The manhunt started late on Tuesday after Jon Pogreba confronted his wife, Christie, who recently filed for divorce, leading to a physical altercation. Here's what authorities say happened leading up to the massive manhunt for Jonathan Pogreba in Eagle

"The complaint does not specify why exactly Pogreba was angry about the cellphone, but his anger was more than apparent when, holding up the cellphone, he reportedly said "This isn't going to be good," and then pulled out a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at her.

Christie told investigators she grabbed the gun and pushed it upward as the two struggled. During the struggle, Pogreba pushed his wife outside, slamming her against his car near the garage door. She then yelled "He's got a gun" before she fell over in the struggle, with her husband on top of her.

Upstairs in the rural single-family home, the couple's 16-year-old son, who is only identified as A.P. in the complaint, was playing video games with his sister's boyfriend when he heard his parents arguing.

He then reportedly reached under his bed, where he keeps a shotgun, and, wearing a cast from an ankle injury, ran downstairs as quickly as he could to confront his father outside.

Christie said her son couldn't fully see his father because of the way they were positioned on opposite sides of the car. After Pogreba shouted that he wasn't armed, she told her son his father was lying.

The boy told investigators he pointed the shotgun at his father and demanded his father stand up. Pogreba did so, putting his hands up showing he wasn't holding a gun. But then Pogreba allegedly reached for the handgun and ran off in a full sprint."
Jon Pogreba is still wanted and is believed to be driving a stolen white BNW and is believed to be heading to La Crosse or Minnesota.

UPDATE: Pogreba suspect in Trempealeau Co. cabin burglary

This whole situation is really important to me as I am a friend of one of the daughters. The sooner he is found the sooner she can feel safe.

It would be a lot better if everyone did not have a gun.

Manhunt continues as Eagle gunman breaks into relative's cabin in northwest Wisconsin, heads for Boundary Waters

He appears to be heading to Minnesota and may have abandoned the aforementioned white BNW. Jon Pogreba is a 43 year old man who is 6' tall and weighing around 210 pounds. If any of you are in the area please keep vigilant and report any suspicious activity, as he is still believed to be armed.

He will have lots of fun in the Boundary Waters. No motorized vehicles or boats allowed. All items carried in are to be brought back out. Cans, bottles, etc.

Black flies are thick and mosquitoes the size of birds. Fun times!

Makes me wonder if he has experience camping in that area? I believe the family spent time in northern Wisconsin near the UP so if the terrain is similar he might have a fighting chance at hiding out until things blow over.

I wonder what he would

I wonder what he would eat. People have things at their cabins but I imagine it is more like condiments and things that do not need to be refrigerated. Of course, that could mean canned goods.

Some people go to their cabins every weekend. The Fourth is coming up so there will be lots of cabin activity. I would be very nervous if I had a cabin .

I wonder what his goal is

Good. It could've ended much worse.
I'm gonna save my sigh of relief for after he's somewhere with watchful eyes on him. He's still armed and if he's coming back to Eagle he'll presumably be near his family once more.

Yikes! I hope they're being protected at least until then.

Ex-fugitive Pogreba faces more charges as he makes his first appearance in Waukesha County court
Bail was set at $150,000, meaning that with the amount he'll need to pay being $15,000 he may be out within the day

"Pogreba was previously charged June 6 with battery, disorderly conduct, second-degree recklessly endangering safety and intentionally pointing a firearm at a person — all as domestic abuse offenses. The endangering safety charge was the only felony count.

But he now faces two additional felony charges tied to the incident that preceded the manhunt: burglary of a building or dwelling and operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent."

"He also referenced his son's action in coming to the defense of his mother, according to the amended complaint, calling his son "a good shot" and thanking him for taking care of her."
