I was wondering if she had an accomplice in the car with her who took the baby before LE got there, and then later on left the baby behind the other gas station.

I posted a story on the last page where a doctor says there is no way the baby would have survived. So an accomplice makes sense.

I'm going back to that fake pregnancy belly. How could you be intimate with someone without them seeing it was fake Would those near you want to feel the baby kick? I know when I was pregnant, people were always wanting to feel my belly.

Now if I was single, and didn't have family close by, it's possible to pretend to be pregnant, especially if you have been pregnant before, or research enough to know how to answer questions that will be coming your way about the pregnancy. But I'm having a hard time figuring out how you could carry this through with a husband, and family nearby. Do you fake doctor appts as well? No ultrasounds? Or fake them by copying off the internet? Was she going to visit her sister, and then pretend she had the baby while on the visit? And figure no one was report a missing baby? Didn't she finally state that Kayden's parents wanted to give him away? I don't believe it of course, but I thought I read that in a report. Obviously the last people in the home are who is going to be looked at first....did she think she could just appear back a home with a baby, and state she had it out of state? Guess she didn't think too far ahead in her planning, because what about a birth certificate? Or was she going to insist that Kayden's parents sign papers to give him up? I don't know.

I'm grateful that it doesn't appear that she had any real planning, other than the faking pregnancy. To have a carseat, stroller, clothing, etc in the vehicle, I don't know if she purchased those, or they were Kayden's to begin with. She's obviously not the brightest or sharpest crayon in the box! I hope she stays locked up, and isn't allowed to pull this stunt every again!!!

Thank you Lord for keeping baby Kayden safe, and reunited with his family who obviously love and adore him.

I thought this might be of interest in this thread. quick summary of several abductions of newborns in the UK. The mostinteresting one for me was Julie Kelley. I remember at the trial, her poor husband having to explain;
1) Why he never noticed her fake belly
2) Why he believed she gave birth in 90 minutes, home alone.

I did believe his testimony, unlikely as it seemed. The desperation for a baby only seemed to be in her head but she kind of projected, I think.

I don't think there was anyone else involved. I believe this to be a true miracle. I think the combo of blankets and the baby's own body heat kept him alive (somehow) with radiating off of the plastic bin. If he was in something that air could flow through, there is no way he'd survive.

I keep searching for some kind of reunion pic. Some sort of thanks from Brianna to the fbi and police. I have a sad feeling that this could be one of those stories where we hear no more after the baby was found safe.

Maybe Brianna is selling her story exclusively? It would be nice if it meant that little fella could get a better start in life.

I wonder if the shock of the freezing temperature caused the baby to go into a kind of hibernation mode. Because he was covered and in a bin, he didn't get frostbite. It's possible he may have come close to death and 'came back' and started crying. Last year, a Toronto woman delivered a baby on a frozen sidewalk on her way to the hospital. The baby was declared dead and started moving two hours later.

She also used @mspissypoo but I can't get anything to come up for that. If someone could run that one through peoplebrowser too, there might be something there. I only have two more searches. . .I'll try it though.

ETA-I'm not getting anything, but I'm not sure I'm even doing it right, lol.

Oh, I think she may have done the same thing mentioned in the Teleka thread - used the same account but just changed the name?

An unmaked car should have followed KS to see if she would have went to retrieve Kayden.

What crime was it to have a prosthetic belly in her vehicle?

At this point in time KS was likely LE's prime suspect in the disappearance of Kayden and thought to have had Kayden in her possession. (Baby seat, clothing, ect)

I think the officer who made the original contact with KS at the K&G station or his superiors should have made the decision not to take KS into custody and should have called for an unmarked vehicle to watch KS after initial contact was made and KS was given permission to proceed on her way. KS would have likely returned to the BP station at some point in time to retrieve Kayden if she thought no one was watching her.

Following KS undetected might of possibly led LE right to Kayden within minutes.

KS could have been stopped further down the road on the warrant for further questioning and to be taken into custody, if nothing became of her returning to pick up Kayden where she hid him.

JMO

And if KS had killed Kayden hours earlier could you imagine the rage everyone would be in and how many people would then be screaming because the officer at the time didn't arrest her? It's nothing but apples and oranges.
Damn if you do, damned if you don't.

I know a woman who has to wear one of those on her job. It's a cosmetic surgery place and apparently having the receptionist look mildly pregnant is soothing to the clientele.

Really? That's crazy. I wonder if anyone ever notices that she has been pregnant for years. lol

http://www.wxow.com/story/24669141/2014/02/08/some-question-identity-of-kidnapping-suspect

The criminal complaint lists Smith as a resident of Denver, Colo. A search led us to a family in the nearby suburb of Arvada. They say their daughter, Kristen, has been the victim of identity theft for three years. They believe the woman charged with kidnapping may be using their daughter's identity.
The Milwaukee office of the Federal Bureau of Investigations is handling this case. I called to confirm Smith's purported date of birth and her address in Colorado. A rep told me they can't discuss that, citing the ongoing investigation

This actually would kind of make some sense. I mean the warrant they held her on was after all from tampering with government papers or something like that...wasn't it?

But then it doesn't make any sense because then wouldn't her kids and husband have known? IDK weird.

Moonbump: A good way to keep guys from hitting on you at a party :)

That's funny. Has anyone ever seen the show Girls behaving badly? Reminds me of when the girl sat there getting free drinks and chain smoking well talking to a guy who was buying her drinks. Then she got up at the end all pregnant. lol I laughed so hard when I seen the look on the guys face.

I was wondering the same thing. But I just can't figure where she would have been keeping this accomplice at well she was with the family and where he would have went or done after she got arrested.

I imagine They are in shock. They got baby Kayden back, but she lost her half sister, someone she was moving to live with. Someone she defended to the uncle when he suggested that KS took the baby. ( per article linked above)

It doesn't help that she is a young mom who was overwhelmed to begin with.
Her family relationship with her Mom, postpartum hormones... she was overwhelmed when this happened!
I don't expect anything out of Brianna. I imagine she is probably conflicted right now. :twocents:

OK, that is just downright weird. Could the kidnapper have hacked into Kristin's FB page?

Wondering if the mugshot of this woman is the same as the FB pics?

I think there is resemblence but wondering if she could be different.
