how would he have survived the night?
He couldn't possibly have been in that duffel bag outside for very long at all, even bundled up. It was -8 last night, and only 7 right now in West Branch, IA. His body, the bag, and everything in it would have been literally frozen in a short time, just as if you put it all in a below 0 freezer.
Sorry if this has been posted. More info about arrest. Wonder if baby was found at same spot she was arrested. She had baby stuff with her when arrested.

Now I'm confused. Was she or was she not released from custody after being questioned?
Does anyone know about the details on the case in TX? Just curious what kind of fraud.
The baby was found across the street from a gas station where police arrested a person of interest in his disappearance Thursday.
So happy this little one was found safe. Mom must want to kill this woman (her "sister"). I know I would. Leaving him outside? In freezing weather in a tote bag (most likely zipped closed). I guess I could be nice and be thankful that she had him swaddled, but with an infant THAT small, there was still a high chance that he could have suffocated. No doubt he was soiled which would make the swaddle/s useless against the freezing cold. How long was he out there? Nearly 24 hours or just over 24 hours?
She needs to be charged with more than kidnapping, IMO. This baby could have easily died. Easily.
This is one of those cases that makes me extremely angry and extremely happy at the same time. God Bless you Kayden. What a little fighter!! And I am so thrilled for his parents. And good job LE!!
iirc they said "nearby"
