attention? Or was she ok with the parents leaving her with the kids for so long?
